Touch of Kaua’i Day Spa

My husband and I came here for a well-​deserved massage after a tough period of wedding planning and the wedding day itself. We’re also massage therapists, so we are naturally picky on what kind of therapists we want working on us. But since we’re here on our honeymoon, we only had our intuition to help us. We could have gone anywhere, but we didn’t really care so much for ambiance, but we did care for the quality of the massage.
We booked a couples massage and we got Jana and Vanessa. Jana worked on me while Vanessa worked on my husband. Jana was incredibly impressive as a therapist. I was looking for more of a massage which helped me to release some of my body aches and I felt she was in tune with what was going on with my body. My husband loved his massage from Vanessa. He was looking for more of a relaxing massage and he slept like a baby. That’s something more of what he looks for, anyway. Jana and Vanessa are a great couples’ massage team; they were both seamless in their work and we didn’t suspect any awkward movements from them (since the couple’s massage room seemed small).
My husband and I enjoyed our experience there and will definitely go again when we return to Kauai. We will make sure to get Jana and Vanessa.

I have had many massages, some good, some god awful. These girls are amazing. Summer booked a couples massage for my wife and I and she went above and beyond. They were booked up but she tracked down a second massage therapist for us so we could have the day and time we needed (we were leaving the next day). Summer and Megan were our massage therapists and they did not fail us. And the girl who greeted us was a rockstar — super social and friendly.
In general the energy there was great and the girls are very laid back so you feel comfortable. Not only are they awesome at what they do, their prices are the best on the North Shore. When we come back we will be making these guys one of our regular stops.

Avoid this place. My wife and I had a lovely couples massage and then two days later, the owner changed the price and upcharged my credit card. 2 phone calls and one visit to the spa to speak with the owner, but she refuses to deal with me. Wow, customer service at its worst. Probably figures that tourists are there and then gone so what the heck. Stay away!!!

If you want to go in for a wax I highly suggest you do not come 50ft with a wooden stick. I missed a wax appt back home and figured I could get it done in Kauai. I walked in everything seemed fine. Clean and comfortable until my wax started and it was the beginning of a horror story. I got a lip, underarm, and Brazilian. This was by far the worse wax I’ve ever had.
It started with lip and the first strip she has trouble with but I just sat and waited for it to get better. My esthetician was really nice but her skills fell short leaving hair left over hair on almost all of my services. She’s the only waxing girl there so you will get the same person. She also seemed nervous didn’t know where to put the wax. I could have done a better job getting those strips from grocery store on my lip.
My usual appointment takes 20 min in and out. 2 hours later and there’s still hair. The esthetician must have had an astigmatism because she was going over places where there was nothing and completely missed where there was. The room was completely dark. She complained that it must have been the humidity and the wax but it was never her actual fault. When I suggested her things my esthetician would have done like put more powder so the wax would grab the hair better she simply blamed the humidity and «that doesn’t work like that here». My esthetician has 20+ years experience she from Brazil and knows Brazilians like the back of her hand and for this woman to say «oh it doesn’t work like that here» is an excuse because the climate is almost the same as Brazil. She would also try and remove the wax when I could feel it hadn’t already set/​hardened More pain for me.
By the way, when I looked at the woman’s fingernails they were filthy. She just smeared the wax all over very sloppily and didn’t leave any type of lip so when she was lifting to remove it would pull my hair which is painful. She also was applying in the direction it was growing but removing it was in that same direction as well. Under my knowledge you’re suppose to pull oppositely .
She couldn’t seem to take direction of what I wanted. I had to explain more that a handful of times what I wanted. A triangle and the rest gone. Simple. She suggested that «after I do a wax I should shave and make everything completely smooth.» What is the point of coming to get a wax if I have to shave after. Which I don’t shave in the first place so that defeats the purpose. If she’s suggesting that you know it wasn’t as clean as it could be.
I left with hairs still left on lip, broken hairs, overly worked areas, and almost bursting out in tears to my boyfriend. I held my composure inside but this was my experience and I hope NO ONE goes through the same bs I had to go through today. There massages may be great due to reviews but seriously DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY, OR YOUR VACATION GOING HERE.

Amazing massage. My boyfriend and I did the couples massage. Thr massage was good and pressure was perfect. We both felt completely relaxed afterwards and I fell asleep during. Easy to use website to book as well.

My husband and I came here after booking a couples massage, which was a great deal at $ 120 for an hour (a Unilocal special). But we ended up going with another special they had for the 90 minute massage which was around $ 160. I had Stephanie, who was awesome — I’m pregnant and she really listened to all my requests and helped to undo some crazy knots in my neck and shoulders, all while helping me adjust my position throughout to keep me comfortable (with the huge belly and all). My husband had Ella and said she was also great. The place is pretty new (just opened in January). It’s conveniently located in the mall in Princeville. Don’t waste your money on overpriced hotel spas — the therapists here are great and you can help support a local (and new) business.

Summer is an awesome massage therapist! She also is an excellent party organizer and did a great job on my retirement party!
