Staff barely acknowledge the customer. They hold conversations with each other as if your not there and interrupting their conversation when you ask a question. Some customer service training is drastically needed.

Everything you need and much, much more. You can pick up all the stuff you forgot to bring on vacation, but don’t spend more time here than you have to or you’ll get sucked in.

I never used to shop at K-Mart often before moving to the keys, but this is one of the few places to get the items other stores do not stock. I. e electronics, sporting goods, home goods, and so on. This is a BIG K-Mart location so it stocks quite a large selection of items not at your typical k-Mart. The staff and managers are friendly and ask if you need help, which is always nice to see. The store is kept clean for the most part, they could do a better job of pulling discards left at the counters however. Bottom line, this is the place to go if you forgot something on your travels.

I left my wallet at the checkout. (It was Memorial Day weekend, I have a toddler, it was busy… load up the excuses but in the end, I did it.) It wasn’t until I went to pay at Publix(on the other end of the shopping center) that I realized what I’d done. I ran(literally) back to the KMART and THEYHADIT! The cashier had immediately gave it to her manager and it was in the back room, with nothing missing. Good service, of any kind, begins with honest and caring employees. They have that here.

Dear Kmart, Ahh, a trip to the Keys wouldn’t be completed without a trip to the local Kmart. «Why is that?» Well, because you just have everything necessary for a successfully fun Keys adventure! From every type of water flotation device one can think of, to every size water gun imaginable, name it, and the fun is here. We always stop in to get our annual necessities: water shoes(for any Keys beach adventure, water shoes are a MUST — lots of little creatures in the turtle grass), toys, floats, water bottles(super cheap here), sunscreen, cheap sunglasses, and a sun hat. This year, I happened to accidentally FORGET to pack some undergarment essentials and towels(who does that?!), so I also found myself checking out some of the other departments… LOL Thanks for having everything I need under one roof. I *heart* Convenience. All the best, SabrinaAnna*

What makes this Kmart special is their water activities area. They have just about any and everything needed for keys fun. Life jackets, snorkeling gear, noddles(you know those styroform poles to float on, and more importantly hit each other with) grilling gear, food(which I never actually buy since publix is right next door). The garden selection is a step up too, and since the closest home depot is over 30 minutes away; it comes in handy. They also have all the normal Kmart stuff. The clothing section is more ocean/keysish so it’s a good place to get some decent bathing suits for cheap.
