Cappa’s Kennel

We have been boarding our dogs at Cappa’s for the last 8 years and we couldn’t be happier with the care that our dogs have received. The staff is kind and knowledgeable and incredibly competent. Recently, we got a puppy and Gail has been training him and, in the process, training us to train him. She is absolutely amazing — there’s no other word to describe her. At this point, our puppy is 6 months old and he has been training with Gail once a week, in addition to a full week when he was boarded at the kennel. At this young age, he already comes when called even when he’s very distracted, will hold a down stay for a very long time (at our feet while we eat dinner, while we sit and have coffee with friends, etc.), heels, drops objects when told to and, in general, is incredibly calm, confident, and well-​behaved. Gail does all of this with positive techniques and our puppy adores her. She is a miracle worker! Yesterday we dropped off our old girl to be boarded and Gail asked immediately about her weight loss. The only reason I knew she’d lost weight was because I’d just taken her to the vet (she’s very furry) and I cuddle with her every day! I was so impressed. I rest comfortably when our dogs are with Gail.

I left my 15lb dog Spartie here for 4 days and after having unpleasant experiences at other kennels in the past I am SO glad I found this place. You can tell Gail and the other employees truly care about the happiness and well being of your dog.
My dog was a rescue and can be very nervous and occasionally aggressive with strangers, he requires very specific handling and gentleness– I expressed this concern before leaving him off and they took the time to talk with me, validate my concerns, and assure me he would be taken care of, and he was! I will definitely be returning to Cappa’s in the future for my kennel needs and planning on adopting a German Shepherd from them in the spring when my husband returns from deployment. Thank you Cappa’s for taking care of my baby while I was away!!!

Gail and Co. are absolutely amazing! We’ve gotten two shepherds from her — and we live in Cali — and both dogs were impeccably trained, well mannered and overall great house/​family dogs. On top of that, Gail even helped my sister get her sheepdog from another reputable east coast breeder, trained it, and flew out to California with the dog to deliver him to my sister in San Francisco. Cappas trains a lot of shepherds for law enforcement but also helps mold wonderful family dogs as well. Thanks for everything!!!

I only used Cappa’s for dog boarding services. My dog went for a weekend and I was told by Cappa’s personnel that everything went well. A few months later, I arranged for my dog to go again. When I arrived to drop off my dog, my dog did everything she could to let me know she did not want to get out of the car and be left there. I cancelled, took her home and made other arrangements. I have not had a problem leaving her anywhere else. Something obviously happened and I was not told about it. I would never recommend someone leave their dog with Cappa’s. I do know of other great places and often recommend them.

Having personally worked for Gail off and on over the years I can truly say I have seen what nobody else gets to see. I see how much she cares about making each and every stay with her as comfortable and fun for each dog possible. She always knows instantly when walking into the kennel who might be a little anxious and would do better in a more isolated spot or a spot where they can get constant attention. She never misses a thing. Whether it be getting a dog to take its medication or simply getting a homesick pup to eat she always makes sure it gets done. She treats every dog with the kindness as if it were her own. There is nowhere else I would leave my dog.

I met Gail through a family member, Since then she has literally made my life wonderful ! My dog was a menace until she turned him around and taught me how to work with my own dog. We struggled for years, and with a little training from Gail we are best friends now. Whether its training, food advice, boarding, health problems, I go to Gail for everything and I recommend her expertise to everyone.
