BEST WESTERN Harpeth Inn

Probably one of the nicest Best Westerns I have been in. The young lady staffing the front desk was very cheerful and helpful. I am traveling by myself so I got a single Bed looked to be king sized. Big room with a sitting area with a small couch and coffee table. Nice touch for a single room. Also microwave, small fridge in the room as well. The room smelled clean and by all appearances looked to be well up kept as did the rest of the hotel. The complimentary breakfast had a full spread it is one of the largest I have seen in a while and everything was fresh and tasted good. 5 stars for effort I wished more owner /​operators tried this hard.

Absolutely terrible. Only stopped because it was sleeting and snowing so we had to get off the highway for the night.
1) the room was not bad. At first glance I was sure it wouldn’t be to terrible. WRONG
2) The sheets left on the bed were stained and burned (like cigarette burns) I called up front to get a new set and she was very apologetic and sent a new set right away… This set still had burns and stains. I ended up calling 2 more times for sheets and finally gave up the last time (still had some minor stains but at least no burns). At this point the front office was stating that they would not charge us for the room. (This was a non-​smoking room)
3) Beds slept ok, the TV was nice and big. And the little Mexican joint across the street had pretty decent food (but skip the Rita’s)
4) My boyfriend went to grab our «breakfast» and I bit into my sandwich and there was a hair… Talk about tasty.
5) we go to check out and the front office decided to argue with us, and proceeded to charge us anyway.
We have spoken with the corporate office and this place is now under an investigation. Truly the WORST experience ever and I will NEVER go back and I advise that you don’t stop here either.

We were very impressed! Large spotlessly clean room with disinfected remote control and double sheets covering the blanket. The room was so fresh smelling. Large flat screen TV, fridge and microwave. Staff were friendly when checking in and out! Good continental breakfast with egg/​sausage biscuits, yogurt and pastries. Great price too! I highly recommend this motel. Only cons: no elevator, AC is loud under window unit and the orange juice was Tang.

Pretty awful. Unfriendly, room smelled moldy, sheets were damp. Carpet was badly stained and squishy. A/​C unit was very loud. The only two things I can compliment were the nice hot water with good pressure in the shower and the fact that we could park right outside the door.

The remodel was done over a year and a half ago and the rooms are showing a little wear. Although, they are still okay — the carpet in the rooms needs to be cleaned and the cleaning ladies need to be told to wipe the inside of the room’s main door down — ours was very dirty. The room itself was «okay clean» — but a room key case was still on the nightstand from the previous guest — so I assume they nightstands weren’t wiped down, otherwise the cleaning lady would have noticed. All the top surfaces of the furniture are granite — so they should be easy to clean.
On the good side, the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was okay — pretty average for motels of this caliber. Safe — nice location just outside of Nashville — close enough without being too far.
They allow animals — which I am sure lots of folks see as a plus — still, I suspect that might be why the carpets need a cleaning (don’t throw rocks animal loves! I have a pet myself, but pets do cause wear and tear, especially when out of their own element).
Would I stay here again — yes, the coupon rate was pretty good and the beds were comfy. But overall I’d rate this hotel as a ho-​hum hotel.

I am giving it five stars because… it was clean, the bed was comfy, the pillows were great, good choices available for the free breakfast, and most importantly, everyone was really pleasant!
