I love the hobo deli! We always stop in on our way to the Catskills to get a sub to share on our hike. We also came here a ton over summer when we were swimming and kayaking at lake onteora. Their sandwiches rock. So good and so affordable. Mostly it’s just a convenience store to save locals from having to make a journey into kingston or woodstock for groceries and such. But the deli is delicious.

There are a few times in life when a meal is so expertly crafted and planned that it is nothing short of genius… so i wouldn’t call this genius, but its about the best value you can get. I usually stop in here in the mornings before going skiing. Usually get a sandwich of some sort from their deli. The first time I stopped in, I ordered a turkey sub and just threw it in my pack and thought nothing of it. After 4 hours of nonstop skiing, and building a massive appetite, I stopped to feast on my sub. Feast is definitely the best word to use to describe it as they used what seemed like a pound of meat on my sandwich. It would probably take 8 – 10 foot long subs from Subway to match this sandwich. Other than that, the staff is friendly and the coffee is good. Perfect stop before and after any long day of skiing.

This place looks like a hole in the wall but is actually a convenient little spot. Nice selection of beer and snacks. They stop making breakfast sandwiches at 11 but I had a turkey and cheese wrap that was good and very fresh. Coffee is made with spring water and wasn’t bad for brewed deli coffee.

Stopped here on the way up to go skiing in the Catskills. Had a bunch of breakfast sandwiches that were all really good. The lady that runs the place(hard to miss with her dreads) was super nice, friendly, and easy to talk to. I didn’t feel like the place was too expensive like the other reviewer. I mean if you set your expectations to a cool little local place, then you’ll really like it.
