Have to admit we were a little unsure about this place at first. But the food was very good and the staff were very nice!

This is the kind of place that you would drive by and hope your car doesn’t break down in front of the place. If I hadn’t seen this place on Unilocal,I wouldn’t have stopped. If you are ever in Kingman, you must go to Grandpa’s Kitchen. This is where the locals go. The coffee cups are set on all the tables and are each unique. It looks like they went to a Salvation Army and just bought up all the random single mugs. LOVEIT. The staff is super friendly and the food is amazing. You can not go wrong with anything on the menu.

One of the best cheeseburgers I have ever had and that’s saying a lot for myself. The union rings were also great along with what seemed to be everything else here.

Service is poor, half hour and no food… Bring a dose of patience… It’s a local crowd, so they get the attention. Thank goodness I can let off steam on Unilocal. Don’t sit in the corner, you’ll be ignored!!! After all, it’s only breakfast!!!

The food tastes like you cooked it yourself at home, the portions are huge, and the family staff is very friendly. The building/décor/chairs/tables are pretty old and beat up which caused me to take off a star. The parking is a nightmare with only a few parking spots in a difficult to reach situation, I took off another star for that.

If your looking for good home cooked food and the best chicken fried steak in the state of Arizona you will find it at Grandpa’s Kitchen. This is my must stop on Phoenix to Laughlin or Las Vegas… love this small ma and pa restaurant!

On a road trip with some friends we decided to have breakfast at Grandpa’s Kitchen in Kingman, AZ, and what a great meal we had. Grandpa’s Kitchen is a little Mom and Pop restaurant that is open from 7−2pm. When you step inside it feels like you are in Mayberry RFD. There is a very large parking lot suitable for large RV’s/Motorhomes. The décor is old Americana. The service was very friendly, helpful, and fast. The breakfast tasted great, quality was excellent, and the portion size was gigantic!!! The prices were unbelievably reasonable considering the large portions of very good food. Next time I’m traveling through Kingman, I will definitely stop by Grandpa’s Kitchen for a meal.

This is the diner that was an original diner and never changed. The tables are old. The chairs are folding. There is a counter to eat at. They have daily specials during the week. I was here on Sunday. I also arrived about 1pm, they close at 2. That meant no roast beef, meatloaf and other things. However, they have these things called plates. Someone carefully beats the hell out of a cube steak, breads it, and covers the plate with it. The breeding it heavy, probably panko mixed in. Great seasoning, seems like worchester sauce is added in here. They drench it in country gravy, and add semi lumpy mashed taters. It’s a hopping place. The parking is tight between street and sidewalk. The directions on Unilocal through Google are horrible! I got the tour of the city going in, and was five minutes going back to I40!

Delicious food. Huge portions! Friendly service with a homey vibe. I will return here. I gave a 4 instead of a 5 only because my over easy eggs were over medium and because I have had better gravy(their’s was good though!) Pancakes were delicious, biscuits moist and fluffy, chicken fried steak tender and well seasoned.

A fellow Unilocaler set this place had a terrible parking hard plastic chairs and it was dingy and not in the best neighborhood and the parking is terrible and all those words are true, yes grandpa is not a four Diamond restaurant it is not a PF Chang or Denny’s or Chili’s it’s Grandpa’s where they put all the effort in good food good prices great service and for those of us who live here in Kingman snowbirds and people there just passing through this is a fun place to have a meal you feel like you’re with all your friends and if you’ve eaten there is many times as my wife and I have they start to know you so so those of you who are looking for a 5 star or 4 diamond this may not be your place but it’s ours and if you don’t want to eat here that’s okay that’ll be just that much more room for the rest of us because we love our grandpas.

This place no way deserves four and a half Stars it’s dirty uncomfortable hard plastic chairs that you should see at a state fair set up not in a restaurant it’s old looking dingy needs to be updated the parking out front is ridiculous and is it one of the worst neighborhoods in town nothing like having panhandlers come up to you if you’re leaving your car but in their defense the food was decent not as great as my friend was telling me people beware it’s dirty dingy and needs to be updated oh I forgot to mention the plastic chairs really uncomfortable and they look even worse

I have eaten in many restaurants, for breakfast and first look for quality. I break down restaurants to good and greasy spoon quality. This was greasy spoon quality so my rating will reflect that. First the greasy smell hits you. I ordered pancakes and eggs scrambled. Pancakes were mediocre. Eggs ok. The coffee was mediocre also. Few greasy spoons have outstanding eateries. I don’t count leaving stuffed as a criteria for good eating. We went out of our way here. Don’t bother.

My girlfriend and I stopped in Kingman for a night, and the next morning tried this place. Let me tell you, it was everything I wanted and more. The setting is very casual(plastic chairs and tables) with a slew of different painting and wall décor straight from your grandfather’s latest yard sale. Service is very friendly, and there’s even a cute little local newsletter of sorts on the table to peruse before your meal. Breakfast was great. Tons of food, and all of it prepared just how I asked and delicious. The whipped butter was a huge plus. So tasty. Do yourself a favor and fuel for your road trip here instead of some corporate chain.

You would never guess from the curb side, you would never guess as you walk in. But this place has the best hash I have had in years. I have looked high and low and east to west. For just plain down home good corn beef hash. One would not think the sh*t on a shingle would be hard to find well it is not hard to find, just hard to find done right not spruced up with a bunch of stuff that’s not suppose to be in there. Classic yummy grub at grandpas. Friendly staff that’s never lets the coffee cup run dry. For surely a good joint to stop at.

I travel frequently for my job and every time I pass by Kingman, AZ, I always make it a point to stop by Grandpa’s Kitchen for some of their yummy food. I always get their breakfast whatever time I get there. You can never go wrong with hash with gravy and chicken fried steak! The portions are HUGE! Tip: They only take cash.
