It is so nice to have a place like this local to the community. There is very few places in the county that you can take your kids to ride their bikes. Very few of the communities have any type of sidewalks and riding around on the neighborhood roads tend to be dangerous as there have been numerous pedestrians and cyclist hit on these roads. The trail is an excellent place for a low-impact hike or bike ride. There is essentially no grade and is very suitable for bike riding. There are a few spots where the gravel gets a little thick and makes it a bit harder to get through, but that is few and far between. They host an ultra type of run that could be fun if you are into long distance running. Overall we are very thankful and happy to have this resource in our community.

DRHT is a great addition to our community! Volunteers have worked countless hours to turn the old railroad into a wonderful trail for walking, running, biking, etc. It’s clean, peaceful and beautiful. This is a wonderful place to take the kids and dogs. If you start at the trail-head on Rt 605, the trail is very easy to walk or run on. As you go further in, the terrain gets a little more rugged, but volunteers are constantly working to make the trail easier to navigate. You need to visit the website and apply for a «Trail Use Permit,» but then you can use the trail at no cost. There is plenty of parking at the trail-head and at various other places along the trail. The Friends of DRHT website has a lot of useful information about the trail conditions, parking, and more.
