There are a lot of choices for scuba gear down here. I spent most of the day today walking through the various shops in Key Largo and without a doubt, Scuba Quest Outlet is my favorite. Here’s why: STAFF: I was fortunate enough to meet a gentleman named Rick Lemmon. He was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He knows his gear. He is confident in making suggestions and giving advice. But what I really liked was that he was genuinely in helping me out. GEAR: Pricing is better than most. In fact, I struggled to find as good of a selection with as low of prices as Scuba Quest Outlet and I comparison shopped A LOT of Key Largo stores.(On a side note, that«Divers Outlet» place is a joke. Overpriced and tiny selection. So why such a large building? It’s full of tourist clothing. Ridiculous.) FACILITY: The facility is clean, roomy and packed with gear. Enjoyable shopping there. They even have a bargain tent outside that is worth a look. Plenty of parking and right off US1. It’s one of the first scuba stores you come to when you arrive on Key Largo, which is what made leave the first time to go comparison shop. I figured, if they were so on-top of things, so would everyone else. Wrong. I ended up turning my car around and coming right back a few hours later. Bottom line: This place is worth your time. Stop in and ask for Rick(or Holly, she seemed cool too!), he will treat you right. To the owner of this shop: You never now who is walking through your doors. I just moved to Miami from the West coast and spent more than $ 350 on snorkeling gear today at your store. On my next visit, I will have my son with me who I need to outfit with scuba gear. I fully intend to buy it all from you. The way I was treated today by Rick(and then Holly) is the reason. They are one of the things that differentiates your shop in a sea of scuba stores.

if you like being told your an idiot because you dont know what something is and you simply asked what it was and what it does and you also like being treated like your about to shoplift, and of you love horrible customer service you should buy your gear here. they have an awesome selection with decent prices but they dont have the slightest idea what customer service and respect means. i went it to buy a regulator and a mask because im going to take lessons and want my own gear when im ready and i didn’t know what an «air gage» was so i asked the tall guy and for some reason instead of telling me what its purpose was he continued to criticize me and say he cant believe im going to dive and dont know what that is. i explained my situation and he literally told me i wad an idiot and good luck not dieing. i explained that i would only be in 10 ft of water and that i wasnt worried about dieing cause worse case scenario, i can swim up pretty easy. his reply verbatim was«you can drowned in a bathtub, at this point i was so offended that my reply was«maybe you can drowned in a tub, or a baby, or someone who is disabled possibly but im pretty sure ide be fine regardless . this guy proceeded to walk out of the store and talked me down to the other person who worked there. is this a florida thing? is this just normal customer service for people around here? this stuff does not fly where im from, you’d get shut down or worse where im from.

We did some comparison shopping in the area, and this place was the absolute best. The staff here is incredibly knowledgable and helpful. Awesome customer service. We were buying our first snorkeling gear and two of the staff members really took their time with us so that we would understand what would be best for us. And I am really happy with the results! We had a great time snorkeling and a lot of it had to do with the quality of the gear we purchased. And at great prices! Highly recommend this place!

Stopped here on our way to Key West. We needed some snorkeling gear, and this was the first place we saw off the road. At first, I was paranoid that they would price gauge because of their location. However, this was far from the case! Immediately upon entering, a nice guy asked us if he could help, and showed us to some snorkeling kits they had on sale. He allowed us to try on the masks and fins, explained how they should fit and even checked their inventory for the colors/sizes we wanted. We wound up purchasing two full snorkel sets at a very fair price. For comparison’s sake, we stopped by Kmart about 30 miles further south, and they offered similar sets at the same price. However, the quality of Kmart’s sets were far inferior to the kits we purchased. We spent the next three days in Key West snorkeling with this gear, which worked excellently. To top it all off, when they learned that we were traveling from the opposite coast, they recommended us to check out the adorable Key Deer off of Big Pine Key on our way down to Key West — definitely worth the short detour. Those deer were too precious! They also recommended some great snorkeling spots in Key West, of which we took full advantage. Great spot!
