I went there and got tuna on a roll with lettuce. The tuna was weighed and the guy kept taking little pinches of tuna off. REALLY!?! I should have left at that point but was curious to see how this would turn out. While paying for the sandwich, the owner/manager(?) came out and asked the guy if he weighed it. I got back to work, unwrapped my sandwich. Honestly, the first bite was nothing but roll and lettuce. Didn’t bother to spread the tuna over the roll. The rest of the sandwich was just as bad. Worst sandwich I have ever had. Bye bye Edelweiss, hello Anderson’s. I’ll even go to Subway before going back there.

Great German deli in Kings Park. They have great cold cuts and salads, and great selection of German groceries. Good breakfast sandwiches too.

I was out in LI for a meeting recently and had the opportunity to stop at Edelweiss. I was going to be on the road for the next seven hours so I needed something delicious. I left sated. I got a(very fresh) egg salad sandwich, a delicious, enormous corn muffin, and a garlic pickle roughly the size of a children’s tricycle. When I visited, there were only three other customers, but even so, I could see that some of the minor complaints about slow speeds had some validity. But who cares? Both the older proprietor and younger person who helped me were over-the-top nice, and I would much rather visit a deli with real personality than be able to get a ham & cheese sandwich in 15 seconds flat. I really liked that they had a wide variety of German food, interesting sides, and huge pastries. I was very happy I visited.

Awesome and delicious egg sandwiches. Probably one of the best delis I’ve been too on Long Island. Staff is always friendly and they are pretty quick too in my experience.

This place has gone completely downhill. The staff is nice, but they are stingy on sandwiches and they really should work on their speed. They are the slowest deli around. I’m not an andersons fan but at least your not waiting 20 minutes. Can’t wait for The other deli to open again!!!

This deli is terrible. They are so cheap it’s unbelievable. They weigh everything! I’ve been there a few times each time I ordered a sandwhich there was more bread than meat. They also make the biggest deal about using a debit card… It’s 2015, get over it. My last time there the lady with blonde hair embarrased me for using a debit card… Last time I ever go there… Oh I almost forgot, you have to expect at least a 20 min wait for a mastic sandwhich or eggs, because they are so rediculously slow

BESTALLAROUNDDELIONTHEISLAND. Great Eggs Sandwiches, Great Pea Soup, best LI Deli Iced Tea around and Great Tuna and Chicken salad sandwiches. Freshest Rye and Pump Bread anywhere. High Dollar but worth it. They where gloves when I am there…

Not sure what the negative reviews are about, this is a really fantastic deli. The staff are always super friendly even though the place is usually PACKED. I’ve never been to Edelweis when there hasn’t been a line so that should speak volumes. The food quality is great and I always come here over Anderson’s because I feel Anderson’s is far too generic. The prices here are on par with any other deli around.

Go here if you don’t mind your sandwich being made by someone with no gloves on. Maybe the health dept. will pick up on that one at some point.

The food is ok, the attitude of the staff behind the counter is poor, and the food is just extremely overpriced.

The best and slowest made egg sandwich on the island. Great beer selection. I can’t afford to buy lunch here.

We have been going to Edelweiss for years. The food is good and you usually wait a little longer for it and pay a little more but I was willing to wait and pay the price… BUT a big problem with this deli is they get the order wrong a lot. Many times we would check it before we left and they would fix it. Today I ordered a mushroom omelette on a wrap with ketchup and pepper. I told the clerk no cheese. When they gave me the wrap I thought it was a little expensive and mentioned to the clerk I didn’t order cheese. But he said they put a lot of food into a wrap which is why is was more than the sandwich would be. When I got home and opened it up it was loaded with cheese. I bought it back and told the owner and he said most people get cheese when they order mushrooms. I told them twice I didn’t want cheese. Got my money back and won’t go there again !

I won’t deny that the food is good, but it’s outrageously overpriced. And the service is so slow they are practically moving backwards. If there is no one else there why am I still waiting 15 minutes for a sandwich? Not even an egg sandwich, I’m talking about cold cuts! And the last time I was there the girl helping me didn’t wear gloves. Gross.

Mmm… egg sandwiches. Kevin got me hooked on BECSPKs(bacon-egg-cheese-salt-pepper-ketchup) years ago, and they’re a must every time we come to Long Island. We usually go to the deli by the gas station for convenience, but this trip we’ve been going to Edelweiss for our morning crack fix. They’re nicer at Edelweiss anyway. The rolls are fresh and soft and they load it up with just the right amount of ketchup. They aren’t sloppy or messy, and the counter staff wraps them up nice and tight for the car ride so they are still steaming hot when we unwrap them 10 minutes later. Pair it with an OJ or coffee, and your morning will be off on the right foot! Four dollars may be expensive to the locals that can get these babies every day of the week, but when I’m visiting I’ll happily shell out whatever it takes for a breakfast that tastes this delicious.

Har-umph. The extremely puny sizes of the sandwiches at Edelweiss is really starting to bug me. Especially after I went to Se-Port and had a Gasm and realized that you are really getting your money’s worth there. I need to have a chat with Sam, owner and proprietor at Se-Port, see if he’ll open up a branch in Western Suffolk County to embarrass these crap-ass delis and make a million bucks. Also, even the egg sandwich prices at Edelweiss are staring to frustrate me. It’s $ 4.20 after tax for a sausage, egg and cheese, because they charge like $ 0.70 for the cheese. C’mon. I’m gonna make them at home from now on.
