Yikes. Ordered drinks & food, and that’s where it went downhill. We were the only ones in the restaurant eating, bad sign for a Saturday night at 5:30/6. We considered going elsewhere, but we figured why not give it a try. After finishing our first round of drinks and no sign of the waitress for a long while, a member of our party of 5 had to go up to the bar to ask for more drinks. Next came the food, one had the fish sandwich, another the fish & chips, and 3 of us had the filet mignon burger. YUCK. We all were thinking the burger would be made from filet meat that was ground into a beef patty, instead it came out as a small, paper thin slab of «filet» that was completely over cooked. The meat was so small that it looked minuscule and shrunken on the bun. Never mind the fact that it had a funky, odd taste to it. The fries were also not up to par considering they were«fresh cut.» They tasted as if they were fried in old oil & had no seasoning on them whatsoever. We are a fan of visiting small, local«pizza» joints as we are not food snobs, but this one will definitely be crossed off our list.

I took my wife and two kids here for lunch on Saturday 01/02/2016. They were very slow only one other table with diners. Still the service was pretty slow. The food was mixed as the cheese burgers were excellent but the pizza was burnt. The thing that I really did not like was when we got our bill the waiter lied to us and said there was a new law in effect and we could not tip with our credit card which we were using to pay the bill. I did have some cash with me and was able to leave the tip. Found out later a complete lie. I feel that if they could make up such a trivial lie about the tip then there is probably more dishonest things happening there.

Went one morning mid week for breakfast. Place was pretty full for mid week. I believe the owner or manager waited on us. We waited a pretty long time for our for food but I was understanding because he was the only server. It’s just harder when you have a little one with you. I felt that the service was pretty sloppy and food very sloppy. The little creamers left out on table were curdled — didn’t notice until I already used one. I ordered a veggie omelet and it came with home fries and bread. The bread was very good– made on site which I love. However, the omelet was really bad– first time I’ve ever has egg shell in my omelet! Like big chunks of eggshell– not a tiny speck! Thankfully there weren’t any in my little one’s scrambled eggs but it still made me nervous to feed her food that was obviously prepared so carelessly. Also the veggies were way too big for omelet — had large pieces of the stalk in it– yuck! The combination of first discovering the curdled Creamer and then the egg shell just really turned me off so I won’t be back.

Nice people Tasty food Interminably slow I like a good roadside place. My family vouched for it, having been before. The menu looked good, and broad. They even had a whole line-up of local Horner sodas, which made me enthusiastic. We had called ahead and were able to get seating all together for our party of ten, and were seated promptly. But once we sat down and ordered, the ordeal began. The understaffed crew kept running to answer the phone and take to-go orders while we gazed forlornly toward the kitchen, hoping food would emerge and make its way to our table. People sat down at other tables, were served, ate, and left. Still we waited. We began making jokes about calling in our order to see if we could pick it up at the front counter. We waited forty-five minutes for our first appetizer to arrive, 15 more for another appetizer to arrive, and a total of 105 minutes for our entrees from the time we ordered. If not for the fact that we had ten people and no alternatives readily available, we likely would have walked out. There was no one place to lay the blame, and luckily the food was tasty(or maybe my taste buds were just overjoyed after how long they’d waited), but this is an experience that would try even the most patient diner. I’m happy to see my feedback isn’t shared by other reviewers, so I might try it again — but I won’t return to The Gathering again without an emergency Snickers or something, in case this happens again. Sorry — can’t recommend it.

While the food is good and they say it’s all made fresh, we won’t be able to return. We had a group next to us sharing F-Bombs with each other and the waitress. We asked to move to the other side of the restaurant as we had our 7 yr old with us. After moving we continued to hear foul language from a new group joking around with the owner. It’s a shame that they allow and participate in that or we would be back.

I really like that this place feels like a small town place where the locals gather. I love that they make their own bread and the pizza dough is whole wheat. I’ve had 3 different kinds of pizza there as well as a BBQ beef brisket sandwhich. I like their pizzas but feel like the flavor of the sauce is lacking. All three pizzas have not been cooked all the way. Towards the edges of the pizza the dough was a little uncooked and the middle was downright soupy.

Today was my first visit and I was very pleased with a perfectly cooked(medium) bacon cheeseburger and their crispy fresh hand-cut fries. I always think that you can judge any restaurant on the quality of their fries(seriously!) because that will be an indicator of the level of quality you are likely to experience with everything else on their menu. So next visit, I will definitely try something more elaborate, such as the lobster roll.

Breakfast ends at 12. :( That being said we ordered the chix parm and a BLT. So far we learned that they make all their own bread, except rye. Omg. I have already tried their Easter sweet bread, grilled with butter. Very good. Their fries are fresh, handcut. So far it looks like a basic American diner. There is a small bar right at the entrance, bear right and there is a counter with the fresh baked bread.
