Julios Beach Burritos

The staff was extremely friendly and gave us samples of the different types of meat before we decided on our order. The burrito with chile verde was good but nothing too special.

Julio and his wife run such a lovely taco truck that serves better food than many Mexican restaurants we have been to in NYC and LA. The couple’s service made the food even better. We were visiting while on our honeymoon and were pleasantly surprised when we were offered endless samples of meat & sauces and also when Julio gave us a little «souvenir» when we finished our meal. We had a burrito (which Mrs Julio split up ½ beef, ½ pork for the indecisive ones like me) and a chicken taco. Everything was marinated to perfection and they even had 3 homemade sauces plus 10+ others to top off with.
A must-​eat if you come to Kong Lung or pass by Kilauea!

Very very good fish tacos, so fresh and sooo tasty. The people who work here were super nice. A must stop if you are in the area.

Get the Mexican Breakfast Burrito, I think it’s called. Excellent and filling. Super friendly staff. Came here twice in a week. Water was $ 1. Highly recommend.

We showed up at 10:30 for breakfast and waited 15 minutes and Julio never showed. As we pulled out of the parking at 10:48 he was driving down the road. We choose not to wait as there were already a handful of people waiting and it would take at least 10 minutes to set up. Not good to show up to work late Julio!

Awesome. The food was great and so was the service. My Ono tacos could not have been better and my husband loved his burrito. Parking was easy and Kilauea is only a few minutes away, so take out works well. We would go every day if the truck was open for dinner. Sadly they will be closed ⁶⁄₂₉ — early July, so we can’t enjoy them again this visit.

I enjoyed Julios Beach Burritos. Friendly service, and solid food. The food has gone up slightly in price from the older menu posted here (burritos are now $ 10 vs $ 7) but that’s still reasonable for Hawaii. When it comes to burritos vs tacos, order burritos if you want significantly more food in comparison.
I highly recommend the fish. Julio buys the fish directly from the fishermen who typically catch it the same day. All of the fish on the island are fresh, but this is a different level. There are shaded tables near the food truck and it’s a BYOB type of place.

Absolutely delicious food! The owner and his wife are so wonderful! They will have you taste all the delicious meats to pick your favorite. I got the chili verde beef burrito with veggies and my husband got the chili verde chicken with veggies burrito. They were both absolutely to die for delicious! They are very big, they split them in two for us and packed them in a take away bag. We had lunch and dinner. Prices are great– $ 20 for two burritos and like I said, that was two meals for two! We will definitely try the Ono fish tacos next time!
The truck seems to be there some days and not others, so you may want to call to verify they are there if you aren’t staying in Kilauea.

Julio is hilarious, so charismatic, and you can tell he truly loves what he does.
Ask the lovely ladies for a sample of the meats — Julio suggested this to us — and get tacos/​burritos of your favorites. Our favorites ended up being the Chile Colorado burrito, Machaca pork, and the fish tacos where the fish is cooked to order! Julio also makes his own hot sauces and salsas and yummmm they are great.
He sets up tables, chairs, and big umbrellas to shade you from the heat. My boyfriend and I both downed a burrito and a taco each, and wish we had gotten more. Mahalo Julio, you rock.

There are no breakfast places in Kilauea but this great truck.

How could such good food come out of a truck???
The first day we went I got shrimp quesadillas. Amazing… I didn’t even know I liked shrimp quesadillas until I got them that day. The best part is that my son loved it too. He’s quite the picky eater but loved the kid’s sized chicken burrito. He loved the little sample they gave him to make sure it wasn’t to spicy and he said it was really good and wanted more. The nice lady said their fisherman was coming in with a big ono later so I stopped by again the next day and had fresh fish tacos… Great food man. Kid’s chicken burrito again for my son and my one year old daughter had a beans and rice mix. I liked having the fresh salsas, sliced jalepeno bar, and tons of spices to kick it up a notch. The best! If you’re on Kauai, stop by this taco truck.

So incredibly yummy! We come here a couple of times a week… if not more. Doesn’t help they are on the way home from my son’s school Best fish tacos you’ll find on the island! Their shrimp tacos are amazing as well. Owners are super sweet too. They’ll give you a taste test of whatever you want!

Best.Tacos.Ever. Seriously… This was the best find of our trip to Kauai and the best food we had. Shrimp tacos were divine and the beef burrito was delectable. And Julio… What a guy… He came out and greeted us personally and made sure we had what we needed and talked about his history. That’s a guy who loves what he does and is great at it! Will recommend this gem to anyone I know visiting.

Food was ok, the man and woman who run this truck are great really nice, they let you taste everything before you order, the best was the chorizo that’s what I would recommend!

(Kauai resident review) This place is good for many different reasons! First, the food is really good, especially the Mexican burrito. Second, the location, no parking issue. Third, the ownership, family run and operated.

Best fish and shrimp tacos in the world! Seek this place out if you have to because it is absolutely worth it.
I wish I could remember the five things that we had but the only two I remember are the machaca with pork and the shrimp taco (because they were out of fresh fish). Everything was very tasty but the husband and I agree that the shrimp taco was bomb, a total explosion of flavor! I drool just thinking of it and cannot wait to get back to Kaua’i to have this again! Next time I will have it everyday! I wish I had known sooner!
It was our first time to this place so the owner provided a sample of each dish. They were all very tasty so it was difficult to choose. Both the owner and her husband were very friendly and patient as we took our time deciding.
We highly recommend this place! Most definitely worth the trip out.
