If you’re looking for great food served with great heart, come here! The sunday brunch is on point. You can’t find a better deal anywhere else! Look for their special events at Redwoods in the adjoining space. Great place for Mardi Gras, sporting events, and music. You’re welcome!

1st time visit was not like expected. I ordered the chefs drunken oxtails. And it had no seasoning, just bland. I asked for some seasonong to try to help it. That did it no justice.

My wife and I found The Quarters on here and were excited to try it out. However, when we drove up at 8pm on a Friday Night it was all dark and locked up. We were very disappointed.

The restaurant is very cute. The décor is excellent, as is the service. I had high expectations. My wife got the bologna sandwich. It was a thick slice of bologna, fried, on white bread, with miracle whip and lettuce. I’m from the Midwest. I get it. I don’t live in the Midwest anymore. I wouldn’t get it anymore. She liked it, though. I got the full po’ boy sandwich. Positives: the bread was on-point. Exactly the kind of soft, baguette-like roll you’d find in NOLA. I’m the kind of guy that rightfully recognizes that the most important part of the pizza is the crust — it’s the foundation, the whole basis of the dish. See also, cuban sandwiches, hoagies. I wish that attention to authenticity followed through with the shrimp though — they were tiny, tough, and soggy. To me, that means they were either 1.) Frozen, pre-packaged, and reheated, or, more depressingly, 2.) Breaded, fried, then left to sit for some time and re-heated in a microwave. Either way, extremely disappointing for a $ 15 sandwich.

Surprisingly empty for a Saturday night, but that may be because of the price. The food was delicious with the perfect amount of spice. I had the jambalaya; the side of chicken was moist and mac n cheese made of real cheese. Cornbread was a little dry, but not too bad. The service was friendly. The spaciousness, art on the wall, and heater was greatly appreciated. I would return if and when I don’t mind spending a little extra.

I was surprised at how cozy this restaurant is. I also loved the relaxing ambiance of the place. There are two couches with long tables. One is near a fireplace. There are several tables nicely spaced apart. There is also a bar area. We were immediately greeted upon walking in and seated at one of the tables right away. The staff is extremely friendly and conscientious — excellent customer service!!! I found the food to be more on the pricey side but very delicious! The fried chicken wings were perfectly seasoned and cooked — very moist on the inside and crispy on the outside with the right amount of crust. OMG! The jambalaya is so good! I would definitely come back and just order that alone. It was that good! It had the perfect spice to it. The Cajun potatoes are topped with green onions and are also delicious! They too had the right amount of spice. The battered fried okra was perfect. Light to the taste and you would never know you’re eating okra. The corn bread was perfect. It wasn’t too sweet — just how I like it. The only thing I thought was just ok were the salmon croquettes. I found them to be a bit dry and a bit overcooked. I didn’t let that deter me as everything else was excellent. They had a special price for the Hurricane mixed drinks and I had ordered that because they didn’t have any wine. Boo. It’s not fair for me to review the Hurricane as I’m not much of a mixed drink person. I did love how it was served in a mason jar. I’m looking forward to coming back here and trying some of their other dishes! …not to mention their exemplary customer service rawks!!!

OMG!!! Fantastic food AND service! I just threw a 40th birthday party for my sister there. I cannot say enough about the amazing service and people that work there. It felt like we were dining at someone’s home. That’s just how welcoming they were! Everybody left with happy tummies and spirits. Just came home and devoured my jambalaya dinner. Hit the spot! Thank you Chef T. and all of your incredible staff from the cooks to the servers and everyone in between. We will definitely be coming to visit again! Love you guys!

I just love this place. Being from Georgia makes it hard for me to appreciate what a lot of restaurants around here call Cajun or southern.

Great experience here last night for dinner. We went in on a whim before our movie. We ordered the fried chicken, a hot link po’ boy, the collard greens, and the fried okra. The chicken was superb — hot and juicy but not too salty. The po’ boy was clean and delicious, it wasn’t smothered in a bunch of sauce. The sides were excellent as well, the collard greens had a little heat to them while the okra was tasty and not soggy in the least. We were persuaded to get dessert as well by our lovely waitress. And speaking of which, the wait staff was pretty amazing. They were almost too good. Three people greeted us and we were told the specials twice. Overall, a nice dining experience and the location is super convenient for us. We’ll be back!

Delicious as always. It’s easy to overload on the fluffy beignets. My group tried almost all of tonight’s specials, including the seafood gumbo the fish fry, and the biscuits and gravy. Personal favorite was the biscuits and gravy. Live music, good jams. Martini bar right next door. Just wish there were more people venturing out to this place!

Not only does this place have amazing food, but the staff are awesome as well. There is some TRUE southern hospitality at this place. I had the oxtail with grits, collard greens, and cornbread and everything was delicious. And I mean that oxtail was incredible. I could have eaten it with a spoon it was so tender. The cornbread was really good but you have to ask for butter. Personally, being a southerner myself, I think it should just come with it automatically. :) What’s cornbread without butter? We also had the beignets for dessert, which were a little less fluffy than I’m used to but still excellent! Oh and try the«backer packer» cocktail! It’s gin, midori, vodka, pineapple juice, and orange slices(and maybe something else I can’t remember) and is refreshing and strong. Super tasty. We’ll definitely be coming back!

This restaurant has an inviting and cozy feel to it. There aren’t many tables inside but they do have outdoor seating. The menu is simple and substitutions are not allowed. We ordered the Drunken Oxtails with Grits and Jambalaya with Fried Chicken. It was delicious! The night we came in, they were offering a special side — Mac Attack. It’s mac & cheese with bacon and shrimp. It was flavorful and not too rich. The lemonade wasn’t too memorable and the corn bread was dry. The staff is super friendly. The wait was long but I think it was because all the tables arrived at the same time and we were one of the last ones to be seated. The pricing seems high for the portion size.

Came here on a Sunday for brunch, we had a party of ~10. When the waitress was going around taking orders for drinks, I asked how things worked because there was only ONE option for breakfast and we also mentioned to her we would be having separate checks. She said we couldn’t order anything else on the menu beside the«Sunday’s Brunch for $ 19.99/person» which included: Cajun potatoes, Eggs, Bacon, Salmon Crockett, chicken and waffle. I asked her if the portions were big, she said yes. We had kids & thought it would be best for them to share. Moments later another lady came out and advised us that if we were sharing it would be an extra $ 10 each – JUSTFORANEXTRADAMNPLATE!!! We didn’t have much of a choice because we were told the portions were big. Not even 5 minutes after we ordered… our food comes out. ***when is the last time you had a big group and your food came out that fast… first thing that came to mind was«was this pre made & then microwaved?». When the server came around to check on us, I told her that the potatoes tasted old as if they sat out and got reheated,. I don’t think the waitress was well experienced because she grabbed somebody else every time we had a comment or a question. The cook came out«WHOSAIDMYPOTATOESWERENASTY» loud, too close and of course with an attitude. I told her«I did, they taste old like they’ve been sitting out»… «OHOKAYWELLTHEYJUSTCAMEOUTTHEOVEN»(Hand movement included lol). I told her that was fine, I didn’t want a new one I just wanted to let them know. She walked away not apologizing or fixing the issue… She comes back out with new potatoes. still tasted old. But she CHARGED me for it. I didn’t even want it. I barely touched my plate, not surprised if she spit in it. The eggs were dense and brown, Salmon crocket was really dry. When our bill came to $ 270!!! it wasn’t separate like we initially asked. We still asked to split it and if they couldn’t due to gratuity, we can give them that 18%. But the waitress still couldn’t do it. It was overall the worst experience everrrrr! ****If you want soul food, its worth the drive to go to Tacoma: Southern Kitchen, CD: Simply Souful, South Seattle: NATESWINGS&WAFFLES. Their food isn’t bland, more options and for sure wont charge the kids to share.

I can’t say I’m very impressed. They only serve the one dish during for Sunday brunch that is $ 20. It includes chicken and waffles, bacon, sausage, Cajun eggs, potatoes, grits and a salmon thing. Oh and I can’t forget the mimosas, you get 2 but I barely drank the one. The food: bland and over cooked. The potatoes were way too spicy. The eggs were dense and brown from all the seasoning. The grits had no salt and pepper. The salmon thing was dry and just not visually appealing. They had mini waffles that I couldn’t decide if they were frozen before. My chicken was burnt, had the little feather bits, and no flavor. It was moist though. The ambiance: cute, a little too loud w the music for brunch we had to yell at each other but we were next to the musician. It seems like a cool place to go hang out. The service: staff was very pleasant but I was a little put off by the waitress in flip flops w grocery store feet and a tank top. Maybe brunch isn’t the way to go, maybe they are really good at dinner but I have my doubts. I wish the friendly service and great ambiance could compensate that their food was not made with love this morning. I really wanted a reason to go back and try their oxtail.

It’s surprising to see all of the negative reviews are about the service when that is what I was most impressed with here. I remember thinking to myself, «These ladies are all so happy!» And they really were. They were very welcoming and gave you the feeling that you were just stopping by a friends or family members restaurant for some dinner. When they took our order, they asked for our names and then continued to address us by our names for the rest of the night. I thought the service here was incredible. Now, as for the food… YES, YES, YES! Finally, some where closer than Tacoma where the Southern food is actually good. Anyone who goes to the popular spot Southern Kitchen in Tacoma needs to make their way over to The Quarters instead. There wasn’t one thing on my plate that wasn’t extremely flavorful. Everything came out hot and fresh and not hot from the heat lamp either. Whoever the cooks are need to stay the cooks because that chicken is definitely one of a kind. And finally, some mac and cheese that’s actually cheesy and not just some noodles. I do suggest making a reservation ahead of time. This place isn’t huge and they get busy. We were seated a bit uncomfortably because there was 5 of us and every table except a table that they probably seat 2 or 3 people at was the only table available. We made it work though. :) No complaints on my end. I’m a fan and I’ll be back!

I made a reservation for 11:30am today for my sisters bridal brunch. While ordering our drinks I attempted to order beignets and was told«we are ouy of those honey you’re on your own». Now, I found it astounding that they woud have sold out within 30 minutes of opening. I asked if that was the case. I got a TON of attitude from my server, who is one of the co-owners«baby we sold out and i eas here till 1am. Its just my wife how were we supposed to make more?» She continuously called me sweetie and my entire party was floored with her unwarranted attitude and rudeness that we decided to leave. I have heard great things about this place, it smelled wonderful inside but I refuse to spend my money in a place that woukd treat us that way. To top ot off, a person in our party knew this person personally which truly shows that they don’t give a famn aboit their customers.

Unfortunately can’t review the food because the service was bad so we left. When we came in there were two other people in the restaurant and she asked if we had reservations which we did not. Once we sat down I told her we had a groupon to use and she said you can’t use it without a reservation and proceeded to make me feel kind of stupid by saying that’s why I asked you if you had a reservation when you came in… apparently with the groupon they’re very strict about the reservation. Which would have been fine if she had nicely explained it. Looking at the app after we left there were tons of reservation times open and if she was customer service oriented she could have shown or explained it to us. We will not be back to the restaurant especially since when we left she was trash talking us to the two other patrons in the place. Unprofessional.
