I ordered the ribeye with mashed potatoes and french fries. It showed up in a timely manner cooked in the way I wanted it. This place has a homey atmosphere with lots of memorabilia from the fifties/sixties. The only thing I found wrong with it was the cup size. A large is about the size of a medium at McDonalds.

The Royal has been a staple in Keyser for 110 years! And it has the dust to prove it! The restaurant has kept the atmosphere of a mid-century American diner and has a menagerie of collectable knick knacks displayed throughout the restaurant. The owner has political messages on the walls which creates an unwelcoming atmosphere for people who don’t agree with his«politics». The food has gotten better under the new management, but still leaves a lot to be desired. Don’t stray too far from a burger and fries and you’ll be fine.

Great little restaurant. If you like HD or Elvis memorabilia this is the place for you. The back room reminded my wife I’d a dining car on an old fashioned tail car. I had the Cheeseburger on Texas toast with green peppers — very good. Wife had the fish sandwich — also very good. Apple dumpling for dessert — delicious. Old fashioned diner feeling. Lots of locals. Cash and local checks only! No credit cards. I would certainly recommend this place.

I ate here this morning and couldn’t find it on Unilocal.Great family style restaurant. Excellent breakfast for a great price. Seems like half of Keyser was there. Check it out.
