Open late and great place to watch a sunset, listen to music and have a few drinks. I also found it entertaining to watch tipsy people try to dock and trailer their boats at night Crowd gets a bit rough after midnight but be open minded and respectful to everyone and you will receive the same in return

Had no expectations as we were looking for a place to paddle board … Walked around property that has great views of the bay, well maintained with a boat launch ramp. Went inside, bartender was very friendly as well the local patrons! Drinks were cold and yummy !! Not a place for children but perfect dive bar for adults; come as you are !

I liked it. It kicked ass. I like to see what the locals are like. We didn’t like the smoking though. Otherwise, definitely recommend it! The band was awesome too. They rocked the oldies.

My husband and I went here for New Year’s Eve. It was very low key. We got there around 930 and got a parking spot with no problems. It was cash only and they did not have any draft beer. Beers were pretty cheap for the keys $ 8 for a Heineken and a Stella. It got a bit more crowded the closer to midnight we got. Definitely all walks of life, people had their dogs and kids there. They had one stall for women, but they are smart and put the mirror outside so people aren’t taking up the bathroom fixing their makeup. My husband said the men’s bathroom was less than desirable, but guys bathrooms are usually pretty gross. View for the fireworks was great and we didn’t pay a cover which was nice. Next time, I will likely get there around 10, bring camp chairs, and maybe bug spray.

Yep, reviews are accurate. Pretty interesting place. Dive bar city. But… it is a good place to watch the sunset on your way outta the keys. Cold beer, friendly service. The area out back is casual. We sat out on the dock and it was a very pleasant experience. PS stay away from the bathroom if you can help it.

We live in Miami and come to the keys often. We practically always stop here for cheap beer and sit on the picnic tables and enjoy a couple. Today we came down, ordered a couple of beers and some smoked fish. As my wife and I were having our beers some very rude older woman walked aggressively up to us and in an extremely rude way told us «you can’t bring your own drinks here. You have to leave now!» We told her her we just bought these beers and this smoked fish here right now. She then immediately went to the next picnic table which was a family of Hispanic folks that just stopped in to take a picture on the dock. They had some drinks in plastic cups. They were literally there for 2 minutes. She told them the same thing in the same nasty rude way and they immediately left. I don’t know if she thought we were part of that group or not but she was extremely rude and nasty. No apology to us. No civility. Just plain rude. I hope the owners of the Caribbean club get rid of this nasty bitch. She is bad for business. I can certainly understand you don’t want people taking up your tables and bringing their own drinks but there is a nice way to address people if you are in business. Those people didn’t bring a cooler of drinks. They had a plastic cup. They stopped in for a photo and the view. If she hadn’t run them off they probably would have stayed and had a few drinks. Very un key largo of her. Racist almost. Don’t think I’ll be going back here and will never recommend this place again to my friends visiting from out of town. There are tons of places like this in the keys that treat people way better. Screw this place.

This place doesn’t even deserve one star. I have never been more insulted in my life. Staff talks down to people. Dirty bathrooms. Save your money don’t go here.

We always drop our boat in here every time we come down. $ 10 launch/pick-up fee, great ramp. Very friendly, personable people that run it. All other places that advertise ramps are not acceptable ramps. We have a 26′ sailfish I won’t just drop it at any ramp.

Rude and unhelpful staff who serve generic food & weak drinks. Wish I never would have wasted my time and or money. I don’t know how a place like this could still be in business. DONOTWASTEYOURTIMEORMONEYBYLISTENINGTOTHEIROBVIOUSLYPAIDFORREVIEWS!!!

I would leave 0 stars if possible, where do I begin. Food was horrible, at best Drinks were weak and extremely overpriced for the dump of a place it is Went to use bathroom and it was basically an indoor porta potty since toilet did not work Management was extremely extremely rude . Want to feel like crap about the money you spend supporting people? Then this is the place for you.

Caribbean Club is definitely a locals’ dive bar. Don’t be fooled and think this place has cheap drinks. They aren’t. And, they are served in small cups. Locals who they know will always be served first. The clientele who hangs here is unfriendly to those they do not know. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is cash only. There is an ATM in the bar. Drink prices are raised during live music(usually after 10pm) and during special events. There are a lot of special events here. They do NOT have food and if you are hungry, they will sell you a bag of chips. It is a great spot to catch sunset, but that is pretty much it. Caribbean Club is one of those places you need to visit once to say you have been there.

Our first stop along Hwy 1 heading down the Keys. All the reviews talked about the back… They were correct. The water view is fabulous. We stopped for a couple of cold ones and the bar was full of locals. Lots of conversations… We would stop again. Absolutely !!

Not sure why this place is rated only 3 stars. Place is not dirty or gross. It’s a dive bar with decent service with an awesome dock to watch a sunset. How many places can you watch a sunset on the east coast? Dive bar is full of old nice people. Best part is the back, awesome dock. This was also where a Humphrey Bogart film was filmed and some other movies. So they have some cool props and photos from those days.

If you must experience the Caribbean Club for some reason. Just look, don’t touch anything and take your bottled beer to the dock out the back door. Smoking is permitted.

If you walk in and take Caribbean Club as a regular bar, my goodness yes you will be disappointed. Taken as a regular bar it’s dark, dirty, and the bartenders are inconsistent. But if you’re a connoisseur of dive bars, as I am, then Caribbean Club is awesome! We stop in every time we’re on our way down, sometimes just because we got to driving and ended up down there. I expect a lot of the complaints from others at dive bars. Call it low standards if you wish. Sometimes you get a regular ol’ drink, and sometimes you ask for wine, and the bartender dumps the bottle in your cup and only charges you $ 5 for it. We did get the local silent stare thing once, but we were a couple of petite women with awesome hair, who pulled up in a red muscle car. We probably looked out of place. We would have sat down and chatted if we had more time. Because that’s how you handle a dive(like Caribbean Club). You treat locals like it’s their place and let them feel you out. At any rate, you can get away with parking in the lot, heading around the back to the outside area, and watching the sun set without buying a drink or walking through the bar. Mesmerizing, awe-inspiring, jaw dropping, every time. Being Cash-Only is the reason for the 4 stars. Start taking cards, and you’re my destination.

I had to put 1 star down to qualify this so in short the place sucked. Walked in and waited probably 10 minutes to be served at the bar. Not a problem if it’s busy but there were about 10 people there and I patiently listened to the bartenders story as SHETALKEDTOTHEPEOPLENEXTTOME!!! All the while ignoring me. I know I dress like a bum, and normally that would warrant standoffish behavior but I felt like I fit right in at this dump. Guess not, when Grandma finally finished her diatribe about her pelvic mesh & bladder sling she came over and asked me what I wanted. As expected it was small and overpriced. I didn’t stay for a second drink. Two words: BUZZKILL

Dive bar popular with professional drinkers, fisherman, bikers, tourists, me and locals. The joint has a rich history involving Humphrey Bogart. Full liquor, live music often, and cash only. This place is one of the reasons I love the Keys but you can’t be cash only. FAIL. Other than that, I love it.

I keep toying with whether to rate this place 3 or 4 stars. PROS Super casual, divey bar with GREAT music! We were there specifically to see the Luke Sommer Glenn Band. Lots of parking, and near the water. CONS Every time I ordered a Corona, I was charged a different price — from $ 4.00 to $ 4.50. The last time I went up there, I gave him a $ 20 and he only gave me $ 13 back!!! I’m guessing the bartender thought I was drunk and could rip me off??? The female bartender charged both my husband and I $ 4 each time, but the tall, older, gentleman behind the bar was trying to rip us off. I LOVE the Luke Sommer Glenn Band, and will come back here to see them, but will watch our cash, and make sure we’re sticking to our $ 1 tip per beer, rather than watching the bartender try to take more from us. Oh, and this is a CASHONLYBAR.
