It’s alright in a pinch. Good hot dog stale bun. Good shrimp, icky rice and hard potatoes in the potato salad. Combo basket was kinda sad for $ 8. Everything needed some seasoning. Everything cost us a whopping $ 27 without drinks that would have been better spent at Coconuts or Pita Paradise.

Loved finding this truck. Food was delicious especially the dogs. We stopped on our way back, too, and got a smoothie. One of the best ever. Eat in your car, drive up the highway and find a picnic spot, or settle into one of Bubba’s beach chairs. Whatever you do, try a smoothie. Only one choice, but it is sensational.

We stumbled upon Bubba’s while searching for the infamous Turtle Town– there were no turtles to be found that day but the trip was worth it for Bubba’s. The shrimp jambalaya is spot on. Full of flavor cooked just right, I only wish there was more of it. The prices are good for the island and there’s a yummy topping bar with fresh pineapple, jalapeños and tomato to add to your plate. You can chill out in the beach chairs by the truck or take it to the beach. All in all just really tasty food.

I found them! Before arriving in Maui, I bookmarked Bubba’s truck as a must-eat place, especially after noting they were out not too far from where we were staying. On our last day there, we stopped by Big Beach and the black sand beach that isn’t too far from the Makena resort. And I had my eyes peeled for a red food truck. Lucky me, I found them on the side of Makena Rd. just south of the Makena resort. I ordered the lemon garlic shrimp plate, which was delicious! The shrimp and rice were smothered in the lemon garlic sauce. My husband ordered the pork and pineapple dog. I thought it was going to be sausage topped with pineapple chunks, but the pineapple is actually inside the sausage. There’s a bunch of fresh toppings on the side of the truck that you can choose to top your dog with. My husband put tomatoes, mangoes, sauerkraut and onions. Can’t remember if he added any ketchup, but I highly recommend the pork and pineapple dog! Perfect ending to a food-filled trip!

Since my last trip to Maui three years ago I have dreamt about this food truck. It was one of those instances where I thought there was no way it could be as good as I remember. Oh but it was… and more. This is truly some of the best food my wife and I have had in Maui and its on a dirt road with 4 lawn chairs, not some fancy $$$$ rated restaurant. The price for what he serves up is a steal. My wife and I had two of the shrimp plates — one Cajun and one garlic parm. Both awesome. But everything is good. Gregory is awesome to talk to and embodies the aloha spirit. Mahalo!

This food truck is awesome!!! The guy working there is very kind and makes good food when there’s not much else on that mile stretch of beach access road. I adored the fruit smoothie(guava, pineapple, mango and strawberries) and would definitely get that more often. It is the perfect consistency and filling enough for a few hours! Also it’s only $ 5 so a steal really for what I think was a 16oz cup. We also tried the lemon garlic shrimp plate that delivered in deliciousness in regard to a shrimp and rice dish. The two hot dogs we tried were the Hot Link and the pineapple dogs. We reallllllly loved the hot one, and could eat this very often and the pineapple dog was also yummy, not as great as the hot link though! There are like 4 lawn chairs outside to enjoy your food at as well!

Do not sleep on the food trucks on Maui. After surfing of sunning, come here for refreshing drinks and of course Hawaiian hot dogs. I prefer the shrimp with white rice plate… but I’m hella Polynesian. Aloha.
