I’ve been using this store for many of years. This past Thursday, while getting my items checked out. The ladies that check us out were making snide comments. Not sure, if it was directed at us or not. It was unprofessional is my under line. I’ll skeptical of using Gibsons for a supplier from now on.

Gibson’s is more than just a hardware store. You’ll find guns, rain boots, clothing, and other knickknacks. Some of their retail — like clothing — is set out front like a street sale. We dropped in for rain boots since the entire town was sold out and Gibson’s had a small selection. They even carry Hunter boots. Staff is courteous.

I’m from Kerrville, now living in Austin, and came to do some last minute Christmas shopping. I was shocked at how rude I was treated by the manager, blonde, I think her name was Charlie. I was simply inquiring about a price discrepancy because all the gloves in a certain area were marked different prices despite appearing to be the same glove and were placed in the wrong spots. She proceeded to YELL at me that she can’t help it when people move gloves around and demanded that I follow her to the back of the store so she could prove it to me. I wasn’t even arguing about it, I said okay that is fine, and she wouldn’t let it go and continued to fuss at me as everyone in line stared at me like I was trying to cause a problem when I simply asked a question. What a shame, my parents have spent so much money here over the years… Can’t believe I was treated so rudely, especially on Christmas Eve!

If you have stretched all your options all over town and head to gibbons not only more than likely they have what you need but an employee will take you right to it. Customer service here is wonderful, just can’t find it like that anymore. They have so much inventory you are hard pressed not to find what you need. At times they are more pricey but you get what you pay for with service and quality. So glad to see that they are still in business and thriving! Been shopping here since I was a kid and won’t ever shy away from good ol gibsons!

For me, going to Gibson’s is recreational, kind of like going to a movie. It’s easy to spend hours wandering the isles gawking at all of the interesting stuff packed into this space. If you can’t find it anywhere else in Kerrville, there’s a good chance you will find it at Gibson’s. On my most recent visit a few days ago, I found the gun counter almost desolate. What was always the busiest section of the whole store was nearly empty – very few people and very few guns. I’m not sure what’s going on here but I was very disappointed.

Neat store. Feels like a combination flea market/dollar store/1960’s hardware store, which I do not mean to be disrespectful, I actually think that’s cool as hell, and it is! It is no discount store but they have neat stuff and a good selection of staple products to boot, so it’s a pleasure to shop there. Fun fun fun.

Made the trip to Kerrville just to shop there. They have items a lot of other places don’t carry. It’s like stepping into a time warp– except for the prices, which are higher since it’s a mom-and-pop operation. Was told by the cashier that this is only one of two Gibson’s left in Texas. The other is in Weatherford, and it’s not like this one in Kerrville.

Extremely overpriced. They do have a Few neat and unique items that I doubt you can find elsewhere but again, the store is way to costly. I don’t know why people would buy any non– specialty items here as you will pay at least double to triple or more the cost here!

As the saying goes in Kerrville,” if nobody else has it, Gibsons probably does! And its true, there is an ace hardware inside and everything else. Great hunting and fishing section in the back, that will remind you of a pre walmart era. I have heard that this is one of, if not the only remaining Gibsons in the country,(they used to be a chain), so its a different experience. If you live in Kerrville and haven’t been there you need to go and if you you just moved into town you should too.
