I would give this place 3 ½ if I could. It can be a hit or a miss. It is never really crowded and the service is good but the food seems to be missing a certain pop. But for a small town Italian its overall a solid place to go.

I must say that I was pleasantly surprised with this place! It’s located within the downtown commercial district and has a nice atmosphere. The menu is extensive with a large variety of pastas, chicken, veal, and seafood. My coworker and I each ordered the pasta primavera that has a tomato cream sauce. I also ordered a side salad. Our server immediately brought out yummy garlic knots and butter. My salad came out soon after. Although it was just tomato and lettuce, the tomato was fresh and the lettuce wasn’t iceberg. I got it with their house vinaigrette, which was a tomato based dressing and really good! The pasta came soon after and was delicious! The veggies were probably frozen, but the pasta was FULL of them and they were large and delicious. There were mushrooms, anchovies, zucchini, and even cauliflower! I was impressed with this place.

Took the wife here on a Tuesday night. The place was empty except for 1 other table. We stood at the from for a while wondering what we were supposed to do. A girl finally showed us to a table and after sitting there for 5 minutes without being greeted we left. Went to El Sombrero and had a great dinner. I was probably enjoying my shrimp quesadilla by the time Napolies realized we were gone.

We tried this place a couple of years back and were not fans. We have been here a few times lately and it’s much better. We love the pizza. Good crust, tasty sauce and a variety of toppings. They have great crusty rolls to eat before or with your meal. You can bring your own wine. They will cork and serve it.

Suppa– It’s been a long while since I’ve eaten here. The previous ownership wasn’t that good, nor was the food or service. After hearing there is a new owner, the bride talked me into coming in. Same atmosphere however the menu is expanded and the service, it was okay. I had a dish that needed a little something but was fine. Next time, I’ll order something else. The pizza is cooked in a stone fire oven. The table next to us had a pizza and we’re thinking the next time we order one, it’ll be from here. Much improved from previous visits which ended a couple of years ago. BYOB(wine)

Went to this quaint looking local spot with my dad. I was worried when I noticed the walls were filthy, food was crusted on the table sides, the cheap vinyl seats had holes in them and something smelled musty, but decided to give it a shot since it was full. Was enjoying the bread until a baby roach crawled out of the bread basket. Called the waitress over, she admitted it happens, and offered a fresh basket. I declined. She brought the food out but honestly, I couldn’t eat. As I sat waiting on my check another roach crawled out of the silverware. Worst 40 dollars I ever spent. Unless you’re ok with a dirty roach infested restaurant-don’t go. The manager never even made an appearance during the bug fest.

Food and service were both fine but nothing other than average. The Erza salad had some potential but ended up being a little bland and the shrimp scampi was fine nut nothing special. Service was ok but not great, so all in all, just average.

Two words: lobster ravioli. It comes swimming in a creamy tomato sauce that I could eat on its own like a soup, only that sauce is made exponentially better by the presence of lobster ravioli in it. I love that it comes with enough extra sauce to soak up into the soft, flaky rolls they bring out. Speaking of rolls, there’s a dipping sauce that you can order to go with those that consists of olive oil with herbs and garlic in it that’s superb. Between that and the lobster ravioli’s creamy tomato sauce, you’ll forget why there’s butter on the table. This little Italian place – in KILGORE of all places – has a surprising amount of seafood on the menu, which means that I never burn out on just my favorite ravioli, nor do I walk in the door already bored of everything on the menu. They’ve got everything from old standbys like veal parmigiana and lasagna to sandwiches to salmon and… mmm, that ravioli. The only downside is that it tends to get a little loud(and sometimes cold) because it’s a big, open space with little to break up or muffle the noise of, say, someone’s noisy kid who should’ve stayed at home with a babysitter. Sometimes it takes a while to get your food, too, so take some time to enjoy the buttery rolls. Overall, though, Napoli’s is a real treat and worth the drive over to Kilgore.

I love to order the lobster ravioli as suggested by a waiter. It has a delicious creamy sauce, but not overbearing. We also BYOB. Next time we want to try their pizza.

Great Italian food, especially for downtown Kilgore. Our service has always been excellent, and the recommendations by the servers have been very helpful. Murt usually waits on us when we dine in, and he is very observant and makes honest, helpful recommendations. I highly suggest the tortellini, as well as any of the chicken dishes.

This is a good find for Kilgore, Texas. The food was mostly good. The atmosphere was quaint. The service was at least quick if not a little over-familiar. I had the Franco Special and it was very good. My wife had a veal dish and thought the quality of the veal was awful. It was grisly and chewy. My son has the pork loin and said it was excellent. My other son had the fettucini Alfredo and didn’t much care fir it. My daughter thought the spaghetti and Caesar salad was wonderful. Two friends had ribeye’s and said they were«okay.» I like the fact that it is byob. It’s cheaper and you can get exactly what you want. The atmosphere looks like a remodeled hardware store. They got the food out quickly but one of the younger servers thought it would be funny to jack with us. Bad idea! The bread is excellent. I guess your experience is dependent on what you order. Slightly upturned face.

Napolis is just the restaurant for Kilgore. Located in a recently remoded two-story building in the downtown area, Napolis offers affordable, up-scale dining in a casual yet elegant atmosphere. With an extensive menu for both lunch and dinner, Napolis offers fresh, well crafted salads, homemade soups, and a wide array of entrees including veal and seafood. Each meal begins with a serving of better than usual bread with dipping oil on request. I would like to see a better grade of extra virigin olive oil but the generous sprinkling of garlic and herbs is just right. Their piccata(chicken, veal, salmon, or shrimp) is excellent with just enough lemon and capers to liven up the rich white wine sauce. Francos Special is an excellent choice for those who prefer a spicy entrée — jalapenos included. They serve an exceptional rendition of traditional veal and chicken parmesan. The only entrée tried thus far that was somewhat disappointing was the linguini with white clam sauce. Linguini was in fact spaghetti and the clam sauce appeared to be merely oil with clams added after the fact. Tiramisu is traditional and other desserts are available. No, they don’t serve alcohol but this presents a rare opportunity to purchase an exceptional bottle of wine and bring it with you. They do offer setups and cork service at no extra charge. Service is attentive but many servers are new and not as polished as expected in a restaurant with this atmosphere though I’m sure that will improve with time.
