We ordered drinks when we sat down and the beer was warm and the margarita was so spicy it was not drinkable. Then we ordered chips and queso and a cup of gumbo as appetizers and a blue cheese burger and classic burger for dinner. Everything came out at once for some reason. The cheese was already congealed and cold but to our dismay this was one of the better aspects of the meal. The gumbo was also cold and very fishy tasting… Unfortunately so was the blue cheese burger that had a weird funk that neither of us could figure out what it was. My classic burger was okay over done for medium but still edible and my girlfriend ended up splitting it because the other burger was inedible. I have never spent so much on a meal and been so disappointed. This place is nothing special and we both agree the best part of the meal was getting to watch the boats being moved around the dock on the lift.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and wanted a small bite to eat after spending time hanging around in my hammock. I should have heeded the Unilocal reviews but after driving by this place so many times, I had to check it out and form my own opinion. Pros — gorgeous location, on the water and plenty of good views wherever you sit — Bar had several beers on tap and looks like a great place to have a drink Cons — ordered the calamari($ 10.99) and what I got was 60% overbattered miniature pieces of calamari and 40% fried strips of red and green peppers. It gave the illusion of a larger serving. I plucked apart all of the batter to see the size of the calamari rings and it would have been a perfect fit for my pinky finger — Completely overpriced for its food and was very disappointed. Called the server and she acknowledged my disappointment and waived the food and brought it to the manager. She was very pleasant and offered to swap it for something else but I declined My feedback was consistent with some other critical reviews so I am surprised that none of it has been taken into consideration. Bottom line: you pay for the view.

This place was amazing. since our vacation was turning out to be horrible in South Beach Miami, we decided to visit key biscayne. We stopped here for food and drinks. The service was the best we’ve had our whole vacation and we were on our last day in Florida. The food was also amazing; and the drinks were delicious and cheaper than in the city. Very relaxed vibe with great beach music. You must stop here when visiting, you won’t regret it. Also, Alexandria was our waitress; she was outstanding!

The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because this little Virginia key bar next to Rusty pelican has a spectacular view of the Miami skyline and is right on the water. It’s probably the only thing keeping it afloat(pun intended). The service was terrible. We sat at the bar and the barge tender seemed like she didn’t even want to be there, let alone interact with us. All the staff seemed to kind of have the same vibe. The food was mediocre at best. We tried the beer battered fish. And it was very bland and poorly seasoned. The drinks which is the main reason for being here, weren’t even great. Just watered down and weak. And super lazy on the presentation. Not really appealing at all. Even tequila shots seemed watered down. not sure how that is accomplished. Rusty pelican, right down the road, is a way better option.

So… Whiskey joe’s has the best view of miami from almost any resturaunt no doubt… But well… Be careful about parking… Your 10 $ beer will turn into a 100 $ night because you will get a boot from key biscayne for $ 89.00 . The actual manager was nice to try and help by asking a security guard to vouch for me saying that I was a customer… But the douche security guard responded in spanish that he is not helping me because its not his job… While he was on his ass«guarding the marina» litterally sitting on his ass… Yes i did understand him speaking spanish. 1 star for the nice view, –1 for the parking sign in the bushes. –1 star for high prices –1 for the boot and –1 for thw douche marina security guard.

Worst service I have ever had. There’s not a proper entrance to the outside bar. They were under staff. Nobody gave us any napkins or silverware. They over charge you for the little pieces of food that they serve. Not even the bar is good. It took over 30 minutes to have somebody to take over our order. The bathroom’s were so dirty. The location is perfect but is not worth it. I will never recommend this place to anybody. Please save your money!

Great place to hang out with friends and enjoy the view of downtown Miami but service was often times slow. I remember several instances where we had to chase down a waiter or go up to the bar to ask someone to find our waiter. Food was average, nothing extra special. The major pro to Whiskey Joe’s are their happy hour specials. Good prices and excellent drinks. I recommend their mojito to anyone looking for a good happy hour drink.

Ok, so I am ONLY giving this a 4 because we walked into a wedding because there was no guidance on where we need to go. However, this place has one of the most beautiful sunset views, live music, and pretty good food.

Good Food Great View. Thankfully the view is beautiful,(docks and the ocean into Downtown Miami) because the service was some what slow, & it wasnt really full so I cant imagine how they would deal with it. You also get the noise from the docks, and boats being loaded in and out, but I found it tolerable. Pets welcome which is great considering its across from the dog beach, However, they forgot the water bowls for the pups. Food was good — we had shrimp tacos and the plantain chips, the chips arent the crispy slices youd expect but they are still yummy. My friend had the sliders, she approved. Best part wonderfully cooked fries! The view makes the wait worth it.

I have given this place a couple of bad reviews before after multiple disappointments, but this past Saturday we had family in town and decided to give it another chance because it is such a great location. Shockingly, our server was great(I am so sorry I did not catch her name). Fast friendly and attentive. Every thing we ordered was in stock. Our food came quickly and everything tasted great. Very pleasantly surprised on all counts. We are planning to go back again soon and hope this wasn’t an anomaly. Please keep up the good work WJ.

Great spot for lunch or dinner after a long day on the beach or riding bike through key biscayne. The menu consists of burgers and lots of fish platters and of course beers to refresh yourself after being in the hot sun and cool waters. We were seated quickly on a Sunday evening. There’s an outside area which overlooks the marina and downtown Miami. It’s a very casual environment. It was very windy so we decided to sit inside although we were very underdressed. The waitress was the sweetest. She took great care of us. Food and drinks came out quickly. To start we had gator bites and two beers(shotgun). For our meals I had fish and chips(fish is made of battered tilapia) and my husband had a fish sandwich(also made with battered tilapia). Overall, it was a nice relaxing experience after a long and tiring day.

Amazing restaurant, service, location and view!!! My family and I were enjoying a day at the Biscayne dog beach, we wanted to grab a bite to eat. I looked on Unilocal and found great option without knowing we would spent the best afternoon ever! We found a nice couple next to us who tested us to a drink, little did we know our conversation led to a new friendship. At this time manager, Eugene Molina came up to us and asked how our experience was. I had nothing but amaaaazing things to say. Sherry was out waitress who went above and beyond with our children and made our experience that much better. Allison, the bartender had the perfect touch with our drinks! Can’t wait to go back soon :)

Headed over to Whiskey Joe’s after work on a Friday for Happy Hour. We ordered a few drinks including the Biscayne Colada as well as the Avocado Fries to snack on. Quality Although the Avocado Fries are an interesting idea I just was not very impressed by them. I felt like the sauce they gave should have complemented them more. It may be petty to criticize bar food, but it just was not very good. The mixed drinks were okay, but since most of them were not included in Happy Hour I expected a little bit more. Quantity It was not the size of the portion that was the issue, but the quality. I think if it was better the appetizer was a good size to be shared by two. Value The Happy Hour specials for everything except the beer seemed to be very minimal. Most were only a dollar or two off the actual prices and many things were not included. Ambiance Whiskey Joe’s is located on the water right by the Rickenbacker Causeway. The bar overlooks a small marina with mostly smaller boats with a gorgeous view of Brickell. It really is the view that is the only reason to stop by. The bar is on a patio outside of what seems like a ratty banquet hall for a larger party or wedding. The bar does have cornhole and a hook and ring toss game in the corner, but it is mostly just tables that overlook the water. There also were a few televisions, but it did not seem like a place to really watch a game. However, what really got to me was the worst selection of music I could imagine. Typically for a bar on the water you would expect some selection of southern rock or country or classic rock, but not here. They basically found a way to play the worst and most annoying pop songs from the past five years. It was absolutely brutal. Crowd The crowd was made up mostly of folks who looked like they had spent most of the day either on the beach or on a boat. I would think the bar selection was made based off of convenience rather than anything else. Service Our waitress was nice, but she was extremely slow. She seemed to be the only one handling tables outside the bar so it is understandable. I did appreciate her hustle when she noticed we were ready to head out before it started raining. Parking There were no signs so we ended up parking in a grassy area right off the main road. Many other people were parked there so it seemed fine. I can’t guarantee that is the right place to park, but I did not get a ticket. Extra Whiskey Joe’s has a nice view of the water, and that is the only reason to stop by. However, with many other locales with waterfront views, including one mere steps away, it makes more sense to go elsewhere.

Just went to Whiskey Joes for lunch. The two stars were given only because they have outdoor seating with a view of the water. The rest of the experience was awful. I came with a few friends and their child. We were seated and about 10 minutes later they asked if we wanted a drink. My friend had to ask for a kids menu twice and flag down the waitress to remind her the third time. We ordered gator bites for our app which were kind of bland, the chipotle sauce didn’t really taste like chipotle. My boyfriend and I shared wings which were dry, along with a side of fries. The waitress thought I said cheese fries so she brought out cheese fries. My friends ordered a grouper sandwich and tacos, both said were good. When we asked if the kids meal could be brought out if it was ready before the rest of the meals she looked like she had never heard of this before. The service we had today was horrible, I’m not sure if our waitress was new but most new people get trained. We had to grab her attention for drink refills and unless we asked for something were never asked if we needed I recommend sitting at the bar so you will get a drink and faster service.

In town for the Miami Boat Show, stopped in for dinner. I had a couple of cold beers and some wings, then fried shrimp. Nice service and good food! I wanna come back to try some more of their menu.

Came here after biking Key Biscayne. I’ve tried to come here before, but I always miss the turn and then there are no other places to turn around. So, we got here famished and dehydrated and they definitely satisfied us. We went to the far seats on the corner, next to the huge machines dropping boats into the water. Cool thing to watch. First, this place is gorgeous during sunset. The sky is all lit up in pinks and orange and it is breathtaking. We were here for happy hour, which offers pretty good deals. We started with ordering wines, where my white was served pretty warm in a very half-full small wine glass. We both sent the wines back for a cocktail, my friend got the hibiscus martini straight up and I ordered the hibiscus martini without the hibiscus or the simple syrup(I’m not big on sweet drinks). They both came after awhile and were pretty good. We ordered the chicken quuesadillas, which were half off. These quesadillas are full size and really tasty. Good place to go for the ambiance and pretty good food/drinks! I recommend not ordering the wine.

Horrible!
