Husband and I went and stayed at the bed and breakfast on the water 2 blocks away. Thought we would give it a try despite the bad reviews. First, our service was GREAT! Our server was knowledgable and friendly. Second, our drinks were ok. Not a skilled bartender. No drink menu. But decent selections from the bar. Third, our steaks were WAAAAY over priced. We asked for medium rare more on the rare side and we got medium not even close to medium rare. Which was annoying as my husband had the prime rib. Fourth I added the shrimp skewers. If I had known how amazing the shrimp was I never would have ordered the steak. Super fresh shrimp and great service are what the 3 stars are for. Steaks are better at Applebee’s and cheaper.

Upon our arrival we let the hostess know there would be three adults and one infant in a carrier. The hostess ever concerned about our needs offered a kids menu for our 3 week old Grandson. Once seated, we ordered our drinks and an appetizer of Calamari. Unfortunately the calamari was an impostor. We googled fake calamari and we’ll just let you use your imagination on that one. We ordered our salads and steaks… The Caesar Salads were full portioned but there was a significant shortage of parmesan cheese, in fact we only found one or two infinitesimally small pieces. We ordered 3 steaks from medium to rare; what arrived was well done to very well over done. Our waiter very politely removed the offending beef and brought us a new round. Unfortunately, well cooked grass fed beef is still unsatisfying, especially when you are trying to cut the meat with utensils purchased at the dollar store. On the bright side, the baked potato was perfect, the waiter was very polite, the bus boy deserves a raise and the country singer was great! In short, I would recommend a call to Chef Ramsey in hopes of salvaging what could be a great place to eat. Did I mention the steaks were $ 30 plus dollars each ???

This Gary guys doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I visit this place every week and the food never disappoints. The staff is incredibly friendly and give amazing service. I thoroughly enjoy the new owners and appreciate what they have done to improve the place. Gary has no clue what good food and service is. Go out more, and go to Whiskey Creek, they know what they are doing.

I used to eat here on special occasions, as it was one of the very few places to get a real good prime rib dinner in Kitsap County. Around 2005, the standards had dropped dramatically and I had stopped coming. Two months ago, I heard it was under a new chef/owner and decided to give it another try. I’m glad I did! I had some shrimp skewers that were one of the best I’ve ever had, and the prime rib came out cooked perfectly. My date had hers’ ordered medium well, and it came with just a little pink in the center, still very moist and tender. I ordered mine medium rare, came pink throughout and tasted very good. My only advise is to not be in a hurry! The servers were polite and pleasant, but very slow. We were one of two tables in the restaurant, and felt like we were forgotten about on multiple occasions. The flip side is that when we asked for things, they were very accommodating. Not bad service, just slow. I will say that when I’m on this side of the sound and feeling carnivorous, Whiskey Creek will be my first stop.
