A Modern Romance

On your search for a South Florida wedding planner? Stop right here, you found him! Not sure that I could really fit all the amazing things I think about Eric Baker and team in a small paragraph, but here goes… He is remarkable and I will use and recommend his services for any event I host. Most people I interviewed with for day-​of coordination wanted to charge me for a phone call, email, advice, etc. which I thought was crazy (I know some brides take advantage of this). Eric is a warm person who you will instantly connect with. His taste is impeccable and he needs VERY little direction on décor, because he is creative and a visionary. His recommendations on other vendors were on point– loved them all. The month-​of he put together a great packet for all vendors, which was a relief as a bride, to know that it’s all together and organized. The day-​of he was extraordinary, I felt like I had someone handling every little thing for me so I could really enjoy my wedding. Most of the blogs you read tell you you don’t have time to eat, you don’t have time together, etc. etc. but with Eric handling it all, you HAVE the time to experience your wedding day. Everyone complimented me on how calm I was the day of, well that’s because I knew I had the best wedding coordinator around.

If you are planning a wedding in Miami and the Florida Keys, the first call you must make is to Eric Baker at A Modern Romance. Being from Boston and trying to plan a destination wedding 1600 miles away in Key West was a bit more than my wife and I could handle. I was fortunate to have found Eric who not only returned my request for information on the same day, but got us excited about the new partnership we had forged to make our day (or week for that matter) so special.
Eric is certainly «in the know» when it comes to the best of the best in South Florida and the Keys. You can research all you want but a simple call to Eric (or Facebook message as we STILL do two years later) will produce a list far superior than a Google search engine. For instance, we researched and set up meetings with florists, cake shops, and event flooring people prior to our «tasting» trip. Eric told us we had done a thorough job of research but then proceeded to send us to the BEST bakery for a cake, the florist my wife had dreamed about, and an event company that provided the best price for equipment. The cake in particular (Old Town Bakery) wasn’t even on our list but is now our first stop each time back!
Besides being «in the know», Eric has a level of creativity that is unmatched. We told him of what we were looking for and gave him the leeway to make it great. Paying for the whole wedding ourselves, Eric was able create a PERFECT week for us and our family and friends on a budget. In hindsight I wish I would have called Eric and said «Plan our wedding and tell me when to show up», that’s how confident we are with his work.
I think it’s important to note that when you partner with Eric you not only have an amazing advocate for you with venues and vendors for your special event, but you also have an instant friend on the island.
