Fyi, this the PG rated version: Today’s lunch, was the absolutely worst plate of pork bbq & vinegar slaw I’ve ever had. Just a sopping wet mess of meat. I felt sorry for all the locals in the restaurant who seemed to think this shit was edible much less tasty. Only positive was the onion flavored o-ring cornbread. If you find yourself in King, NC just roll right past this place. You can think me later…

this is a KIng icon for breakfast and lunch. Tenderloin is some of the best around.

My family and I have been coming here for years. we usually go for the breakfast, I always get the tenderloin plate, it is delicious! My kids usually get the eggs and smoked sausage with toast, or a gravy biscuit and egg. recently we went for dinner, my husband got the hamburger steak plate he said it was pretty good but the gravy was wonderful. His pinto beans were canned, that he loved the macaroni and cheese. I got a burger and it was huge. We will be going back.

Local place in a small town. Offers BBQ, veggies, and normal fast food items. Food comes out quickly. It’s good. Bathrooms small and dirty. Parking is ok.

It’s good. Nothing spectacular I would say. I only have been there once and I got the burger which was actually pretty good for a burger so that was awesome! My husband has been there a few times and gets the chopped barbecue which is just a bunch of chopped pork. Nothing special. I do have to say they don’t serve burgers before 11AM which is kind of crappy. Sometimes you just want a good hangover burger.

Stopped in today for a dog and fries. Ended up ordering the special — double cheeseburger, fries, and drink for 5.59. Our order took about fifteen minutes but wow. I almost couldnt finish the burger. I could be wrong but the patties didnt appear to be frozen ones. Could they actually hand pat them? Chili, slaw, and texas pete. Good meal, didnt like seeing four or five groups that ordered after us eating before us.

I am originally from King and travel there frequently. I ALWAYS stop here for several meals while I am in town. It is just downright good. I never get to stay long enough to eat everything I want so usually on my way out of town I load up on the barbecue and the hot dogs. The staff is friendly and helpful but then everyone in King is compared to DC where I now reside. I wish they offered the barbecue in five gallon buckets! My friends at home are always begging me to bring more! Keep up the good work!

Pretty much ordinary, middle of the road, Lexington style barbecue served here. The first time I had a chopped sandwich here, the pork was a little dry and stringy, but the second time it was fairly moist and tender, but still a little bland. There is some smokiness to the meat since this place does cook their pig over hardwood coals. The dog here, regular and footlong, are not favorites of mine because the chili is tomatoey and on the sweet side, with little spice. The hamburger is ok, fries are passable. They also serve breakfast here, and that is quite nice. Love the biscuit and gravy, and they scramble the eggs as you ordered them.

If I was rating their BBQ, I would give it 3.5 stars. My wife will bring a family pack(BBQ, slaw and hushpuppies) home for dinner on occasion, and it is pretty good. But for breakfast, you must try a tenderloin biscuit. It is «dynamite!» Try a tenderloin breakfast plate. Two pieces of tenderlion, 2 eggs, 2 biscuits and gravy.(I just started slobbering on my keyboard!)
