Rolling down the I-40…with the thought of stopping in Kingman for a quick break… we would exit and find ourselves her at this Chevron. I don’t know why we stopped at this location when there where so many other filler-ups to chose from. Perhaps. I have been brainwashed over the years to naturally drift towards the familiar emblem that is Chevron. The gas was cheap enough. I enjoyed watching some of the locals play Frogger with traffic while I filled up. The bathroom was clean enough. I purchased most of the sundries I was looking for. The clerk behind the counter was friendly enough. All in all… an A-OK experience.

Clean and not too crowded when making a stop on the way to Vegas. Good customer service.

Clean and everything works. Woody was there when we needed him, and our huge rental car was very, very thirsty.

I stop here often while driving between Phoenix and Las Vegas. It is well lit, the fuel prices are reasonable and the store has plenty of selection and great coffee. There may be better roadside travel stops, but there certainly are many more that are not as nice as Woody’s!

You go through St Louie, Joplin, Missouri, Oklahoma City is mighty pretty You’ll see Amarillo; Gallup, New Mexico Flagstaff Arizona, don’t forget Wanona, Kingman, Barstow, San Bernadino If you took that lazy trip back on Route 66, you would have come through here. But I-40 replaced US66 a long time ago and I don’t think 90% of the business here in Kingman, on the edge of the Tri-State area of Lake Havasu, Laughlin, and Bullhead City, were here back then. Woody’s Chevron is on what is now the main drag of KIngman, AZ. It is a good pit stop, with reasonable gas and a convenience store. The great thing about this place is, any soda of any size from the fountain is only 99 cents. That will come in handy when you start off again on one of those highways that’s the biway that’s the best. Whether you get your kicks on Route 66, or 95, or 93, or some dusty, hot side road.
