Ocean Wellness Spa and Salon

Ocean Wellness is one of the best known spas in Key West offering many services. I have used their hairstyling services for a few years. My favorite stylist is John Hooker who is very easy to work with. He is very personable and makes you feel special and comfortable. His knowledge of coloring, styling and Keritin application is superb! It is obvious that he has years of experience and is extremely talented! I always leave the salon looking and feeling fabulous!

My finance and I visited this spa in May 2016 and enjoyed our entire experience. From the moment we called to set up the appointment, to the moment we left, every staff member was polite, professional, warm, and kind. As a massage therapist myself, I’ve seen many spas where employees are far from relaxed, and luckily, Ocean Wellness Spa & Salon did not feel that way at all…
My therapist, Lesle, was excellent. She paid attention to my requests and even got up on a chair to close the a/​c vents for me when I got chilly. And on a practical note, they have a private lot for stress free parking.
We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

Couple’s massage Service: Amazing service we have received, it was so good that my soul-​mate mentioned that I have even snored a few times lol… It was an 1 hour of deep relaxation.
Place: Well located with private parking. It was well cleaned and maintained (A plus for the cleaning crew). We felt really good at the place, really!!! Well clean.
Customer service: Top-​Notch assistance from start-​to-​the-​end. Great attention to customer questions and prompt with in-​house courtesy refreshments. As first time check-​in on Unilocal,we have received an add-​on to our service.
I hope our TIPs was close to be enough comparing to the amazing services we have received in a such pleasurable place.

Came here with mom Mom and a friend on vacation, and it was heaven! Not only did they get us in less than 24 hours before inquiring, but they also let us bring a bottle of bubbly and they provided fresh squeezed orange juice!
I had one of the facials and a polish change, and it was simply divine! Highly recommended! Charles was incredibly helpful and I suggest asking for his assistance when booking. Enjoy!

This was my first prenatal massage and it won’t be my last it was so relaxing and I would recommend Richard he was amazing made feel so welcomed and was super sweet I’m sure I will be back soon

It was my first time ever getting a professional massage and I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Ocean Wellness! All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming. When I went back to for my massage I was a little nervous at first but the masseuse made me feel very comfortable and assured me that if I felt uncomfortable with pressure or technique that she would be sure to change it up. I also got a manicure and I will say it was the best I have had, the lady who helped me was very polite and patient as I was picking my color. She was gentle when working with my hands. When I was leaving the receptionists in the front were very helpful so that I wouldn’t mess up my nails. I will definitely be going back regularly and recommend anyone who is wanting a fantastic massage and great service!

Convenient cozy location, friendly soothing atmosphere. Had Janet as a massage therapist she was very pleasant and concentrated working on my problem areas on my overly stressed body with ease. Left feeling smoothed out and like I was on a cloud.

Was a great afternoon with 2 friends… massage was very good and my other friend had her eyelashes tinted, they came out great!

What a fantastic place. My massage therapist was amazing. She found spots in my back that no one else has been able to reach in all my hears of trying to get some relief from the pain. I would definitely go back and would encourage you to do the same.

I was on vacation and had an amazing massage from Sarah, who seemed to know exactly where my knots were! Great atmosphere. Only thing I didn’t care for was the music played in the room, so I had her turn it way down, which was fine. Would be nice to have music without any lyrics so I could float away without thinking too much. Overall, a great experience!

Very clean and modern while still having a beachy feel. Parking lot which is a HUGE bonus in KW. Staff was very friendly. I got a pedicure which was relaxing with great massage. All of the staff were very friendly to me and full of local knowledge!

When it comes to a great therapeutic massage, you only need to know two words «Marc Wagoner». He is absolutely incredible.
I have been to various places around the island, and in my opinion Marc is the best around. He applies the perfect amount of pressure, is very sensitive to any specific areas you would like worked on, listens to what you have to say, and takes great care in providing excellent service. My only personal suggestion for Marc is that the music can be a bit softer and more tranquil in style (like ocean water or some type of earthy spa music) to help with relaxing.
From the minute you enter Ocean Wellness, the atmosphere is relaxed and calm. The ladies at the desk are always helpful and nice, offering infused water while you wait. The overall place is very clean and well maintained. You would not know stepping into this Spa that it is inside an Old Town style building. You are transported into a very relaxed, tropical vibe that makes each experience enjoyable.
Aside from massages, Ocean Wellness also offers hair cuts for men and women, mani-pedi’s and a menu of other select items.
Another bonus is free parking for guests on the back side of the building.

Mediocre. I got an «alpine arnica» massage but it was more like a so-​so Swedish massage.
The main reason for the lower rating was the constant and avoidable noise outside the massage room. If the front desk lady had just asked people to keep their voices down versus participating in the gossip it would have been a more enjoyable experience.
Also, while in the reception area before the massage, the receptionist really loudly told someone who needed directions «it’s past Better than Sex» (the name of a restaurant here) and then repeated it a few more times. Awkward when you’re sitting next to your dad. No other landmarks to mention than «Better than Sex»?!
They also had no idea about the free enhancement when you check in on Unilocal thing. Once I pointed it out and they figured it out they clarified that it’s only the mighty mint foot treatment or scalp massage and only for services over $ 100. Just good to know.
My dad really enjoyed his massage though!

I’m a regular at this hair salon/​spa and thought I’d update my review. This is for the hair only — -Yay for ERIC! I’ve gone with Eric a few times now for a hair cut. He is a total master with scissors and a perfectionist at his work, a true artist! He’s such a cool and super nice person. Not only can he help you get the hair cut you want but he also can provide suggestions to you based on your face shape. I wasn’t sure what kind of cut I wanted but my hair was getting so long and unmaintainable that I asked him just to help me! We went for the side sweep and layered edgy cut.
I had an amazing time with him and as always leave Ocean Wellness Spa happy. I love my awesome edgy haircut. I also got some highlights this time too, and what he calls, peekaboo highlights so I can wear my hair any style. I can even do my hair whip and still show off the highlights that peek underneath. I always feel super fabulous after coming out of this hair salon.
Nice staff overall and definitely do not think the cost for what was done was at all pricey. Very reasonable and will keep coming back. If you’re looking for an upscale hair salon with a good deal, go to Ocean Wellness for a hair cut that can’t be beat.

I can’t say enough great things about the Brazilian waxes at Ocean Wellness. I highly recommend Dianna. She is caring, tedious and most importantly — QUICK! She would be a perfect esthetician for any first-​timer, because of her soft nature and professional attitude. They use a soft and hard wax, pending on your preference. I see Dianna once a month and it’s my favorite part of my day! I always leave feeling refreshed, and for that, I am extremely grateful!

Both my husband and I got massages at Ocean by two different therapists — Michelle and Andrea. Both massages were excellent. My husband rarely raves about massages because previous therapists haven’t applied enough pressure but he says Andrea gave him the best massage he ever had. Since this was a Father’s Day gift for him, I was ecstatic that he was pleased.
Michelle, also, gave me a fantastic massage, focusing on all my problem areas. I definitely felt the difference after the session.
The only reason I don’t give Ocean 5 stars is because they don’t have showers so one can remove the oil afterwards AND it would have been nice if they had a sauna or steam room like most spas. Other than that, the experience was great! We would go again.

I needed a blow out and picked this Spa based on the reviews. I loooooved my experience here. John did such an amazing job on my hair that I came back a few days later so that he could do it again.
The service and prices here are just terrific and I was grateful to find a spa that didn’t charge «island» resort prices. If you need anything spa related… go to this spa. If you need your hair done… ask for John.

Great massage and one of the fewer places open on Sunday. I had just run the Keys 100 and knew I’d need a massage afterwards. My therapist (I can’t remember his name) really listened to my concerns and worked well.
The roomed was comfortable and had a couple oscillating fans which was a huge plus, since I usually get warm dying a massage. The oils used weren’t scented, so I enjoyed that.
I’d have given them 5 stars if their price was what I had anticipated. I booked a Swedish massage, but they changed it to «therapeutic» and didn’t tell me. I’m not too keen on being charged $ 15 more for a massage that was no different than a regular massage.

We had booked appointments here to get our hair done for my best friend’s destination wedding in Key West. Myself, her sister and the bride all were scheduled at 12pm and when we arrived they were immediately ready for us which was great since we knew the day was going to fly by with so much to prepare! The bride was the first to sit down and Elena immediately started to ask great questions to get a pulse on what type of hairstyle she had in mind and understand the conditions we’d be in (on a boat). She took her time and asked for our feedback along the way. The bride had very short hair but Elena did some magic to give the appearance or thicker hair without adding any fake hair — it looked fabulous! She was also able to get an impromptu eyebrow wax while we were getting our hair done.
Next, I was up and had my Pinterest picture ready to go of a braided up-​do. Elena styled my hair with ease and gave it some extra flair with another wrap around braid in the back and the illusion of a thicker braid in front (I have lots of hair but it’s thin). She used what seemed like 25 bobby pins to protect the style and they were so expertly hidden, you couldn’t see not one! My hair held up so well, I was in a wedding on a boat, partied until 2am and slept in it and was able to wear it the same the next day and it still looked amazing!
The bride’s sister had longer hair that was styled into a beautiful detailed bun that had many facets and had a modern flair! We all loved our hair and Elena was such a sweetie as were the other folks who worked there who really made the bride feel special on such an occasion. As we were getting ready to leave, they called us back and added fresh orchids to all of our hair! Simply beautiful and the perfect touch! I would highly recommend this salon to anyone who is traveling to Key West for an wedding, or event where they need an amazing hairdo! 3 Thumbs up for Elena, she rocks!
