My entire life I can’t remember a time where the tip of my nose didn’t itch and where I could breathe easily through my nose. I just got used to it over time. Sometimes it would be a little better, sometimes it would be TERRIBLE. It got to the point where my grandmother scratched her nose once and told me «Every time I do that, I think of you.» HELLO wake up call! I realized it probably wasn’t normal to never breathe normally, and to look like I was a coke fiend in search of a bathroom stall to get my next fix. I finally went to my doctor a few weeks ago, and was referred to the Drs at Asthma and Allergy. When I called, they couldn’t have been nicer and immediately set me up for an appointment in the King of Prussia office a little more than 10 days later so that I could make sure all the antihistamines in my system washed out. After an uncomfortable two week wait, I went to my appointment on Wednesday afternoon. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Carolann, the receptionist. She was very sweet, got me registered quickly, and had the nurse come for me almost immediately. I met with the nurse, and then with Dr. Posner, and felt comfortable during both the question/answer phase and the physical exam part of the visit. Dr. Posner recommended skin testing and a lung function test, and the nurse came back in to administer. After finding what I was allergic to, Dr. Posner came back in and discussed all of my options, gave me meds samples, and worked out a plan with my input to move forward. Two days later, I’m still a bit uncomfortable where I reacted heavily to the skin tests, but the medicines are already working for my original symptoms, and I feel comfortable that eventually we will be able to get rid of my allergies! I highly recommend this office. The only thing that made me uncomfortable in the slightest was the skin test itself. No one in the office ever made me feel like I was silly for being there, or for not going for the last 20 years.
