*this place is AWESOME. It is not just another GameStop. *browse through tons of games old and new. By old I mean stuff for the original Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Gameboy, PS1, PS2, Sega Genesis, Game Cube, etc. *Every old school game costs only a few bucks. There’s stuff selling for $ 2, so if you have the console, go crazy! *They also have old school pre-owned game consoles on sale. The original NES is being sold for $ 50. *Even if you don’t plan on buying anything, I think it’s super cool to browse through the games to reminisce which ones you used to play back in the days. Just holding/touching them felt like I was touching a piece of ancient history from my childhood.

I wish there was no stars as an option because the service from this store was horrible based upon the store clerk. He was so rude and arrogant cause i was just trying to return a game, he tries and force me to buy another after I told him I don’t want another. I swear I’ve never been treated like such trash probably cause I’m a person of color but, this is where I go to shop for my childhood. This will be the last time I come here.

Jay street in Plymouth meeting has a decent selection of old games and memorabilia! As far as retro stores go I’ve seen worse. I went up to the counter to ask the sales associate if he had Castlevania 3 in stock for the NES and he said«I have no idea, I transferred from another store so I have no idea what we have». I was shocked, he ended the conversation there and didn’t even bother looking it up in the computer system. As far as price goes they are all over the place. Some stuff you get at a real bargain and others are really expensive. One thing that really bothered me was when I went there they had a boxed copy of Earthbound and they put their barcode sticker on it. ON A RETROBOXEDGAMETHEYPUT A STICKERONIT… ya know… not that it’s gonna rip the cardboard off or anything when a collector goes to remove it. One cool thing is all the manuals are a dollar each! What a bargain: D They had Star Fox for SNES set up to play on a little dinky LCDTV running through a crappy third party system. The lag was ridiculous lol The one in King of Prussia was somewhat better but still… the selection for anything older then PS2 was sad. All in all they do some good things at this store and i’m not saying to avoid them. But there is better places you can go for your retro gaming goodies

I’ve gotta give it to this place. Its hard to find a decent, honest, legitimate store that carries classic/retro video games that are not jacked up in price. The selection is good, some days are better than others pending what trade-ins are like. But my review comes from the grand customer service I’ve received today. I bought a Retron5 gaming system brand new back in October. Today it stopped working, wouldn’t turn on. I call the store and spoke to Matt who im sure I’ve been helped by many times. Despite the fact that the system has a manufactures warranty of 1 year they(the store) would honor a return/exchange for a new working system once they got it in stock. Because he could not tell me when a new shipment from the manufacturer would arrive they arranged to have another store transfer a unit and ship it to their store for me and that I would have a replacement(god willing) in a week. Fantastic. Retro Gaming today is an investment, and this place invests in its customers with great service. Upon delivery they will have received a customer for life!

Jay’s street video games is a pretty cool place. When you are in the King of Prussia Mall, Plaza side near sears, check out this retro gaming store. Prices are moderate, however they have a pretty awesome selection. They had almost every video game system immaginable, and have quite a nice display of rare accesories such as the nintendo power glove. Customer service represetitives are snarky… but in a good way. Its nice to visit a store where employees are knowledgable and seem to have great care in video games. This is a must checkout for old school gamers, and children alike.

Reading the reviews for this store on Unilocal is very misleading as one of them seems to be written by someone who has never gone into the store with the intent to buy anything, while another hardly seems plausible based on my experiences. I visited two Jay Street Video Games locations and both were phenomenal. The Jay Street Video Games located in the King of Prussia mall had a wide variety of games, and the person working the counter was incredibly knowledgeable. I jokingly asked if they had Battletoads and, in fact, they did have Battletoads for both the Nintendo Entertainment System and Gameboy. I asked for the Gameboy version of the game, and this is where I was floored by their organization. The Gameboy version of the game was not at the King of Prussia location, but was, in fact, at the Jay Street located in the Plymouth Meeting Mall(this location does not have its own Unilocal page). They allowed me to pay for the game at their King of Prussia location and held the game for me until I could pick it up later that evening. While there I also purchased Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards; the price was a bit high, but the game works perfectly. Later that evening at the Plymouth Meeting Mall location, my girlfriend and I were greeted by a younger guy who handed me the game I’d reserved after taking a look at the receipt that had been printed at the other location. Not in any rush to leave we lingered over the games, thumbing through the vast array of handheld games on the racks and perusing the more expensive games inside the glass cases. That was when we noticed the demo Retron machines(a game console that plays NES, Super NES, and SEGA Genesis games) hooked up to televisions inside the store. After playing with them for a while, I asked the person at the counter if I could try out some other games in the machines– he happily agreed(as it was just the three of us in the store) and we had quite a good time testing out different games, discussing the retro gaming scene(JonTron, AVGN, and the like), and just hanging out. It was easily the best experience I’ve had video game shopping in a long while, and while they’re definitely not the place to look for modern games, fans of retro games are advised to check it out.
