This was our first time here and it was a great find! The front is a 1950s diner with a grocery store. We sat out back in a smaller wooden building decorated with middle eastern décor. It was lunch time on a Saturday and we were the only customers out back. We ordered the shawarma platter, kofte kebab and a 4 piece chicken nuggets for our toddler. My husband could not stop saying how delicious the shawarma was! The kofte had a delicious flavor and the little picked side dish was very interesting. The pita bread was warm and soft. My son enjoyed the kofte, pita and rice along with his nuggets. The servers were very welcoming right from the moment we walked in and continued until we left. We will be back!

Extremely friendly server. The tent seating is almost out of Arabian nights, very tastefully decorated. Food was good wish they would grill it as you order. I enjoyed my earring experience here. So I you don’t want a burger then try the kofta kabab here.

In our quest for anything but American food, I found this place on Unilocal. In the main building is a diner with counter service, like the old drugstores, and a few shelves of grocery items. Going around back, you find the main dining room which can also be a hookah Lounge. While I don’t know what it is, the hookah stuff is tobacco free. The décor is middle eastern and pretty cool looking. I can’t review the food cause we had already eaten, but we got 6 pieces of Turkish baklava, which is made with molasses instead of honey. Oh my gosh, so good! Next time in town, we’re eating here.

This is a very nice hookah bar. The owner is friendly. Hookahs stay very clean. They have pretty good food. My favorite is the falafel but the best part of the whole experience is the atmosphere. There is a store/kitchen that looks like an old diner and there is a back room where you eat and smoke the hookah and there is a tv, xbox, board games, and all kinds of stuff to do.

Authentic — if you want a middle eastern experience dine here. Food is delicious and fresh. Make sure you order the humus and bring home a piece or two of baklava. The décor is enchanting and makes you forget you are in Killeen. The owner is very proud of his work and showed us great hospitality. Can’t wait to go back. Tips: being our first trip we walked in the closest entrance which was the grocery shop, don’t be alarmed the dining area is out back. Food is being made fresh once you order so it takes a little bit, be patient for your meal and order an appetizer(humus).

One star is being generous… This place is creepy, we were the only ones there and the food was horrible. Waste of $ 20 for two wraps and no fries… very disappointed the food tasted old!

First of all let me tell you that this establishment is really something new and different for Killeen. The outdoor seating area is really nice and the customer service they offer is excellent. The owner is always helpful and provides you with detailed information on every item he has on his menu. This is a very relaxing 1001 night athmosphere and has a feeling of taking you back several hundred years. The food items are great and the tea is really good. My favourite is the chocolate strawberry tea. I would recommend this place for anybody who wants to hang out with their friends in a more private environment. Give it a try you won’t be dissappointed.

My mom and I went here a few weeks ago, and we were looking forward to some good food. We got hummus, schwarma, and the kabobs. We also got one of their specialty teas. Seating: it was lunch time and we were the only ones in the tent area. It was hot in there, and we were told that it takes a while for the back area to cool down. One of the staff put a floor fan near us, but it was still warm. Tea: We got the mint tea, and it was a waste of money. There was not enough ice in either glass and that melted immediately. The tea itself was very weak – tasted like tea-flavored water. Hummus: it was okay, but didn’t taste much different than store bought. Usually restaurant hummus is made on-site and amazing. Schwarma: it was okay. I have had schwarma several times in several locations and this was the least tasty. There were peppers in it and really kind of a let down. Kabob platter: came with rice, two kabobs about the size of hot dogs, and some grilled veggies. Overall it was okay, the kabobs were much more spicy than I was expecting. I like spicy food overall, but it was not what I was expecting. The rice and vegetables were good. If you are fond of Middle Eastern food and have had a lot of it, then I don’t recommend going, this will be a disappointment. We did chat with the owner when we paid, he seems like a nice guy.

I’m going back as often as possible. The thing is, a restaurant is more than going in and eating for me. I’m looking for an experience. I want friendly people, comfortable seating, enough lighting to read by, enough dim to be cozy, décor that’s pretty without being distracting and a certain something worth going back for again and again. This place has it in spades. Here’s the skinny: The Good: See above. The food was delicious. The seating was comfortable. The staff were awesome, leaving us alone when we wanted and appearing when needed. The prices are very reasonable. I know I’d charge more for stuffed grape leaves just because of how labor intense they are. The Bad: Honestly, not much. The glasses are the cheap plastic kind you would find in any 80’s pizzeria. That being said, if that’s all a person can find to nitpick about I would tell them to get a grip. If it were a million things wrong, I would point it out. As is, I’m going back and I don’t care about the plastic cups. The Skinny: The hummus is made by hand, the rice is perfect, the kabob was slightly spicy and well-formed without being over-handled. The Saudi Tea is sublime. I take mine with a dash of sugar, my husband is more traditional with almost 1⁄3 of the cup being full of sugar before the tea gets involved. The baklava is rich and dark, much better than the Greek varieties I’ve had. We stopped off at the grocery section and grabbed some Halva, dates, Lebanese bread and other yummies before departing. The prices were surprisingly affordable and I’m truly glad we gave it a go.

I found this establishment after doing a search for the highest rated restaurants in Killeen. My husband and I were getting tired of local eateries with poor service, uninspiring food, and bland atmospheres. Hupply Pupply is a little boat of fun in a sea of crap establishments in Killeen. The owner is so attentive, friendly, and passionate about his business, customers, and sharing his culture. The menu is small, but everything on it is good. To me, that’s better than a large menu in which only a few items are worthwhile. Quality over quantity. My husband and I like to get a pot of Chai tea when we go, and it’s delicious and sweet. The décor helps you feel like you are somewhere else other than Killeen, which is great when my husband and I are getting tired of the area. Happily Pupply’s atmosphere and décor make you feel like you want on a little vacation to another part of the world. There are exciting shows about once a month with belly dancers, fire spinners, and sword dancers. I don’t know of anywhere else in the region(even Austin) that has such unique shows. Alternatively, you can go on a week night and almost have the place to yourself. I like these quiet evenings with my husband, a pot of Chai, and baklava! Very relaxing. Whenever we have family visit, we bring them here. They have all liked it, too!

The owner is AWESOME! Best customer service I have had in a long time. Service was amazing! He speaks with you as a person and not just as a customer who they could care less about. The place was very authentic-like… The shwarma was good but it was the first time I tried it. Plus, I loved the Turkish coffee!!! He makes the baklava with molasses. There are parties at night. You can hookah here. He has some products without tobacco and uses molasses instead. Awesome, tobacco-free products to smoke… Come check it out! There is a grocery portion & they have Blue Bell ice cream too. They have chai tea and smoothies.

Me and two others ate here two Sundays ago it was good and a new taste for the others I really liked the Turkish coffee I have lived in and traveled the west Asian area and like the flavor of the food and the conversation with the owner and relaxed atmosphere

This place opened up down the street from us after the building had sat empty for the better part of a year. Me and my wife tried it, were not that impressed. The food was ok, and the owner was wonderful, but we sat outside because the diner area seemed a bit cramped. It was very windy and the waiter seemed to forget all about us out there. That being said, fast forward 2 yrs to the present. I started using Unilocal, decided I’d look for somewhere nice to take the wife for her lunch break. Hupply pupply popped up, I decided to see if things had changed. Checked out the reviews and the photos, a huge amount of change! The back area is now enclosed and decorated to look like one of the fancy tents from the middle east! So we went today and yes! The menu has been enhanced and the change of scenery is very nice! The new waitress also seems to be an assistant chef, so she is constantly busy, but she is very sweet and helpful. She gave me some advice on how to eat the grape leaf wraps that I never would have tried but that worked out very good. We got the mixed platter as a shared appetizer, the falafel is excellent! For our entrée we both decided on the fadet chicken. I’ll admit I’m not too into tomatoes or sweet things so the salad didn’t do to good with me, but the rice and chicken were excellent and you really can’t mess up flatbread and the leftover hummus from the mixed platter! Overall an excellent experience! The only reason for the 4 stars is that the décor is somewhat rushed seeming, but I talked to the owner and he said that he is going to the middle east sometime this summer and he plans to return with an authentic oversized tent, hangings included! Can’t wait to see how that turns out! Will update this post when it happens!

The service deserved more of the stars as the waitress was very sweet and hard-working, but the food deserved 0.5 stars. You can approximate the same meal if you go to Wal-Mart and grab a tub of hummus, and then some dolma and falafel from the Schwann’s man. I understand that Killeen, Texas, is not the destination hotspot for Lebanese style food, but this really was just terrible. The hummus was pasty and manufactured tasting, the baba ganoush(mutabal) was not smoky, and the dolma had that«scooped out of a jar» taste. My main gripe is that this type of food is really, really hard to screw up! The focus of this style of mezze is supposed to be fresh ingredients, minimally prepared to highlight the flavors. Big fail. It sounds like from previous reviews that the sheesha and games are fun, though?

I live right across the street from this place, and when I realized what it was — I was ecstatic. There are not enough mediterranean/egyptian places around Killeen. The staff is super friendly; especially the owner. He showed my friend and I the new additions they had just finished. I love that they are slowly expanding. The food is good, I just wish they had a bigger menu. I’ll definitely continue to visit this place though :)

Wow. What a surprise. This random little tin building holds a retired military owner and a great piece of baklava! We had a schwarma, grape leaves and hummus. Will for sure be back. Lunch deals are super cheap, full meal for 3.99.

Ok, a couple of weeks ago when I found an Egyptian restaurant on Unilocal in Killeen I was a little skeptical. I followed the IPad map there and thought I was being taken into the middle of nowhere & left for dead. Wow! A cool chrome diner with one guy there at lunch who made me one of the most flavorful lamb shawarma wraps I’ve ever had. He pressed it in a panini press and I had a side of hummus that was also excellent. Apparently his back patio area really hops in the evening. This man is an American Army veteran of Egyptian descent. He served our country and is now serving great food to his neighbors in Killeen! I’ll go back for lunch tomorrow.

This is an awesome place to hang out! It really is. They have an X-Box to play, a pool table, lots of seating in the their awesome back patio area, tobacco-free hookah pipes and a very friendly staff. I would like to see the menu expanded a little. I know it’s a traditional menu, but there are things I would love to go there to have such as nice salads and combination plates of what they offer. The prices are reasonable and the fruit smoothies are absolutely delicious! This place does not have a liquor license but it is BYOB and is dog friendly. SUPPORTLOCALBUSINESS!
