Good burgers and crispy onion rings! Nice place to catch lunch. Oldies music and a classic diner look. Shakes are great too! Will come again.

Really cool place. Burger and onion rings were good. It is like an old school burger joint from the 50s. We had shakes too and they give you the metal mixing cup as extra which is cool.
We will probably come back again before we leave the island.

This place is horrible! It’s dirty, smells, vinyl booths had cracks in the seats, took an hour to be served, staff has a bad attitude, steak was a cheap cut with too much fat and served cold and they do not sell beer!

Bad experience here! Waited over an hour for food. Waitress apologized twice for the long wait. There were four in our party. When we asked why so long, they gave us an attitude —«it is not our fault!» Other people who came in after us, got served before us! We asked for order to go! It was totally cold after a few minutes after receiving it. We will not come here again. Diner on the dirty side!

What a disappointment! The 10 of us went to dinner on Whale Day and everything was cold, and over cooked except for the Rosalani ice cream! Don’t bother and go somewhere else— as our 50 minute wait (!) didn’t justify the time, money nor anger at being ignored. It should have been obvious to us that next door at «Coconuts» they had a line out the door and Peggy Sue’s wasn’t really busy. Shame on you Peggy Sue’s management and owner.

Skip this place at all costs. Dirty dishes on the counters. Super slow service. Asked for water twice. Asked for our check. NOTHING!!!
Food was marginal at best.

Walked in and all tables were empty but not cleared off. We sat at one with the least amount of dishes. Head guy came and wiped down left it all wet. Ordered. Took forever. Meantime I watched head guy and waitress. Take breaks. Eat. Have a cigarette break all without clearing or cleaning any of the tables that were a mess when we walked in. Trash on the floor that they just stepped on and walked over it. Never picked it up. Place was a pig pen. When we left all Tables were still dirty and head guy went out for another break. Won’t be going back. Totally employees don’t give a crap. I would have fired them all.

The first time I came here service wasn’t too bad. Today, service really sucks. They take forever to even offer us a drink.

My niece’s birthday dinner. She chose the place because of the milkshakes. Since Ruby’s Diner closed, this was her second choice. I’ve heard about the place and haven’t eaten there in several years. The quality of food and service has gone downhill. Three people in our party of seven ordered the New York steak. We all wanted our steaks to be medium. One of us got a medium steak. Another had a rare steak and the other had hers well done. By the way, I highly doubt that the steaks were New York strips. Someone else ordered the teriyaki chicken, it was overcooked. Both the steaks and chicken was drenched in soy sauce. The only redeeming part of our dinner were the milkshakes. They were well made and very delicious. I would never go back there to eat a meal again. But I would go back for dessert. Hire a better cook. P. S. — If you’re going to serve steak, you should have at least some steak sauce. If you didn’t have any, you could have walked to Longs Drugs next door to buy some. Plus my water glass was empty for half the evening. Never came to check on us until we were ready to leave.

This place used to be great. Just went the other day and they have standard patties for all their burgers rather than freshly made. The teriyaki burger used to be oozing with juice and sauce. I couldn’t even taste the teriyaki in the burger. The jukebox was broken. :(
We won’t be going back.

The BEST milkshakes anywhere in Maui. Seriously. This milkshake will compete with any of the best from anywhere else. Service was excellent and we will definitely go back!

Our second time here in a few years. I had the Be-​bop-​a-​lula Burger with avocado and sautéed onions and the wife had the good old King Burger. A fountain cherry Coke topped this diner meal off. The service was quick, the food was tasty, and the staff kind and cheery. Not sure what the other naysayers are on about, this place has good diner food!

We have been coming to Maui yearly and had never tried peggy sue’s. I’m so glad i had an appointment at the Kaiser in the strip mall parking lot adjacent to peggy sue’s. After my appointment myself & my husband hobbled on over to give PS’s a try and it was amazing!!! The very sweet waitress «Lou» was fantastic in helping me find something i would like. She gave me a sample of the amazing potato salad also the eggnog shake both were nothing short of amazing… i ended up settling on the bacon. Cheese burger and it was a party in my mouth. Then Lou did the ultimate she made me a strawberry sprite and is was phenomenal.

My wife loved the fish sandwich, tasted fresh and flavorful. She enjoyed the potato salad. I had the bacon cheeseburger well-​done. I heard the grill guy yell out «here’s the well, well burger». Pink thru out the burger. As a rule, I never send food back at a diner type place. Lack of faith I guess. Anyway the silverware was dirty, as were the water glasses.
The waitress was exceptionally nice. Won’t be back.

I was observing how the manager was treating what looked liked to be a new employee. She was telling her what to do/​not to do but when the new employee continued to do her job, I noticed the manager would look back to the other employees and laugh/​giggle behind her back.
Very unprofessional and I felt bad for the new girl. She seemed eager to learn. Manager (red hair), needs to treat her team with respect and equally. Sadly– I was not the only person who noticed, I looked over at a couple who also noticed as well.
I WILL NOT SUPPORT a business who treats people poorly especially there own employees.

This was our last meal on Maui before heading for the airport — it was very good and the milkshakes were delicious, they actually make the old time favourites that come with the metal container along side. Our food was simple but good — more down home style. Will be back next time nor that we know about it. Thanks for the great service too…

The work dinner place you can go to in Maui! The «Deluxe» Fish for 15 $ was terrible. It was so small that I finished it in one minute. And it was nothing special. It came with two (old fashioned) scoops of unsalted rice and one scoop of potato salad that didn’t taste great. Compared to other places in Maui the portion was really small. So disappointed.
The burger that my husband got was nothing that special either. I believe they should remove the (only) fish from their menu. We ended up there only because we here in a hurry to go to the airport and the nextdoor famous Coconut Fish Taco was really full: S

It’s been a while eating here. The good food taste has changed to being questionable. The music I enjoy. The memorabilia, and jukebox gives that retro feel I enjoy too.
Don’t plan to come here again.

We’ve been here twice, being locals, and the second time sealed the deal not to go back. The first time was ok, we were the only ones there for lunch and the service was a little slow (refills on drinks mainly). I’m ok if the food takes a little while because they do make it fresh it looked like. The second time we were there for dinner and there was probably 3 – 4 other parties there. The service was ridiculously slow and we had to track our waitress down to have her refill our cups with water, and the refill she filled with warm water. The food came out very slow… They make it fresh it looked like, However the food is just ok even if they are making it fresh. It lacks flavor and the hamburger I got was dry and nothing special. The chicken sandwich I got the time before was also just ok.

1-​Customer service sucks.
2-​They don’t check up on your table if you need anything.
3-​We drank all the water– did not get any refill.
4-​After getting our no flavor, dried hamburger steak plate– had to ask for our drinks. (Oh sorry bout that, I forgot).
5-​Workers are stuck on their cell phones and the television.
6-​Workers are stuffing their face with food. (I’m pretty sure it’s not even their lunch break)
7-​No hair nets on. (You could be eating hair so be aware)
8-​A lot of dust hanging over your head.
9– Potato salad was more like an egg sandwich filling. (Taste could have been better)
1-​Two of the workers are friendly.
2-​Oreo brownie Sunday was great.
3-​Soda was great.
4– I really love the old school diner theme.
5– Jukebox was amazing. (Just need more songs added)
