we chanced upon this café after visiting the Ernest Hemingway house. this is another excellent Unilocal find. service was friendly, ambience was Key West artsy and food was even better. the Lobster Benedict was a tasty fusion delight and even the pancakes and omelets were unusually not run if the mill and the kids even said good things about them.

Excellent breakfast locale. Many interesting menu choices. Much more room than it looks like from outside and than have both indoor and outdoor seating. Opens at 8:30 not 8:00 but it was well worth the wait. They also serve Key West Sunset Ale!

Nice outdoor dinning for breakfast or lunch. No stress. The menu includes something for everyone. Been the most consistent in quality on the island.

After walking around the island we wanted to grab a bite to eat before heading to the Hemingway house. This was right across the street and the name caught my eye(I’m a huge cat lover) so we decided to give it a try. We arrived at an off-time, kind of in between lunch and dinner. We were one of only about 3 tables and the service was extremely slow. After waiting almost half an hour for our food to arrive the server only brings my dish and states that the machine that prints out the orders for the cooks ran out of tape and that my boyfriend’s order got cut off so we would have to wait even longer! We decided to cancel his order and split my entrée(shrimp sandwich) and it was nothing to right home about.

This place had a great brunch menu(plus it’s located right next to the Hemmingway House AND named after his first 6 toed cat). I had the lobster BLT sand which, which was good — but super dry. My boyfriend got their specialty fish omelet of the day and said it was the best that he’s ever had. It’s also a bit overpriced, but it’s in a great location and has good food.

First of all, I came here because I love cats. Second, I wanted to take a break from walking all day exploring Key West. Service: Good I think the restroom is a bit weird. Food: French toast was disappointing. Price: expensive for mediocre food.

Pleasant, delicious lunch in a quaint little café. Since I have two cats(unfortunately neither have 6 toes) I had to stop in. It was a nice departure from the obligatory seafood and 2 for 1 half-meter booze drinks on Duval Street. I was able to sit quietly and just relax.

Minutes away from the Hemingway house. Key lime pie is pretty good! Great place for brunch.

After eating the delicious breakfast food, I was followed all day by an actual six toed cat. This is a clear sign. 5⁄5 would eat here again to be followed by Sir Mittens

Ducked in to this excellent find and loved it, here’s why: * Unilocal assisted! * Lynds and Lexi reconed the joint. Good girls. * Fresh OJ. Super fresh. * Massive Mimosas. Big glass. With aforementioned OJ. SCORE! * Lobster Eggs Benedict was a life-changer! A full Florida lobster tail on each muffin. * Steak and Egg Burrito was the BOMB! * Excellent, excellent coffee. Remarkable. * Superb service and no wait. JACKPOT! * Indoor and Out of doors seating. This place rocks. Keep up the good work. The price was better than expected. Get here, FAST. Cabeza OUT!

My wife and had the bennies, Lobster and Hogfish. Both were very good. My wife had the lobster, which was better, darn it! They gave her two large pieces of lobster; about a half of a lobster tail! No cat on the menu though. We will be back!

A surprise find as we have been in Key West twice before, but only just noticed this place. Had to give it a try. The folks that work here are very nice and polite, the food is great! I had the spicy shrimp salad which is in fact a little spicy… but delicious. I also highly recommend having a slice of Key Lime pie before you leave. Don’t feed the chickens/roosters! Do try the food, come to relax, don’t be in a rush and enjoy!

Well, here we go again, another key west restaurant that needs a kick in the ass. Great location, awesome looking menu, and just crap for service. After reading a bunch of other reviews I can see a pattern. First your service SUX, followed by your prices are too high, fix the first problem and people won’t complain about the prices. Your host, waiter, and appears to be the manager needs to find a different profession, maybe go back to whatever non customer facing job he had last. Rolling your eyes, whining, and generally providing passive aggressive behavior toward customers is just NOT acceptable. Wake up management/owners. But given the prevailing trend in key west this year, hiring good management and providing good service are definitely a problem with many places. So Unilocalers, stay clear of this place, unless you like being treated like they are doing you a service by allowing you to eat at their restaurant. Too many great choices in key west to waste time and money on the crappy ones!!! Fixing the world on slap at a time.

Claiming to have the best key lime pie in Key West is a mighty large statement. Sadly, this place fell far short. Service started well– but either lost interest in us or knew that the half eaten pie on our plate was evidence we do not agree with their claim. I say skip this place entirely-in favor of far better pies.

My friend and I stopped in here on a rainy morning during our walkabout to try something new. I have always seen this place rocking, so thought this a perfect opportunity to try without the onslaught of tourists. Upon entrance we were immediately greeted and shown to our table. We chose to dine inside do to the weather. The décor was cheery and the appearance very clean. The gentleman server was very hospitable. The house coffee was perfect, I drink it black so it was not too bitter, and the refills came frequently. My friend ordered an omelet which she said was very good and thoroughly enjoyed. For myself I ordered the French toast. Unfortunately, I found this dish very disappointing. I don’t know how they even got the burn around the edges, but this is not a dish I would recommend. The sausage patties were average and tasty. I think I must have missed the mark on what to order here, as many of the rave reviews came for the more elaborate dishes like the Benedict.

This place was quite a disappointment for us. The service was just ok. The food was mediocre. I had a lobster sandwich, but the food was prepared so that I barely tasted the lobster. The coffee was disappointing. Price to quality ratio was just not worth it. Lots of better places around there — I’d recommend you try out another place.

They are located across from the Hemingway House. That extra toe is put to good use in the kitchen where they pump out done purrrfect meals. We came for breakfast but they told us we could also order off the lunch menu which was great because they have some fabulous looking lobster sandwiches for lunch. We went with the lobster eggs Benedict and the fried lobster BLT. You don’t get the measly miniature lobster trimmings that some places serve. No, The lobster chunks here are huge! They are 8 oz chunks. They have by far the best lobster eggs Benedict in Key West, and the best I have ever eaten. They are $ 2-$ 5 pricier than at other restaurants in Key West but well worth it. You do get your monies worth and they are delicious! The fried lobster sandwich was equally great. My wife loved it and we are planning on eating here again during this visit to Key West. Chet was our waiter and he was fast, friendly and efficient. This place has shot to the top of my recommended Key West breakfast spots.

We had incredible lobster eggs benedict with avocado.(I think I posted a pic) It wasnt too busy when we went but I would imagine it gets packed simply because its next to Hemingway House(which explains the name and all the cat artwork and knick knacks for sale) Staff is very friendly too.
