PITA DE JOUR

Loads of flavor! Really fresh veggies and the owner was EXTREMELY nice very friendly! I will be back.

I had the Lamb with Fries. Whole meal with drink is $ 12.
This little place is easy to miss, it’s tucked away across from the small HEB on Gray Street in the older part of Killeen.
The owner was really nice and yes he’s a one man show. The food takes about 20 to 30 minutes but he is only one man. My vibe is that he’s a middle-​aged man, maybe a Dad, who always wanted a restaurant and now has one. He seems to make everything to order, which is why it takes a while for the food. However, he’s very personable and seems to foster an old-​style of business-​consumer relationship. That is, he takes his time with the food, he talks to you, goes out of his way for you and that more than made up for the small and cold (30 degrees outside and no heat?) venue.
The food was not genuine Greek but more like what it is, which is a homemade pita with homemade ingredients. It was actually very good, not too heavy of a food. I ate the whole pita in about 3 minutes. Once I started eating it I couldn’t put it down.
I’ll probably go back and recommend it to other people who aren’t in a rush and want some good, non-​fastfood food.

Small place and it had a funny weird smel to it. The food was awful and owner was the only person there so it took forever to get our food. Go somewhere else.

It’s a one man show. The food took about 30 – 40 mins too make. Everything that we had was good but could have been hotter, and used more cucumber sauce. I also didn’t like the fact that the debit card reader is hooked unto a laptop. It was a great way too steer from burgers and other places in the area. I personally think more staff should be hired though.

So I went here awhile back because I was really craving gyro. The location is in a very rough part of town. It didn’t help that the owner told he had just got robbed and they stole everything including food items… Really? I was ready to go after that… but I couldn’t leave because my food was paid for already and took over an hour to get done.
I only ordered two sandwiches and french fries, you would have thought I ordered the whole menu.
The food is over priced and just okay, nothing to brag or talk about.

It’s a good tasty place in the heart of fast food central. I did hear the microwave go off a few times after our order was placed. Granted it’s a one person show and all. From reading the reviews below it is true that one’s order will take awhile to receive. My advice is to call ahead if you know what’s on the menu.
The fries are really tasty and the owner is nice.
It’s not authentic Greek/​Mediterranean cuisine, but it’s a change from Taco Bell, McDonald’s etc…
I had the lamb with cucumber sauce and it was tasty! It’s a quaint little hole in the wall! The décor is not uppity but it’s clean, check it out!

I ordered a Lamb Gyro
my thoughts: the food tasted pretty good, a fresh and light feeling which is good considering I eat fast food quite a bit. The only thing I forgot to ask was more Greek style ranch sauce. The owner was also very friendly.

I’ve read the other reviews of this place and find that they’re right. The atmoshere isn’t much to look at but the food was very good. The veggie pita was to die for-​lots of fresh veggies and a great flavor.
My husband wasn’t overly impressed with his beef pita but said it was ok.
Each basket came with a little chocolate candy inside. I thought this was a nice touch.
The owner is a very nice guy and has created an easy-​to-​use menu.
Bottom line: Give it a try.

The food here is really good it’s sorta like a gyro but it isn’t still dont know what it is really between a gyro & a soft shell taco/​burrito, but my friend brought me here & I only ordered a half of one & was craving more will definitely come back again
