Pugerudes

I just moved into my older West Seattle home in July, 2015 with no window coverings at all on any of my six large windows; great for a view of the Sound and Vashon, bad for privacy. After reading many reviews of Pugerudes I called for some ideas. Jill came out, measured precisely, showed me many samples and ideas for maximum sophistication and minimum maintenance and the various cost levels from which I could choose.
We came up with some fabulous silhouette shades in the front and dining room and beautiful wood blinds in the master and office.
Every day I appreciate them, love them, find them so easy to use and think how wonderful Pugerudes is. They follow-​up on their work to make sure everything is satisfactory and have excellent guarantees. The installer, Jeff, is quick, precise, careful and so easy to have in your home.

Its been just over a year since Pugerudes installed blinds throughout my whole house. Do to operator error (me screwing up) one of the blinds got messed up and was not working. I called Jill for help and she didn’t hesitate to say they would take care of it and then Dave came from Kent to Kirkland and fixed it for me without a question. Great customer service.

We had the pleasure of replacing all of our blinds in our home recently, and after soliciting several bids and talking to different representatives, we chose Pugerudes to install our window treatments. Their sales associate, Jill (who is a co-​owner with her husband Dave) was very patient, knowledgeable and easy to work with. We had 24 different blinds, in various sizes, installed through out our entire home. After speaking with Jill, we determined we wanted nothing but Hunter Douglas as the manufacturer of all our blinds. It is important to us that the product come with a lifetime guarantee, and be of high quality. Jill assured us Hunter Douglas was the product to go with, and she was correct. We had only a small glitch in the fit of one blind, and Dave (who came out to view the blinds with Jill) was quick to immediately order and replace the blind. Their installer, Jeff, was extremely courteous and meticulous in his work, as well. Everyone was a pleasure to work with, and overall the entire experience was quick and painless. We would highly recommend Pugerudes to anyone seeking quality workmanship and sound business practices. Pugerudes quotes were reasonable and in line with other estimates, but we preferred the expertise of 50+ years of a family owned and operated business. We LOVE our new look! Thanks, Pugerudes!

Had a great experience in dealing with Pugerudes! Needed to recover our dining room chairs which Pugerudes did an excellent job on! They picked up the chairs and redelivered quickly and professionally. Wide selection of choices and good knowledge as to what materials work the best for our application. Highly recommended!

SUMMARY:
Pricing– 4 Star. Great value for what we paid (but we paid: D). They’re custom and they use mostly higher end blinds /​hardware, so they’re not going to be cheap. But than again, you get what you pay for. In the end, we felt like we got exactly what we wanted, at a very fair price for the design /​materials /​shades.
Service– 5 star. Only ever worked with Jill and Dave (husband and wife owner’s). Really pleased with Jill’s design suggestions, advice on shades, etc. Dave did a fantastic job installing. Quoted accurate timeframes and were on time for delivery and install.
Products– 5 star. Draperies and valance were really well made, with great fabric selections (we did a silk with a rope trimming) and Hunter Douglas shades. All look great, work great, get lots of compliments so can’t complain.
Time to Complete– 5 star. Knew when they’d be there, how long the drapes would take, and were kept updated in advance of any appointments and installs.
DETAIL:
We used Pugerudes shortly after we completed construction of our home in the Graham, WA area on a referral from an interior designer who helped with the furniture and decorating of our home.
The house was custom built so there was a lot of non-​typical window sizes and layouts and we were baffled by how to do window treatments (we made alot of our own decisions throughout the home building process but what to do with an 8′ tall bay window is a bit confusing, especially when you don’t want to block the view).
Jill visited the house and brought a lot of different samples and fabrics with her. We were impressed by her understanding of what we wanted to achieve and some prompt recommendations based on our other styling selections in the house.
The whole process of choosing the drapes, styling, fabrics, and the window treatments was done in home. It took a while, BUT we felt like it was because she was really educating us and making sure we felt comfortable committing to treatments that were going to be semi-​permanent.
Most of the bid was written up in the house too so before she left, we did have a hard number to look at.
We’re not the kind to just take one bid though and reached out to a few other places, including a few department stores, and the company currently featured at Costco. I can say that going through extra bids ultimately felt like a waste of time. A lot of the salespeople who showed up at the house either didn’t have samples, had incorrect samples, didn’t know what their own availability was, etc. Pricing varied quite a bit (some a lot lower than Pugerudes, and some a lot higher), but in the end, Jill’s plan was not only our favorite, it «felt» right.
It took a few weeks to get the drapes made and all of the window hardware and blinds in (which we knew beforehand), Dave (Jill’s husband) was the installer. Everything went in as planned and without a hitch (no missing parts, no problems with the drape measurements, etc).
We HAVE recommended them to other people (friends and family) which I guess should tell you something.

I am in the process of moving and was recommended to Jill to assist with draperies and blinds. She came out to my house, measured and I was able to get everything installed very quickly. I appreciated her attention to detail during an otherwise stressful time.

I would not recommend Pugerudes for interior design. Their bidding process was unprofessional and took a very long time to complete. They may be great with window coverings, but it would have been better for them to say no to bidding our project (a bid which we had to pay them for) than to say yes and then not follow through.
