I met a friend here for dinner tonight. I arrived first and ordered a glass of wine. My waiter suggested a good wine which I enjoyed. My friend also enjoyed the wine she ordered. We had an appetizer suggested by our waiter which was very good. I had a beet salad and the octopus entrée. I have tried octopus several times and have never liked it. Tonight, I loved it! My friend had the grouper special, which she said was the best grouper she ever had. We split the bread pudding and our lovely meal was complete. We will definitely go back with our respective spouses and to meet again.

Bistro B was a pleasant surprise. We had nine different dishes and all were excellent. The fish of the day, a tuna with polenta and spinach was great. The seafood soup was grand. Oysters are fabulous. Good beer selection. Only problem is a long drive for a midweek dinner.

Bistro B is unique to the small town of Kernersville. Something the area is short on are good restaurants and Bistro B is helping to ease this shortage. Bistro B is located on South Main Street in Kernersville. It is tucked away in an alley lined with boutique shops which can make it a tad difficult to find for first time diners. There are several tables outside that would be great for outdoor dining during warmer weather. Inside, the interior is warm, cozy, and inviting. The lighting is dim which sets an intimate and romantic ambiance that makes this restaurant an ideal place to bring a date. We arrived at 7pm on a Thursday night. While the restaurant was busy and quite full, we did not have to wait and were shown to a table immediately. Once seated, we were given freshly toasted bread accompanied by a delicious dipping oil with their signature«B» logo beautifully written in the oil. The bread was especially handy to snack on while we looked over the large menu. I would advise first time visitors to go online and study the menu on their website. The menu is rather extensive, therefore, it can be a bit overwhelming for newcomers. The menu is imaginative and full of eclectic dishes combining flavors from around the globe. On this visit, my friend and I decided to stick with tapas and mezze dishes. We ordered the duo of empanadas, beef carpaccio, cauliflower gratin, Greek spanakopita, Spanish white asparagus, beef medallions, and Brussels sprouts. I’m not going to describe each dish or give detailed descriptions, but I will say that I wasn’t disappointed by anything that we ordered. All the tapas were elegantly plated. The freshness of the ingredients and the fusion of exotic flavors in each dish was outstanding. Each bite was a culinary road trip through Europe and South America. Out of all the plates we tried, if I had to recommend just three dishes to first time visitors of this restaurant, I would suggest the beef carpaccio, the beef medallions, and the cauliflower gratin. Once you’ve tasted those dishes, I’m confident you will become a fan of Bistro B. Like others have mentioned, I do agree that certain dishes are somewhat overpriced for the portion you receive, but the artistry, quality, and phenomenal taste of each dish makes it easy for me to overlook this. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. However, I would suggest that the waitstaff take note of which customers are ordering tapas and clear the table appropriately, particularly for those customers who are seated at smaller tables. We ran out of space on our table halfway through dinner because dishes were piling up. I highly recommend Bistro B. Bring a date and come in for a taste of Old World cuisines. It’s a dining experience one should not pass on.

The place is very nice, but it is expensive for small amounts of food. I feel like they should make slightly bigger servings. I usually go here for lunch and try different things. I can’t afford to come there for dinner. I do enjoy the soups though. I just usually have to order a desert or extra side so I don’t leave there hungry.

One of the most consistently good restaurants in the area. One of our favorite date places.

So here’s a thing, I actually like this restaurant, and the service, and the food! But you know how you go to a place and everything is fantastic and then in the last minute the waiter drops hot coffee on your lap and unfortunately that is the only thing you remember from that experience? By the way, this is an analogy, not what really happened. Went there tonight with a couple of friends, asked them if they could do something for me to share with my team in the morning, chef comes out and suggests a frittata and I say sounds good, I ask the guy serving me to confirm price and he comes out with $ 120 for a 12″ skillet, I said was out of my budget but then the chef comes out and says he had already started. So I said go ahead and on top of our dinner I paid the price for not asking everything at the right time. Above all I fell I was had, and it’s never a great feeling. The guy that was serving us did an excellent job trying to offset what the chef was doing, kudus to him. But this chef tonight sold a very expensive frittata but lost a customer, who went on Unilocal and wrote a review. Not sure it was worth it, just saying!

Great atmosphere and clean. Service was very good and the owners we on site. We ate a selection of small dishes so that we could try many things. The shrimp and fried oysters were perfectly cooked and obviously fresh. Duck empanadas were great and even the fresh greens on the plate were great. We made reservations on the spot for a pre– Christmas birthday party.

I can sum up this place in three words: overpriced and overrated. Let me get more specific. First, the positives: our waitress was very nice(although she was the only person waiting tables on a Saturday afternoon — which is crazy) and I like that you have the option of sitting outside. Also, the gambas al ajillo(sp?) are delicious. If you like the combination of shrimp, garlic and spiciness– you will enjoy this. Now, my parents love this place. I have been here several times with them. Each time I’ve been, I get the shrimp dish mentioned above(which is an appetizer but I eat it as my meal). Today we stopped for a light snack and I decided to get something different. My boyfriend and I ordered the red sangria(him) and white sangria(me). I hated it. It wasn’t sweet at all and the only fruit in it appeared to be some apples and a lime wedge. For our meal, we had an order of the empanadas(two small empanadas come in one order) to share and then he had a cup of clam soup while I had a side Caesar salad. We both liked the outside exterior of the empanadas although we agreed that they were tiny and lacked enough filling. He liked his soup a lot(although he said the service size was so small that it was more of a saucer than a cup). I thought the salad was just ok. There only a few crushed pieces of croutons and my lettuce was not leafy at all — mainly just the hard pieces of romaine. Our check came and the total for the two of us was over $ 40! I wish we would’ve just gone somewhere else for the price we paid. My recommendation — pass on this place. I love to support local businesses but I was, overall, unimpressed.

Have eaten here twice so far. Small, intimate place operated by a Culinary Institute of America graduate chef with twenty five years of experience. As you’d expect food is excellent and interesting. First class all the way. Specializing in Spanish influenced foods using superior grade ingredients. Outstanding!

Gladly, I never wrote my review after my initial visit two years ago. Today I visited for a private event that was being hosted at Bistro B. The chef did a wonderful job at satisfying our mid morning cravings! The shrimp ceviche was a very nice start that was not overwhelming with any one ingredient. The quiche was perhaps my favorite appetizer that was sent out early! It too, was just simple and to the point! But such a nice balance of flavored that had you impressed with what can at times be a bland dish to me! But the one thing that had all of us impressed, was the Omar Eggs Benedict! Obviously it was his play on a Steak Benedict for which he delivered quite well! My best guess was, it was Filet that still had a perfect pink interior, sliced perfectly thin, lying on a poached egg that ran perfectly when cut! Who couldn’t also be impressed with the crunchy English muffin that required your knife to consume! I realize that these items are not a regular on the menu at Bistro B, but with the quality that was sent out it certainly will bring us back! This southern gentleman was glad he gave Bistro B another shot!

I really, really wanted to like Bistro B. The concept is great. The cuisine is unique. The Triad needs more wine bars with good selection. So, why the naysaying review? We’ve been here twice now, and both times have been disappointing. The first time we dined at Bistro B(about six months ago), the food was enjoyable but the service was lacking. This last time(a week ago), the service was stellar but the food was almost inedible. The seafood dish I ordered had overly chewy pieces of calamari that seemed as though they spent too much time under a heat lamp, and the lobster tasted fishy. It was the worst lobster I’ve ever tasted in my entire life. All in all, Bistro B is inconsistent. I’m willing to give it one last chance, but if that doesn’t go well, Bistro B will no longer be an option in my book.

Love it. One of my all time faves. My favorite item is the beef carpaccio. It’s wonderful. The Lobster Crabtini is amazing. Empanadas. Larger plates are great too but I love to get smaller plates. His mussels are the best priced anywhere. Half-priced wine on Wednesday. It truly is Kernersviile’s little gem.

I have been back to Bistro B quite a few times since my original review in 2013. Unfortunately quite a few of those times were a bit disappointing. The service was awkward and slow and not all the dishes were stella. Not so with my last visit! It was so freaking good. Like so good I want to go back right now. We went on a Tuesday and maybe that is key, not going when they are jam packed on the weekend. I really wanted to get the white asparagus salad but Zac veto’ed it. Next time I’ll just have to go without him. We got the salt cod fritter salad. I wish it was more fritter and less salad, I think the fritters should have been double the size. But they were really tasty. The beef capriccio is one of the best I have had. If you like that dish at all give it a try here, it will not disappoint. The lobster martini is a classic favorite. We also got the duo empanadas which were chorizo in one and skirt steak in another and they were really on point. Perfect place to share a bottle of wine and a whole bunch of tapas with friends over a leisure dinner.

A solid tapas place. The empanadas with mint sauce is just so good, the best one I ever had. It’s a must try. The pork stuff plate is also very good: diverse styles, good cheese and veggies. You can’t go wrong with it. Just ensure you get enough bread to eat all of this. The tables outside are protected from the sun between two buildings. So no worries during the summer, it won’t be too hot. Services was also flawless. Yes it can be slow, cooking is inherently slower in tapas places as people request a lot more dishes and variety than«regular» restaurant. But you usually go there to enjoy a moment, securing enough time to not stress about it: it’s spanish remember? :) I would say the only downside is that it’s a little pricey but which tapas place is not lately? It’s a nice place to stop by if you want to share some good time and good food. Next time I will try to get some dessert, they looked delicious!

This is the first one star review I’ve ever given. The service here is completely inadequate. If I were the owner I would fire the managers who were working May 9th2015. Here’s the short version: we waited over 3 hours for our food with no apology. The server was terrible, the runners didn’t know what any dish was and expected us to know what they were and if that was what we ordered. When we complained the manager wouldn’t even come discuss it with us. We weren’t the only table with this issue. Another large party waited 4 hours, and we saw several customers simply leave and refuse to pay. Here’s the rest of the detail: We went to celebrate a friends’ birthday. We had a reservation for 6:30 for 12 people. Our server came by about 5 minutes after we arrived and took drink orders. So far so good, then drinks were brought out about 25 minutes later and we had to request to order our food at that time. Everything was down hill from there. It took more than 60 minutes for any food to arrive, or to have our server come by and check on drinks. After more than 2 hours some people in our party still had no food and no explanation or apology! I spoke to our server about the delay and she said that’s how tapas are served. «They are served as they are ready.» At that point I asked to speak to the manager. The manager came by after about 20 minutes(not really the manager, just another server). She started telling me about how the chef was trained in Spain and that things are served as they are ready and talking down to me as though I simply didn’t understand how tapas restaurants operate. I nearly lost my mind. Where the chef was trained is irrelevant to the 2.5 hour delay for several of our party. She didn’t even apologize for the delay. Her concession was to offer some desserts and to take a bottle of wine off the bill. Our bill was well over $ 600 so the $ 20 bottle of wine wasn’t much, especially since only 4 of the 12 were drinking wine. We had to wait another 45 minutes for the desserts and the bill. They brought 3 half sized desserts for us to share among 12 people! We complained so they gave us 2 extra. Seriously, look at the photo and how it’s slopped into cups. I messaged the business before posting this to get their side and have not gotten a response in 5 days. I will not be back.

Where do I start? We loved this place. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. This is a hidden gem in Kernersville, NC and I hate that it took me so long to dine here, but I certainly will not take long to go back! I loved the layout of the place, large enough to have plenty of seating but partitioned nicely enough to remain intimate. The waitress Fernanda was really attentive and friendly making suggestions along the way. The chef made his way to the table near the end of the meal to ask us how we enjoyed everything. What did we enjoy? Well to start we shared the Empanadas Cordero(lamb), Beef Carpaccio, and Chorizo al Vin. The Carpaccio was the star of the 3, although all were great. The table ordered the rib eye, hanger steak, and the Argentina Parrillara. This parrillara included 2 types of beef, chorizo, morcilla, and chicken, along with fried yucca and a trio of sauces one of which was a wonderful chimichurri. Dessert around the table was ice cream, an EXCELLENT strawberry cheesecake, and«Mexican Bananas». Now as I have mentioned in another of my reviews, my wife is Mexican and has never heard of this dessert, so… we had to try it. It was bananas wrapped in tortillas and fried with cinnamon, and chocolate sauce, with some vanilla ice cream on the side. I hate bananas, but this was pretty dang good! Dinner was washed down by a wonderful Spanish wine Vino Tondonia a Tempranillo/Grenache blend that was smooth as velvet on the palate. It was slightly pricey, dinner topped out at just north of $ 200 but I thought it was more than worth the price. You will do yourself a service by dining with these people. I know I will be back very soon.

It’s unheard of for me to not have some sort of complaint. Well, technically that is still true: for this amazing place I had one, if you call it that. The menu is BIG. I feel like Chef Tim should edit for us a bit, make some firm decisions… but maybe it’s a «more is more» philosophy. Hard to argue it since in two trips I am consistently stunned. Have the Floridian rock shrimp and the cauliflower and basically anything else. Gluten free is a breeze with his clear menu and the excellent service. Michael at the door is pure joy, and the whole thing makes you feel like you’ve traveled abroad for a couple luxurious hours.

Reviewing all the way from the beautiful west coast! A great friend of ours recommended this place as a must go to, must try. It was a little ways out from where we were, roughly 30 minutes but it was definitely worth the trip. Every single appetizer shared with 8 others was amazing! All starting with the Louisiana fried oysters, calamari, manchego cheese platter, and the Greek hummus combination with some of the best olives. Then comes my entrée, simple seared steak but delicious to the touch. Each slice juicy and delish with my spring well dressed salad. Everything looked amazing and the chef was so inviting and so awesome we had such a great time. The restaurant even stayed open later just to allow us to relax and finish in a no rush zone. The desserts were also just the greatest touch of fulfillment of the night.

This place is difficult to find if you’ve no idea where you’re going. Tucked away off Main Street, parking is behind the building and easily accessible off Mountain Street. Once the parking drama is over, and you’re inside the restaurant, it’s easy to see why people like this place so much. The décor is beautiful. It’s incredibly romantic and intimate with a mix of small two-seaters and a few larger tables that still ring intimate. The menu is huge with appendices and an addendum and if you want a fighting chance to order before they close, look up the menu online before you go. I got the mussels with pommes frites, chorizo empanadas, mezze scallops, side of cauliflower and wine to share. My friends ordered cocktails but I think $ 9 is to expensive for a cocktail and I don’t care how good it is(unless it’s one of those that are made to sip on for a while). Every menu item I was interested in was not available and my dinner choices were third string choices but still delicious. I was impressed with the flavors and presentation of everything. Our server, Ellie, was so very attentive, informative and candid with us. We enjoyed her and the restaurant and I can’t wait to go back to hopefully order those elusive menu items.

I had a great time tonight with a fellow Unilocaler after work. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed a beautiful evening, a bottle of bubbly Cava, and a couple of tapas. This is truly a little gem of a restaurant in Kernersville.
