Stopped here with the winery trail pass we had purchased. We were able to get a free tasting, and purchase a few bottles in our party of 7. The staff was great — informative, didn’t get mad at our somewhat(read«extremely») loud party while we tasted /finished all their almonds, and even let us use the Unilocal coupon(even though technically they don’t apply two coupons in one visit). Wines were also delicious! Highly recommend the sauvignon blanc. Tons of beautiful, artsy space to taste and hang out. Will be back if in Sonoma again!

Really enjoyed this winery. The gentleman who makes the wines and operates the tasting room is a pleasure to talk to. He is a scientist by trade so has plenty to tell you about the chemistry in the wine making process. Beyond that, the wines here were fantastic and the Unilocal check-in deal was too good to pass up. This place is in a row of other REALLY good tasting rooms and should not be passed up.

Great wine tasting experience! Right when he told us that he was the wine creator I really wanted to try this place out. It’s so awesome to speak to the person being the wine and have him discuss how he views the wine process and what he wants to do better. The owner Marc was very enthusiastic about what he did and it really shows through the wine. I definitely recommend trying them out, and think it was much more enjoyable then the wine tasting experience at some of the bigger wineries. After I saw how the wine kegs worked, definitely thinking of picking one of those up!

We loved, loved, loved our visit to Orpheus this weekend — I wish it was getting the traffic it deserves! We were the only visitors on a sunny Sunday afternoon and spent just under an hour chatting with Marc the winemaker. Getting to know his story and philosophy really makes the experience a thousand percent better. We really enjoyed Marc’s approach to using chemistry in his craft(we asked LOTS of questions about the kegs). Actually I spent most of the time figuring out how I could justify buying a keg, but we just don’t drink that often. All day at the larger wineries we were shuttled in and out of packed tasting rooms overflowing with sweaty and semi-drunk«girl-frands» trips, but this was not the scene at Orpheus. Instead we found an airy space and time with the winemaker himself. What more could you ask for? We left with a bottle but a few miles down the road, wished we’d bought more. Also — I love that they stay open until 6pm! Makes a great bonus winery visit.

What a lovely tasting room along beautiful Hwy 12 in Kenwood. Marc’s passion for food, wine, art and community really shines. And the commitment to environmentally friendly wine production is refreshing. Refill bottles! Now I need to figure out where we could keep a keg…

We saw these guys at the SF Vintners Market over the weekend and I was blown away. A wine keg? It’s about time someone came up with this. Friendly reps and good wine brought it altogether. We’ll definitely be visiting their winery soon.

Orpheus Wines has an amazing space. Their tasting room is also an art gallery. An amazing addition to the Kenwood Village. I love their company philosophy: Artistry. Community. Sustainability. Stunning wine, beautiful art and really super nice people. Truly a taste of beauty all around… convenient parking too!

If you’re in the Sonoma Valley doing some wine tasting, I would highly recommend you check out Orpheus Wines. The owner Marc is very passionate and knowledgeable about winemaking and it shows in the wines. I tried all the wines he had and I can’t say anything negative about them, they were all great. The Pinot Noir, Viognier and Orange Muscat were my favorites, even though I liked them all. The Orange Muscat was amazing, unlike anything I ever had, not sweet(I don’t really like sweet wines) and was bubbly, like a sparkling wine. On top of the quality, the prices were extremely reasonable. I left with about four bottles, I should have bought more! Definitely going to go back for more before too long. You can also buy wines in kegs, which I thought was cool and pretty original. Their tasting room is tastefully decorated with unique one of a kind art pieces. There are two other wineries next door and a wonderful restaurant across the courtyard. Definitely a must for anyone visiting the Sonoma Valley looking to taste some excellent wines at a great price.
