I have been coming to this Barber for hair cuts for the last 2 years. I don’t get anything fancy done with my hair so I don’t need a wash or a shampoo. I often don’t even talk to the owner much as he cuts my hair, but that is the beauty of Austin Barber Shop. I just walk in and he remembers me and how I like my hair cut. There doesn’t have to be forced and awkward conversation. I can just sit there and get it done. Inside the barber shop is quite nice. The shop still looks the same in the two years I have been going there. There is a couch and some chairs if you have to wait. I have only ever had to wait once. There is a TV that often has the news on above the entrance to the office in the back. The price is very reasonable and I often just give the guy a $ 20 to cover the cut and tip. That is less than I would spend at a super cuts type store. With the Austin Barber Shop I get the consistency of the same barber with over 20 years of experience without any of the forced conversation of a super cuts.

I was a loyal client of Supercuts(yes, you can start laughing) after years of trying to find a salon/barber that won’t butcher my hair. Since I’ve moved to Kew Gardens, I’ve been trying to find a neighborhood barber that is nearby and also does a good job with my ebony locks. I believe I have found him! For 12 bucks, he carefully crafted my overgrown locks to the style I wanted. I’m definitely coming back! ALSO: They have moved from their original location to the other corner near the bodega.
