I’m sorry but every single time my wife and I go here we receive nothing but excellent service. Even calling the store for help has been great.
Maybe other reviewers just need some patience.

Store is so sterile. Sales clerks never around to help, always busy shuffling through the store. I don’t know what they are always scrambling to do but always walking rushingly and never looking at customers. When I finally give up and walk to the cash register to get help, they make you feel like an idiot that you don’t know the details of all their inventory.

Short version: They will take way longer than they say to deliver anything, you’ll have to hound them repeatedly, and they will be extremely unhelpful and dismissive.
Long version: I can’t really afford the insanely overpriced furniture they sell, but I had my eye on this sweet leather armchair and saw that the floor model was available for a steep discount. The lady who helped me explained that they would have to order a replacement chair and this would take about 3 weeks. I guess they can’t just move a few pieces around as the store has a «curator», and this would upset her perfect little feng shui… whatever. It’s a furniture store, you’re not selling Brancusi here.
Anyway, she says it will take about 3 weeks and then they’ll send the chair to a warehouse and they’ll contact me about a delivery time. I expressed concern that I was leaving the country in about 7 weeks for a while, but she insisted it wouldn’t be a problem.
Three weeks go by and I happen to be in the neighborhood so I stop in and ask about it. They tell me not yet, not to worry and that they’ll call me and I don’t need to check back. Very dismissive.
Another week or so goes by and I call and complain that they said 3 weeks and it’s now been 4 going on 5 and I’m concerned because of my trip and they aren’t really sure what’s happening but they’ll call me and that I don’t need to check in again. Again, very dismissive.
Six weeks have gone by and I’m leaving in a week so I call them up and they tell me that it’s already been transferred to the warehouse. W. T. F.
I wonder how long it would have sat there if I hadn’t called, which they repeatedly told me to stop doing, that they would contact me?
Fortunately I called the warehouse and was able to schedule the delivery just a few days before I leave, but I will never buy anything from them again, and I suggest you don’t either.

I thought they were closing up most of these locations, but it seems like they have somewhat refocused and are moving away from smaller items and are more focused on big things like furniture, etc. Prices were pretty big, seems more like a Pottery Barn store now?

Very cool items… if you can afford them.
Some items are very unique… I much rather stroll around the store and get ideas rather than break my bank account.

I love Restoration Hardware the way I love looking through spreads in Better Homes and Gardens: it is lovely to daydream about living in the lap of luxury with my meticulously manicured lawn.
I had been eyeing a particular fan from the company because my hunk of junk plastic one from Bed Bath and Beyond was beginning to make a disturbing rattling noise. And, let’s be honest, it clashes terribly with anything that can be described as «décor» in my bedroom. RH’s Allaire 12″ fan has a sleek retro style and creates just enough white noise to soothe me to sleep. It has multiple settings and should prove its worth come the dog days of summer when I kick it into high gear.
The KOP store is impeccably laid out with several enticing bedroom displays that dare you to jump in and take a nap. I found the sales staff to be friendly and helpful. I had originally requested the fan in silver but the store was out of stock and the sales associate immediately informed me that the product could be ordered and shipped to me at no extra cost. I opted for the black model instead and was happy when it was brought promptly to me, rung up, and packaged all within 10 minutes. At $ 150, though, a fan is probably all I will be buying from here.
