Well, if you haven’t eaten Phill’s Pig Wings you ain’t lived! We loved them with the BBQ Beans and Potato Casserole. Washed ‘er down with sweet tea and kicked back and smiled. Mighty good eating.

Phil’s Dream Pit is our go-to BBQ place. It’s one exit north from us and we’ve never been disappointed.

Amazing BBQ and great sauce selections! The owners/staff make you feel like you’re family and always so welcoming. It’s also very conveniently located right off of 26 at exit 10. Their macaroni salad and bbq baked beans are also phenomenal! They put pulled pork in the beans. Also, if you’re in the mood for a good hot dog, but still want the bbq experience, then try the dream dog. If you’re looking for a tasty meal with friendly staff then this is your place!

This is a tough one. Some great and some so-so. Great: Over-stuffed, yummy pork barbecue sandwiches. Baked beans were wonderful. Speedy and very friendly service. So-so: Brisket chili, Mexican Cornbread(this might not really be fair as I like my cornbread on the moist side), potato salad. The restaurant had great reviews so we gave it a try in our travels across the state. Based on the reviews I was a little disappointed. If we traveled through again and were looking for lunch, I would probably try somewhere else . A word of warning. It’s very small, with a small parking lot, and you stand in a line to order at the counter.

Best barbecue place in Kingsport! Great place for lunch! Pulled pork sandwiches are the best. Lots of sides to choose from. Love this place!

Snuck into here right before the lunch rush while driving across country. Five minutes from the highway. What a gem, what a gem! Had«pork wings», I’d say one of the best pork dishes of my life. Smoky, couldn’t possibly be more tender, excellent texture and flavor. My boyfriend had the beef brisket just absolutely delicious. Vinegar sauce was his favorite and blackberry sauce for myself. To top it off the people working there were impossibly nice. Thanks for such an incredible meal, will stop by if I ever find myself in this neck of the woods.

Phil’s Dream Pit is my favorite BBQ in the Tri-Cities region, hands down. The blackberry sauce is tasty, tangy and a little bit spicy. The toast is a guilty pleasure — so chewy and buttery. Just wish this place was open on Mondays!

I’ve been traveling to the area for several years and never stopped in– mistake. The food was good and the service great. Definitely worth the rating it has. A place I’ll go back to again and again.

Definitely worth it. 3 minutes from I 40, clean, family friendly. Served within 1 minute. The owner was helpful and gracious, so so good Five kinds of homemade BBQ sauce, each delicious. Our favorite? Hands down the dry rub ribs with blackberry sauce with a dab of the vinegar base. Pulled pork was tender and cooked to perfection without a hint of stringiness

Great small atmosphere. Friendly, and welcoming. Tasty smoke on the brisket, vinegar sauce available at table side is grade A! The potato salad is homemade and made with love! The beans are beautiful. Highly satisfied and recommended!

In all fairness, I’m not huge BBQ fan in general. But for some reason I was craving it today, so my coworker and I checked it out. I ordered the 2 meat plate with turkey and beef brisket. I wanted chicken but apparently that doesn’t count for the 2 meat plate. I ordered the hash brown casserole as a side and told them to «surprise me» with my second side since I didn’t want beans and everything else is mayo based. The girls picked macaroni salad for my second side. You get a generous portion of meat(4oz of each), but I was disappointed because it was cold. The sides were good, nothing spectacular but not flavorless. I did like the fact that they had 5 sauces to choose from. My favorite was the«sweet fire» as it was sweet with a little bit of smokey flavor as well as spice. My coworker got the pulled pork dinner, which was also a large serving of meat. He liked both the beans and the hash brown casserole too. We also each had a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie, which were only $.50! Atmosphere is pretty much what you would expect a hole-in-the-wall Tennessee BBQ joint to be. Cute, mismatched, not fancy. Service was super friendly and helpful!

Honey, stop the car! You need to try this place and the pig wings. They are Tender, moist and smoky. As a mini pig owner I felt guilty eating it so I only had 2… Good variety of sauces, flavorful baked beans. Very friendly staff, eat outside on picnic tables or inside. Good parking.

In town on business and locals recommended this place. Just a really nice friendly, family-run joint with great food at great prices. Had the brisket plate and finished it off with banana pudding. If I am ever in the Kingsport, TN area again I will be back.

Be sure to get sauce! Great bbq, but I will likely try another joint when I am in the area again. I am not leaving hungry, but it needed a crutch. I had the ribs and the pork, beans and chips. Ribs I got dry(wet was an option), pork was just pulled. I could see a great smoke ring in the ribs, and a different rub than I am used to. Pork had a nice color, with definite evidence of a good helping of smoke. I was hoping for a more aggressive taste in the meat, but it was just«eh». The sauce made it much better, but I had wanted dry ribs that didn’t NEED sauce. Great ambiance, line out the door too. I will probably try something else in the area next time. This was supposed to be «best in Kingsport», but I hope that isn’t the case.

Pork ribs were ok for small town BBQ. Brisket, not so much. I guess I am just spoiled by Texas BBQ. I’ll give it to them though, the beans are pretty amazing.

Nestled in a warehouse area, I had to call them to get directions. Once I found it, I stumbled inside to a musical and friendly energy. I hadn’t made up my mind yet but was standing at the counter for a minute– and they thought they had kept me waiting. Ran out so friendly, apologizing– but I was eons away from deciding. I’m a barbeque maniac. I ordered their ribs and the pulled pork, with a side of beans and greens. I am a hater. I immediately judge. I sit there and pull stuff apart. From the quality of the cuts of meat, to the rubs, to the sauces– This is in my top three favorite barbeque spots in the COUNTRY. The flavor was absolutely unbelievable– every single sauce was quintessential. THE sweet bbq, THE vinegar bbq– all so authentic and true to region/origin. Their blackberry bbq sauce was a shift from my usual, and I ended up putting it on everything. Note to vegetarians: 1. Why are you eating here? 2. There is meat in EVERYTHING. The beans are full of pulled meats and they are mind blowing. Still– be conscious of that if need be. On top of having the best bbq, with the best cuts of quality meat and the best sauces– The owners are hilarious. All friends/family– I watched as they laughed it up with locals and their friends– There’s a huge photo of them on the wall all dressed in Tye-dye being silly. I immediately loved them. Wonderful, wonderful people. Worth supporting even if their barbeque wasn’t some of the best on the planet– but thank goodness it is.

This was recommended to me by business colleagues in the area as the best barbecue place to go to. They were spot on. Plenty generous servings for lunch as I had the pulled pork, baked beans and potato salad. I will start my diet tomorrow! 1-22-2015 update: We went back for lunch and they did not disappoint! I had the three rib special with baked beans(favorite side thus far) and cole slaw. Just enough for lunch. Fantastic. They had tarp around the front porch and radiant heaters do the picnic tables were great.
