Because the New Balance stores are independently-owned franchises, they don’t necessarily carry the full collection. I came in looking for one of the newest shoes, assuming they’d carry it but didn’t find it — their women’s non-running shoe selection was somewhat limited. That being said, after trying on a few, I found something suitable for my immediate needs. I didn’t find staff particularly helpful or knowledgeable but I extracted enough information to make a good enough choice. I’d prefer to do business with local businesses but Zappos does carry a much broader selection. I do like the brand so I’ll do some research and make some calls when it’s time to come for a replacement.

The New Balance store in King of Prussia has a rude sales staff! They will say they will help you then go off and help someone else leaving you standing there like an idiot! I would never recommend them to anyone. It is not the kind of service anyone deserves. I am so angry about how I was treated that I will NEVER wear New Balance sneakers again!

If you like New Balance, and there’s plenty of reasons to, then buying them in a New Balance store such as this location in the King of Prussia mall makes sense. New Balance are highly technical shoes and I think to chose a pair you should work with a knowledgeable salesperson and try on several styles. Once you’ve found the perfect shoe, you can probably save money by buying your next pair online. One advantage of a dedicated NB store is that they are well stocked in all of the styles, widths and sizes. On the other hand, you lose the opportunity to compare the shoes side-by-side with shoes from other makers. In my three buying experiences at this location, I’ve found the staff usually knows their stuff, but sometimes have to be prodded more than you’d expect to come over and help you.
