Vanessa at Silver Stitch is wonderful. Friendly, professional, accommodating, kind. She did an absolutely beautiful job on my daughter’s prom dress, hemming, darting and adding lace to the back to be a unique dress just for her. I won’t hesitate to use her skills. Mahalo to her!

Vanessa did an amazing job with both my wedding and reception dresses. They both fit perfectly after the alterations, it was done quickly without any hassle.

Did a great job with steaming my wedding dress and pressing my husband’s suit for our wedding day. Very easy to work with and affordable prices. Just be aware that she takes cash so make sure you have enough with you. She even accommodated an unexpected change in our travel plans. Awesome service!!!

Vanessa is amazing! I originally went in just to get measurements taken but had such a please tell experience went back with my fiancé, our wedding wear, and a few extra side projects.
She is incredibly sweet, to the point, and affordable.

So so thankful for Vanessa at Silver Stitch! I got married last November and had last minute jitters about my dress and decided to bring it to Vanessa to take a look. She took me in the same day I called (within an hour) and was so reassuring. She made me feel a lot more at ease about my dress and helped steam my dress and veil at a reasonable price. Turnaround time was 1 day.

Had a suit that needed to be let out (wife is just too incredible of a cook). Vanessa was awesome, had the changes done very quickly (sorry for the last minute request Vanessa), and the suit was altered perfectly. Vanessa was friendly, accommodating, professional, and great to work with! Highly recommended! Will definitely return to have the suit taken back in once I get my lazy self on the treadmill again…

My strapless Donna Morgan maid-​of-​honor dress was too long, and I also wanted some removable spaghetti straps in the same material because I planned on dancing a lot. I made an appointment with Vanessa, she is booked way out, but squeezed me in so I would get my dress back in time for the wedding — with a buffer in case I needed any more changes.
She is very pleasant to work with and gave me a lot of great advice about how to care for the dress and to pack it in my carry-​on on my way to the wedding and plan to steam it when I arrived.
She also hemmed my dress to a perfect length for my 5’1″ frame, and the straps were made from the extra material.
I definitely recommend her and will go to her again, mahalo Vanessa!

I was looking for a good place with reasonable prices for my wedding dress alteration so of course I get on Unilocal and see Silver Stitch. I was a little apprehensive because of some of the reviews saying it was out of someones home, but the more you live on Maui the more you realize that a lot of the best business are out of a person’s home. Since I had just moved to Maui I didn’t have many people to ask around about alterations, luckily one person I did confirmed that Vanessa was the one to go to. My friend had used her for her wedding dress and continues to use her for regular alterations.
That being said, she did a great job with my dress. She made me feel so at ease upon first meeting. She talks to you throughout the whole process, about anything and everything! Its like you have known her for years! She had in mind what she wanted to do with my dress to make it easier for me to walk to the beach, since I was having my wedding at the beach, and the reception. She made sure to hide the hooks where the train would be pin up well, and made it look beautiful and flowy while it being pinned.
Vanessa does not only wedding dresses but Prom dresses, she is very talented at what she does and very reasonably priced!

Vanessa at Silver Stitch is absolutely wonderful and her business is definitely NOT closed! I went to Vanessa to get my dress steamed a few days before my wedding. She also put in a new hook and bustled my dress… all at a very reasonable price. She did a wonderful job; the dress looked fantastic. Also, Vanessa was very personable. She gave me some great tips on how to look good while walking down the aisle and made me feel at ease. I highly recommend Silver Stitch!

Silver Stitch is a business run out of a woman’s apt in Kihei. I had put a hole in my wedding dress and was beside myself. I can not remember the woman’s name but she is wonderful. She was calm and accommodating. When I met with her which was 3 days before the wedding, she not only could fix the hole but the whole dress. The seamstress that I went to in San Francisco had not done a great job. The seams were an inch thick and puckered. It made me look fat and the lining was too big for the dress. It basically was a mess. She fixed everything in a day. When I put it on, it fit! It laid flat and was perfect. It was a blessing in disguise that I put the hole in it. Here’s the surprise– she only charged me 60 bucks! I had paid 300 in SF for this other woman to mess it up. If I would have know about this woman, I could have had her do it the week before when we arrived and it would have turned out better and cheaper!
