I recently called this store looking for information on old Beatles collector edition records. The person who answered the phone was worthless, disrespectful and has no business talking to any customers. When I call a store to ask a question, I don’t expect to be greeted by an arrogant associate that talks down to me as though I were a peasant begging for change. I would highly recommend avoiding this store if you can. Although, maybe it is my fault for calling a record store to ask a question about records…

Alright, so it’s been five years. Time for an update. Same overpriced mediocre crap. Thank heavens for Amazon. Now they sell horrible unlicensed(i assume) artwork portraying pop culture figures and musicians. Don’t mess with Disney, dudes, they’ll take everything you have. I think i’ve bought maybe three things here over fifteen years.

A good record store located in Downtown Kent. You will find a lot of unique records here. A lot of there records are sold on Ebay as well. The big draw back is yes you will find what you are looking for, but you might be best served to dig around other Kent location for cheaper options. The employees are great and they know their stuff and were helpful when I need help fixing my record needle.

I have been going to Spin-More Records since I was 12 years old. I went to high school with the owner’s son(Mark)…(Random fact: Chris K. actually went to JUNIORHIGHSCHOOL with the owner’s other son, Charlie.) Charlie and Mark both are professional jugglers who perform on cruise ships. I found this out today when I was at Spin-More perusing the excellent selection of vintage punk vinyl and used CDs. Do you remember the movie«High Fidelity?» Spin-More is pretty much that record store. Except Jack Black doesn’t work there — an aging record buff who knows everything about everything from about 1950 until the present works there — owns the store. I have bought and sold vinyl and cds to this store several times over the years. I bought my very first copy of «Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables» on 12″ here in 1986 or 1987… this place means a lot to my musical history. And, if you like obscure shit — this is the place to find it. You want a copy of Copper Blue by Sugar? Here is where you can find it. The entire Bikini Kill discography, used? It’s right there in the«Girl Punk» bin. A rare copy of DeeDee Ramone’s rap album? Spin-More has it. The bin signs are organized by genre and hand lettered with band names in faded colored marker. There are rock and roll posters from various famous venues and various monumental bands. There is a huge collection of rare Beatles and Janis Joplin vinyl. There are assorted rock posters and t-shirts for sale. There is a little Numark turntable in the corner(quite like the one I own myself) so you can play a disc you’re interested in but want to hear first. Spin-More is pretty much what every record store should be. I feel lucky that in 2007, some twenty odd years after the first time I ever stepped foot into this store, that it remains open and thriving.
