Buddy’s Bar B Q

Good alternative to other options (mostly fast good) off this exit. Pulled pork sandwiches were tasty. Plain hamburger buns were a bit dry. options for sauce were mild and hot BBQ. Hubby liked the BBQ beans. Potato salad was tasty. Friendly service as well.

Clean! The half chicken was excellent. Green beans threw me off. Wasn’t expecting flat beans. They had great flavor. Fast service.

We stopped by chance on a road trip to Nashville. We each ordered the ½ chicken dinner. The service was great, food came quickly. I have had better barbecue, but it was delicious and hot. The corn on the cob was a little soggier than I like, but the beans and coleslaw were very good. Loved the hush puppies, but being from the North, I don’t have much to compare them to. I would definitely stop again.

Shit this place is the best!

I stopped by to grab some food on my roadtrip from DC to Texas. Food was good, but the service was great. Alexandra was friendly and helpful. Only thing disappointing about the experience was that I forgot to give her my number.

Good thing I didn’t read some of the reviews first… Bldg looked in testing & clean so I stopped. Everything was really good. Had ½ chicken dinner & a ½lb of ribs (by the lb). Really liked the hush puppies too (crunchy :-) Definitely will be back.

One of the sorriest meals I’ve ever had. The same was said by my guest. Either they were having their worst night ever, or the folks who gave it good reviews have never had good barbecue.
First of all, the girl that took our order (and as someone else said, this is a «fast food» type BBQ joint; you give your order at the counter), acted as if she was miserable. Then the food, oh my… If the Pulled Pork is «pulled», then they must use tweezers to pull it. It was minced, and it looked and tasted like something that came from the local grocers freezer. The beef brisket… to say it looked and tasted like cheap, thin sliced deli meat, cut into strips, with barbecue sauce dumped on it, would be kind. The barbecue beans tasted like they came out of a can with more of the nasty barbecue sauce dumped on it. Even the coleslaw was bad. How do you mess up coleslaw??? To be fair, the one good thing was the potato salad. And the hush puppies were edible. But nothing else was. We literally went to Hardee’s after leaving there to get something to eat. And for a place to be worse than Hardee’s is saying a lot!

Great pork. Great sauce. Add hush puppies and pickles to make an excellent combination.

Easily one of the worst places I have ever eaten. The food is completely tasteless, covered in grease… I would rather eat cardboard.

I was really surprised. We got the ribs and they actually tasted smoked. It was my first rangle with a hushpuppie and needless to say they were good… the ribs were better.

Great barbecue alternative to fast food. Very good food and quick when you are on the road.

Like a wendy’s but BBQ. Serves pork chick and beef sandwiches, meat by the pound, whole or half chickens. No table service. Adequate fast food road stop. Clean.

Extremely friendly service from a lovely young waitress (who’s name I really wish I could recall just now).
The barbeque was very generous and serviceably tasty, though not phenomenal.

Buddy’s is by no means the best BBQ I’ve ever had, but it is a delicious alternative to mcdonalds or hardees if you are staying in the area.
They have really good pulled pork and chicken. The ribs were cooked fresh but I’ve never been a fan of pork ribs so they left a little for me to be desired. The hushpuppies were a little drier than I prefer but I still ate them all so what does that say. I don’t think they had a bad side dish from what we tasted and the food came out hot and quick.
The girl behind the counter was super friendly and very helpful to noobies to Buddy’s and I appreciated her excitement for their food.
Their normal bbq sauce was mostly sweet while their hot sauce reminded me of a carolina vinegar sauce.
Overall, Buddy’s is a great stop for lunch if you are looking to pass on a standard fair fast food chain on your drive down route 40 thru kingston.

A bright sunny pit stop on a dreary Tennessee roadtrip. A tasty healthy shredded chicken sandwich with a spicy BBQ sauce… in the middle of no where. Very happy stop… complete with chili cheese dog.
