being from a small town myself I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to small town saloons… I have to say… this is the MOST awesome saloon I’ve even encountered… and Debbie, the bartender, makes the BEST bloody mary’s I’ve ever tasted!!! With tons of space, two pool tables, a full shuffle board and just the right amount of taxidermy and kitsch… this place FAR exceeded our expectations. I suggest to anyone spending time in the Lake Isabella, that they check this place out

My brother and I ventured to the saloon after the brewery closed for the evening. We were not sure what to expect having never been to this town. When we arrived the place was pretty dead. It was evident that they would be closing soon. I felt bad ordering a beer, but we had walked all this way so we decided to have a quick one. The bartender, Carol, was busy closing down shop. I decided to strike up a conversation with her as I always enjoy meeting new people. Well as busy as she was(and I’m sure she wanted to get home after a long day) she dropped everything to chat with us. We must have been there for at least an hour. She told us about the town, how she came to live there and what life was like in such a remote place. My brother and I had an amazing time. She is a beautiful person with a genuine human spirit. She made us feel at home there. Before parting, she recommended a breakfast spot for the next day. The following morning as we were walking to breakfast, we hear, «Heyyy guys!!!» And there’s Carol on her way to open up the bar! She asked us to stop in after breakfast to say goodbye, and we happily obliged. Great bar! Great bartender! We hope to return in the future.
