Super 8 Kings Mountain

This is a great and clean place to stay. Staff is very nice and very helpful, I believe this place is under new management because they are doing a lot of things to improve the establishment!

I stayed at this Super 8 last November while visiting friends in the area and would recommend it to anyone.
The motel is clean and affordable at under $ 50 a night, very safe as well. My room was spotless, had a mini fridge and microwave, coffee maker which was the only one of the 3 that I used! Free continental breakfast as well, which I did go to one morning and there was a nice variety of food as well as a waffle maker so you could make your own.
I only dealt with the front desk staff at check in and a very brief checkout at 3am. Both times the person working was friendly and helpful. Housekeeping came when I’d stopped back at the motel to drop off some shopping and grab a sweater, she was very friendly and offered to come back, but I was headed back out again anyway. I came back to a very clean and well stocked room.
There is free wifi as well, I barely spent enough time in the room to use it. but it was great knowing it was available! Would stay there again if needed!

After driving 10 hours I pulled off the road to find an inexpensive place to sleep for the night and pulled into this Super 8. It was about 1am and the lobby was closed but looked nicely decorated and clean. There was a welcome sign that claimed this was a new hotel so I decided to stay and went to the night window where a nice woman checked me into an non-​smoking room at a $ 52 rate. Again I was only looking for a place to sleep the next 6 — 8 hrs before getting back on the road. After parking the car I went into the next building where the rooms were located and upon opening the door I was hit with the acrid smell for smoke in the hall way, found the room and quickly went inside. Once inside I felt like I entered a dark and dreary crypt. The room was dirty, stains all over the bedding, furniture all askew, nothing was plugged in including the phone. The bed was king size so I could not move it to find and outlets for plugin devices. The bathroom walls and ceiling were moldy and the door did not close as the latch was broken. If I had not been so tired I would have left and probably should have as there was a Hampton Inn right up the road. But I stayed and told the manager in the morning that I would never stay there again nor recommend it to others. For an additional $ 10 or $ 15 dollars go stay at the Hampton. You will be glad you did.
