Nomadic has branched into kayaking and snorkeling, and we did the latter. It was wonderful to be so far from shore and enjoying the fantastic snorkeling that otherwise would be unaccessible. Note that these trips cater to gay men and are clothing optional once you get a distance from shore… something that I didn’t think I would partake in but the staff’s joy for their work was infectious and releasing myself from my swimsuit was a fun and freeing(and not-at-all creepy) experience. So glad I went!

Went to a morning trip with Cody who took us to a remote spot with few people around. The route was extremely scenic and tranquil. Cody was very observant and spotted a lot of animals — nurse shark, mangrove crabs, sea cucumber, sea star, fish, etc. It was amazing to see those animals up close! The best part of the trip was a leisurely float through a path with low-hanging mangroves(we had to sit down on the paddle board in order to get through). Then we came to a little open area where we enjoyed some snacks(provided by Cody). Overall it was fantastic experience. It was nice to get away from the overly commercialized Key West /tour operators to enjoy this personal paddle boarding experience. Highly recommend!

Exceeded my expectations by miles. Great tour. You get all up in the mangroves. Cody is a great host and knows the area well.

The whole experience was absolutely amazing! Cody was super knowledgeable about the area he took us to, and awesome at instructing us how to successfully paddle board. The nature tour was relaxing and amazing and would do again any day! So really you should absolutely book a tour if you are anywhere in Key West, you will NOT regret it!

Went out today on a paddle-boarding adventure with my husband and Cody. We went to a place further up the Keys that was very secluded. It was a perfect weather day on the water and we saw all kinds of fish and other marine animals. Cody is very knowledgeable about the area as well as the multitudes of sea creatures. He is a great tour guide and was patient with us being novice paddle-boarders. I would highly recommend this tour and going out with Cody.

do not pass up the chance to go Stand Up Paddleboarding with Cody from Nomadic SUP. He is wonderful. He picked us up at our hotel and drove us to our paddleboard destination. He has quite a few spots that he uses and chooses which one to take you to depending on weather and water conditions. Never been paddleboarding before? Worry not, I am a complete klutz and Cody taught me how to stand within ten minutes of being on a board. Cody is a great teacher, is personable, a blast to be around and has mega-knowledge. Nomadic SUP provided some of the coolest and most cherished memories that we have of our vacation in Key West. Quit reading the reviews and book with them already!

As most of you know, Key West is a hot spot for vacationing. I plan on returning again in the future and the first thing I’m going to do when I do make a return is book another Nomadic SUP tour. This was a fantastic experience and I recommend it to everyone. Cody, the owner of NSUP, picked everyone up in our party from our hotels. Along the way, we learned more about the wildlife of Key West, how he got into this unique business and a bit of a primer of what to expect. We got to a somewhat secluded beach after a half-hour drive and, after signing the appropriate paperwork, Cody gave us a brief but informative lesson on paddleboarding. This was my first time on this apparatus, so you can imagine my nervousness. I’ll be the first to say that it’s super easy to pick up and lots of fun. Also, your entire body will get a work out so be prepared for some morning soreness. Yes, I did lose balance and splash into the water, but it’s very easy to get right back up. Also, it was refreshing so it helped cool me off. Our excursion took us through peaceful and secluded mangroves. While I didn’t get to see that much wildlife, Cody mentioned what has been seen and gave some insight on what we did see. The highlight were the large amounts of jellyfish. Members of the cnidarian family don’t do much, but actually seeing them in the wild and in their natural habitat was fascinating. Others in the party spotted a nurse shark, some crustaceans and interesting coral. Midway through the trip, a few members of the party along with Cody decided to «go natural.» The thought of falling off the board and onto a jellyfish with no protection coupled with my proper upbringing(i.e. shyness) made it so I kept my swimsuit on. After that, we found a shallow area to hop off the board and enjoy the water and the weather. Cody provided us with bottles of water, fruit, almonds, cookies and other snacks. The tour lasted for a couple of hours, but it felt like it lasted only a couple of minutes. Being on top of a board, getting a fantastic workout, seeing a different side of Key West away from the noise of Duval and the screaming children of the hotels, and most importantly, being around a great group made Nomadic SUP the highlight of my(and I’m sure others’) Key West trip. Readers of Unilocal,I cannot recommend this place enough.

This is a MUSTDO!!! My natural tour with Cody this morning has been one of the highlights of my two month long stay in Key West! I wish I would have discovered this sooner as I would have made it a weekly excursion. Cody has an amazing personality and is a joy to be around. His knowledge of the area made for a great educational experience. The paddle boarding was loads of fun too! It was much easier than I anticipated. But the best part was being out in nature the way we were made to be. It just felt right. I definitely recommend this experience and I’ll definitely be doing it again before I leave. Thanks Nomadic SUP!!!

INCREDIBLEEXPERIENCE!!! It was our first visit to Key West and we were anxious to get out on the water, but with so many companies offering some very similar activities, we didn’t know who to turn to. Then we heard about Nomadic SUP, both from the visitor’s center and from an acquaintance we had just met after arriving in town. All I have to say is: Thank god for the recommendations! Nomadic SUP was by far the best thing we did in Key West. It was one of the highlights — if not THE highlight — of our vacation. I can’t say enough about it… and ever since we hopped off the boards, I’ve been raving about it to anyone who’ll listen. I had never been on a paddleboard in my life; my partner had. Regardless, I can easily say that he made both of us – despite our differing levels of experience — feel absolutely comfortable on the boards. It’s not a difficult activity by any stretch of the imagination, but, nonetheless, Cody takes the time to walk you though every step and guide you along the way, no matter what your experience level. He was the best paddleboard guide we could have wished for. Honestly made us feel like we were out on the water with another one of our friends, not just a «tour guide.» He’s extremely comfortable navigating his way around the mangroves. He’s so fun to talk to and easy to get along with that it makes the whole experience that much better. I can’t express how comfortable he made us feel throughout the whole experience. It was personal, private and secluded — not one of those impersonal tours you find all over there place where a guide takes 20 people out at once, or one of those tours where you’re paddling amongst other groups of paddlers and kayakers. Cody really goes out of his way to take you off the beaten track, which makes the whole experience stand out and rise above the rest. :) We did the sunset tour and it was truly magical — a beautiful, peaceful, and laid back experience. Whoever said it’s a «Duval Street detox» was spot-on… it really gets you out of the craziness of downtown Key West and allows you to appreciate and connect with the beauty and the nature around you. Moreover, Cody is extremely knowledgeable, not only about the sport, but about the landscape and the wildlife — the mangroves, the jellyfish, the sharks, the birds — it’s amazing how many things you see & learn when you break away from town and escape into the isolated pools of the mangroves. Cody is a lucky man — he gets to do this every day! And his passion for paddleboarding(and for nature) really shines through. That’s the best part — not only does he love getting out on the water and paddling through the incredible landscape, but he loves to share it with others. It’s an infectious passion and I can’t wait to do it again! I can easily say that this was a five-start experience and I look forward to hitting the water with Cody once more as soon as I’m back in Key West!
