Very nice looking dealership with great cars. Their showroom is impressive. The only and main issue I had with them is that they tried to rob me by offering $ 700 for my trade in. I had previously been offered $ 3000 for the same car! I ended up taking my business to another dealership and found the car I loved, and received $ 2750 for the same car! Yes, that’s almost four times what they offered me! That’s pathetic and they should be ashamed of themselves for how they try to conduct business. No wonder their facility is so nice… they receive all that money from robbing their customers and offering them way less than they deserve. I would not recommend!

I sold my car here. The staff are very nice, and don’t force you on any decisions or make anything difficult. They explained the entire process, and why the quote for my car was lower than what I could get by selling it private party. If you do sell your car here, make sure you bring everything they ask for: Registration, keys, title, and the car.

Just made my 5^th Carmax purchase — 4^th from this store. They made a mistake and I was admittedly upset. I called them on it and they were quick to make it right. They owned it and fixed it.
As usual, the kind of service I’ve come to expect. Excellent car, excellent price, excellent service.

Great experience. We had all our financing and documents together to make it a very easy process. Our salesperson, Ron Jackson was awesome. Super flexible, understanding and answered all our questions. Beautiful facility, no pressure, kid friendly, so grateful to have this experience. Kudos to Ron Jackson and the CARMAX staff!

I got my car appraised here, and had an incredible experience.
First things first — I got an appraisal that was in the upper range of my car’s KBB value. I didn’t have to haggle and didn’t have to deal with sexism that women experience at car dealerships.
The sales person who first greeted me, Judy Bongart was super friendly, and checked me in really quickly, and was a delight to speak with. The person who appraised my car did it in 20 minutes. The great offer they made convinced me to sell my car on the spot. The sale itself took another 15 minutes.
Everyone I dealt with was polite, friendly, and committed to excellent service!
I am super satisfied with my experience and would recommend everyone to sell their cars here!

I brought a car here to be appraised and was thoroughly impressed by the layout of the facility as well as the efficiency of the process. I came in a little earlier than my appointment time and was promptly checked in. They have an area for free coffee and tea and paid refreshments via vending machines.
My rep came out to greet me after a brief 5 minutes of waiting and went over the process of the appraisal with me while briefly looking over my car. We did some general data entry for CarMax’s system and the rep told me I could either wait in the lounge while the car was being appraised or take a look at their selection of cars. I chose the latter.
CarMax has a wide ranging selection of used vehicles with low mileage and at no-​haggle prices. I was honestly impressed with their layout and their pricing.
It took approximately 30 – 40 minutes for my car to be appraised and the overall process to receive the value on your car was about an hour or so. I was also impressed with the amount of money they were offering for my vehicle. All in all, it was a very good experience and I plan on bringing another car here to be looked at soon!

The place is clean with nice people. It’s a typical Carmax store. Some of the negative reviews are due to things the store doesn’t have control of like the fact your car had issues. I am sorry but that’s the risk of buying a used car. The place can issue you a warranty, when you deny the option that is not the stores fault. While I feel sympathy and that is unfortunate, your displeasure seems misplaced.
Any way… they gave me a free appraisal with no appointment that took roughly 40 minutes and the price was fair. I didn’t sell it to them as I have a week to decide but I still may.
Carmax in general cleaned up the used car industry. I am a big fan of the business model and this store seems to be inline with what you would expect.

Buy a car from carmax is a great experience, buying an extended warranty, not so much. I’ve owned 3 cars from carmax all with the Maxcare warranty added on. Not only is it a pain to get dealers to honor it, but when you live 2 hours away from the nearest carmax, getting them to do it is a pain as well. AND, it seems every single time I take any of my vehicles in for servicing, there’s something wrong with whatever was repaired AGAIN.
Here we go again.

I can’t believe Carmax is getting hammered in their reviews. I guess there’s a marked difference in the service quality depending on whether you buy or sell. My review is for selling only. In my opinion, there’s simply no easier place to sell a car.
This was my second experience with them and it was stellar. Within 40 minutes of walking in I had a check. Everyone was nice. There was even a place for my kids to play. What more could you ask for?

Man, do these guys make it easy. I made an appointment by email to appraise my car. At the appointed time, I walked in and my name was already on the board. A guy came, took a few questions, and showed me to a waiting room with refreshments. 25 minutes later, they come with a written offer that exceeds KBB for dealer trade.
As it happened, the dealer ended up meeting that price in trade, but if they hadn’t, I would have come right back. Judging from the appraisal process, I don’t doubt that closing the deal would be as easy as they say.

What kind of car dealership prohibits browsing on Sundays?! Went to look around and was greeted with a sign saying that the sales lot is closed «after business hours» and security will immediately respond to any «trespassers.» This is absurd. Will not be returning to browse with a salesperson breathing down my back (and given the other reviews, it looks like that is all for the best). Such a poor business policy.

Matt helped me out and explained everything really well. He was really professional.
Andy checked my car out and also explained everything really well, in a way I could understand. He was really cool and charismatic. Definitely seemed like a genuine, trustworthy, guy. Super handsome, so it’s kinda hard not to space out while he’s talking.
This was my first time at a Carmax, and it greatly exceeded my expectations… which were, admittedly, very low. Didn’t seem at all sketchy. I’d go back here.

Today (Memorial Day) I drove 3 hours (roundtrip) to the King of Prussia Carmax to get my Suzuki SX4 appraised. The appraisal was a complete joke. My car is a 2008 model with All Wheel Drive, low miles 33k, great condition overall. They start off by telling me the car completely checks out, no accidents, no mechanical issues, etc. I agree and then they come up with that they are unable to sell this car on their lots… they state that because it is a Suzuki and Suzuki has discontinued selling in the US they cannot sell this car on their lots and instead of offering me fair market value for the car they make a super low ball offer because according to the appraiser (Andy) they would need to sell my car at auction. I checked the Carmax website before I went and just now and guess what? They ARE SELLING Suzukis on their lots… yet this appraiser (Andy) at King of Prussia is telling me they cannot resell my Suzuki or offer me fair market value but would gladly buy my car at a low ball price. I could understand their refusal to offer me fair market value for my car if my car had mechanical problems or was in an accident but none of that applied in this case. Instead they came up with a new way to try to low ball me through the appraisal process. I thought Carmax was suppose to be a better alternative to other used car dealers but today they blatantly tried to take advantage of me through the appraisal process. I am upset I wasted the time to drive there, wait for the appraisal and then get that joke of an offer. The comments on the computer screen from Andy literally said «unable to sell…» complete bs
I have given King of Prussia Carmax good business in the past but no more… anyone that tries to fleece you is not worth doing business with. Suzuki owners beware this guy Andy might try to pull the same low ball tactics with your appraisal… I am going to file a complaint with Carmax headquarters and the BBB… I don’t think it is fair or right to discriminate against a particular car brand or model especially if that specific car is in great working order and has a clean accident history. To add insult to injury I think it is crazy one appraiser tells you they cannot resell your car when in fact the company is selling other cars of the same make on their lots.
Suzukis on the Carmax website as of today with comparable mileage and without AWD are being sold between $ 12,998 and $ 15,998…I wasn’t even offered 50% of the $ 12,998 sales price… ridiculous no?
Carmax, if you are going to discriminate against Suzukis at least put a disclaimer on your website… WE WILL NOT OFFER YOU FAIR MARKET VALUE FOR YOUR SUZUKI BUT WILL ONLY MAKE YOU A LOW BALL OFFER… this would save time, aggravation and be less deceptive.

As I sit here the car I purchased just 9 days ago is at CarMax. I had to have it towed $ 155.00. Today I was informed that the repairs would cost $ 934. Because they believe it is my fault I have to pay. I have bought cars from Carsense. Hell, I even bought 4 cars off E-​Bay. I have never felt so badly about any car purchase. STAY AWAY FROM CARMAX. They will never be on your side. This is purely an adversarial relationship. I will not only never buy another car from them but I will never use their service. From the appraisal on down this was the worst experience I have ever had.

The entire process was full of lies. I was told that a financing entity that I had previous approval for did not accept my file from the dealer. yet when I contacted the finance company I was informed that the dealership had never actually submitted my application to them. This was AFTER the manager informed me that it was submitted to all six banks.
While on the phone with the finance company the rep asked me for the reference number the dealership had received from the «rejection». CarMax was unable to produce the number and when requested to send the file again, I was told they were unable to send it through the system again for a specific bank. My financing company said they could fax the application information to the fax number on the application. AGAIN CarMax REFUSED claiming to have done their due diligence.
I was 6 hours in that office for nothing. My credit report was pulled AGAIN for nothing. It was obvious they wanted to use the financing company that would give them the biggest kickback and charge me the highest interest. I will NEVER recommend this place due to their deceptive tactics.

Crooked dealership. Sold me a car with an exploding passenger window and then told me it was my problem. Almost killed me and did not apologize or pay for anything.

This location has terrible customer service, poorly trained associates, and will waste your money.
Not worth it to be overcharged for a car and get a hassle at the same time.

We showed up on time for our appointment with financing already in place and a car picked out and it still took all day, almost 6 hours, to get out of there with the car.
It’s a new location and the inexperience of the staff showed. Our salesperson had to get up multiple times and ask for advice on how to use their software. We spent a lot of time just waiting around by ourselves. They didn’t seem very knowledgable, but the staff was friendly and put in a lot of effort to make us feel comfortable and apologized multiple times for how long the process was taking.
After everything is figured out and we’re about to go home, we’re told that Carmax will send us a packet with everything we need to register the car in NY. We think, great, at least that part of the process will be fast and easy.
The first time we take it to the DMV, packet of «everything we need» in hand, we’re told that Carmax didn’t include the original receipt, which we need to register the car. That’s a wasted day waiting around the DMV, but mistakes happen and we are okay going another time to get this done.
Carmax mails us the original receipt, we go back to the DMV, and we find out that they put David instead of Daniel on the car’s title, although Dan was with me to buy the car and we had Daniel on all of our paperwork.
By the time they’re able to update the title and overnight it to us, will we need to make a third trip to the DMV, and it’ll take so long that our temporary plates will expire in the meantime! Which means we won’t be able to use the car all weekend until we’re able to go back to the DMV on Monday morning.
That’ll be three days wasted at the DMV and another day wasted at the Carmax. By the end of this process, I’ll also be down 3 days worth of vacation time.

Best car buying and selling experience ever !! I did everything, I sold, traded in and bought from them. I was very happy with the whole experience– being greeted right away, the very informative and detailed information I was presented with about how they determine what price they offer and what things are considered and everyone was so nice, it was just such a pleasant experience.
As for their inventory – love it ! They have everything, suvs, luxury vehicles, trucks, large and small sized sedans, just a great selection. You get the best deal if you’re buying a newer car with low mileage. And you can have cars shipped from their other locations if you see something online somewhere else !
The best part is they don’t operate like a dealership, they don’t work off of commission, so there aren’t any douchebag car salesmen ! Best thing ever. You are able to look through their inventory on your own with no one around pressuring or annoying you.

Finally a carmax, it exist and not just online!!! I was very excited to see a real live carmax come to KOP. Although it is a chain, the young lady that took care of us was amazing. My cousins first car purchase (real purchase) and she walked him through the entire process, from test driving whatever we wanted to applying for a loan to handing him the keys.
This is a good place to get a car if you don’t know exactly what you want, but you want a no haggle experience with a great variety.
