Did not go for Hot Pot, just regular Szechuan items, and they were executed well. Had the string bean beef, Dan Dan hand shaved noodles, spicy garlic sauce shrimp and pork with bamboo shoots. Everything was good and it was great to share with a group. They were busy during lunch time but service was ok and food didn’t take that long. Will be back to try some other items.

It’s somewhat new so the service kinks havent been all worked out yet. The herb broth is not good. Stick with the regular stuff. Pretty standard hot pot fare though. I’ll come back again but not any time soon there’s too many other place that are far better.

We came here recently to try their hot pot menu even though this place serves regular Szechuan menu items. The restaurant itself isn’t very large as it is inside the Great Wall mall shopping center. Food wise the menu items for the hot pot from the beef, chicken and seafood to me were not of high quality and seemed a bit too chewy. The meats were all frozen and pre-sliced which made me wonder how fresh were the products. I’m not even sure if they had marinated any of the food as I couldn’t taste anything as everything was just bland. They do offer quite a large variety of items to choose from for the all you can eat menu and the price is cheaper than Little Sheep, but overall if I had to choose from the two I would still go to Little Sheep for hot pot. The hot pot done here is through the little portable propane burners and we had trouble getting our hot pot hot enough to cook our food a few times. I would much rather prefer the burners like Little Sheep where the burners are already set inside the table and you don’t have the trouble of adjusting the heating level of the cooking flame. Overall not too bad as the service was quick and I was stuffed with all the food we had, but for ambience and food quality I would choose Little Sheep if I want my next hot pot fix. I wouldn’t mind coming here again just to try their regular menu and giving it a try as I do like some spice in my food.

Good food and fast service. The hot pot seafood set fulfilled my hot pot craving. And you get seafood, 2 types of meat, veggies and other stuff like quail eggs, noodles, tofu and more. Good price for a complete set.

This is your standard, no-frills Szechuan place inside an Asian shopping center. Service is extremelyyyy slow! And they forget your dishes sometimes… other than that, the food is pretty delicious. My stepdad says that their dishes are authentic because they’re not influenced by Cantonese styles.

We stopped by with a large group on a Sunday night. The space is pretty basic, and be prepared to sweat(temperature-wise and spice-wise) when eating here since there isn’t A/C. Since we were a large group, we decided to order dishes instead of the hotpot. We ordered: Green onion pancake: just ok, a little overcooked Pot stickers: basic Spinach sautéed in garlic: one of the few non-spicy dishes that we ordered Spicy string beans: fried and good Mapo tofu: ok Chongqing chicken: spicy and good Cumin beef: I normally order cumin lamb, but this was good as well Salt and pepper prawns: standard but good Dry pot fish: my favorite dish of the night. The fried fish, fried potatoes and peppers was a winning combo. Seafood tofu hotpot: non-spicy, and a little bland Spicy beef noodle soup: get the hand shaved noodles. Overall, not bad, with some ok dishes and a few good ones. If you are looking for something spicy and don’t want to wait at Jang Soo a couple of stores down, then this isn’t a bad option.

I’ve had the hot pot a couple times and it was good. There are lots of items to choose from, how about some pork brains or blood curd? You might just like it! We tried the regular menu items last night, unfortunately most of it was greasy and salty. The two items I would recommend are the potstickers and Szechuan beef noodle soup.

Went there yesterday. The food is ok but the price is high. This is also the only place that I can find cold jelly.

First time and here and first impression was a disappointment. We sat outside as we waited for the rest of our party. First impression: LAZY! There were two occupied table with customers and three other tables occupied with leftover dishes without the patrons. Nonetheless, we opt for the AYCE with seafood and decided on the split pot with two broth. Our choice: preserved vegetables and tomato. Selected a bunch of stuff off the menu plus a condiment here and there for an extra .50 charge. Because our party was so big we got two pots, the other side got their meat and veggie while we sat and waited. We weren’t sure whether or not we were suppose to share their receiving since it being our first time. Our selection finally came about 5 minutes later and something’s they were generous and some they weren’t. I’m sure because we chose/selected so many items they don’t give as much in quantity per choice. One sad part, the daikon and fresh tofu? Two chunks of fresh tofu and 4 thin slices of daikon.? Wow. The preserved vegetable was our favorite. They were slow in the beginning but redeemed themselves. We got extra food and it came out accordingly. Must get again for us would be the preserved vegetable broth(only), pork and vegetable dumpling, mussel, beef, noodles etc. We will be back! Only gripe? Any children older than 5 is considered an «adult» price which for seafood is $ 20! They must reanalyze that factor, that’s insane and not worth it.

Did the trick, after a week of craving meat and veggies in a delicious broth. Having to go solo, I became more accustomed with the ways of the«hot pot» and how it typically will not be served to just one person(this is the second restaurant I now know does this). Out having to run some errands last Saturday, I ended up here solo and had to settle for their«malatang,» which was described to me as «hot pot for one.» Not exactly, but it worked. For one, you’re not eating the meat and veggies on top of an open flame, essentially eating as you cook(one of the wonderful things about hot pot). It was good. I was able to choose 10 different options for the malatang, between meat and veg. I went with beef, pork and«luncheon meat»(yes, I love spam!) and the rest veg. Most things I knew and enjoy: bok choy, cabbage, mushrooms but a few options I tried for the first time(with the help of the waitress/owner?). They included this waffle looking root type vegetable and a white carrot looking veggie. As I mentioned, the flavors were great. Spicy and full of body, it delivered what I know as Szechuan. I did, unfortunately bite into a spice pod or chili pepper and saturated my palate for the next several hours, but… hazards of the exotic, I accept. The reason for the 3 stars is less about the food but more about everything else. Being in the Great Wall, that’s good and bad. Good because it’s pretty easy to get to,(right off of the 167, near Ikea) and bad because that’s true for everyone. If you’re not familiar, it’s not just a grocery store but more a «mall» and the day I went the parking lot was a complete war zone. Saturated with people, it was stress I would rather do without. The mall itself is hectic and wild feeling, kind of like actually being in a third world country,(which I’ve been to, many times). Secondly, the restaurant itself is a little grungy. I hate even saying that, but when the food doesn’t knock your socks off, you start to notice everything else. The bathroom, for example, doubles as a storage room, with a mop haphazardly lying by the door. I’ve always been a big believer that the food is first and came make up for: bad service, an «unkept» atmosphere, etc… but admittedly, that’s not the case here. That’s where you get into«character» points, essentially. I will close with the fact that I would go back due to the fact that I believe their hot pot has the potential to improve their rating to 4 stars.

Finally, I found a good Szechuan cuisine in Seattle areas. It is inside the 99 ranch market. Love the Szechuan Noodle minced beef. Will come back next time if any chance here in Seattle

Good food, great service. We had the hot pot and thoroughly enjoyed it. The only thing I didn’t like was the green onion pancake, besides that, everything else we tried were fairly good. The server who I assume was the owner was extremely helpful as well. Will definitely be going back.

I was excited to try a new hot pot place that’s close by instead of having to make my way to Chinatown. Their offering was a great assortment, service was excellent, but I wasn’t too impressed with their broths. The spicy broth was just right except for when I had to maneuver around the whole chili’s to get what I wanted. Their specialty broth was a little bland, so I mixed the two broths together to add some flavor. If I had to choose, I would make the drive out to Chinatown from Kent.

3.4 stars. Spoiled by Little Sheep Mongolian hot pot and Boiling point(sometimes) in Bellevue, the bar perhaps was set too high. Half spicy half regular broth and a slew of seafood, meat and veggies arrived timely to the table. Vegetables and meat were brought out via a space saving multi-level cart that I would have to admit a smart idea. Fresh looking, fresh tasting; something seems to be missing… just cannot put my finger on it. Entrees, a smidge above average. The green onion pancake, a starchy dense disc with little crunch and no onion flavor, disappointed me. Mapo tofu, the minced meat overcooked and salty, had a balance of spice that when eaten with rice, worked out fine. The short rib noodle bowl definitely better: tender meat and medium firm noodles despite its overly gingered broth, made up for the other mediocre dishes. A couple of visits, one for hot pot and one for their regular menu have now been completed. With the absence of a hot pot style restaurant in the Great Wall, Szechuan impression will do just fine. In my view, the noodle bowl stood out and that might be what I’d order or a lunch rice special rather than their hot pot — based on price and value.

My review is based off of the AYCE hot pot menu only(I haven’t tried anything off of the regular menu) We tried the house spicy and house wellness broth and both were excellent. I was excited that the spicy wasn’t very spicy, but as the peppers and other spices were cooking for so long, that broth became quite spicy near the end of the meal. My only complaint about the broth is that I had to pay an extra $ 2 to do half and half when each soup was $ 2/each already. Same thing with sauces, $ 0.50 for satay sauce. Meats and seafood seemed very fresh. We had beef, lamb and fish fillets, all very tasty! The cuttlefish balls are also a must order. I’m not sure if the dumplings are wrapped in house(walked by another day and saw the waitress wrapping things at a table) but they were only ok to me. Something I would not order so I could make room for other things! I loved the bean curd and lotus roots in both soups. And all of our veggies were clean & fresh! She also checked our soup level quite often and would refill when necessary. How nice! Complaints: Rice was a bit old; it wasn’t white and it was crusty. Time to make a new pot! Anddd… Several items from my checklist of hot pot items didn’t come out in time and I had to ask for things several times. This wasn’t the waitresses fault as the back of the house preps everything and she only brings it to our table once it’s been prepped. Not a biggie since the beauty of hot pot is that you cook as you go so we weren’t in a hurry. Next time we might try some of the items off of the regular menu. Definitely a welcomed addition to the restaurant offerings at Great Wall Mall!
