Good quality food, excellent service, and extremely fair prices. Would absolutely go again. The mussels with a black bean sauce were amazing. Mongolian BBQ was legit!

In the Hudson valley their are three good Chinese buffets one in Peekskill one in fish kill and this one in Kingston I believe mid Hudson is the best of the three. There are some diverse. Choices here including an American section with meatloaf and pizza. The cleanliness is always high and the food is always fresh as there are always plenty of customers here but you will never have to wait for a table. An Asian friend originally recommended mid Hudson to me and I’m glad I took her advice. One thing I would like to see on the menu would be pork fried rice instead of vegetable only.

This buffet used to be our favorite stop while shopping in Kingston, NY. Tonight we visited there for an early dinner. We were greeted at the door and seated. When we approached the buffet food serving area, many of the trays were not full. Many of the dishes appeared to be very greasy and unappealing. We tried two forms of soups and both were a big disappointment. The soups had absolutely no taste at all. The balance of the dishes were terribly bland and lacked any real taste. This buffet will not be visited by any of our family members any time soon. This visit was a total disappointment. In addition we wonder why the Board of Health has not shut this restaurant down for filthy condition of the restrooms. If you visit this establishment, avoid using the bathroom. It reminds me of the filthy places one would find in the squalor of third world country.

The food here is always great quality, and with an 8 dollar lunch special, I can’t not go. I like to eat a ton of meat when I go here. Staff is always very friendly. Drinks besides water do cost extra, and so do to-go boxes, which are priced by weight.

As a college student, I go to buffets often. The mid Hudson buffet is pretty good. There is a good variety of food, both Chinese and«American.» They have a large selection of seafood, ranging from shrimp to salmon. The Mongolian Barbecue is included in the buffet, which can be a nice change from their regular food, as you can customize your meal. I love that they have soft serve ice cream, but you should skip the small bowls and go straight for the soup bowls. The best deal is the lunch menu, which is cheaper(but you can’t eat the carved meats). That lasts until 3:30. When you’re there, give their pepper chicken a try!

Typical Chinese buffet, lots of food choices, big dinning room and many families come with lots of children. We went on Sunday and it was very busy. They do a good job of seating everyone quickly, bussing tables and making sure there are full dishes of food on buffet. I especially like the sushi, it is good sized pieces, tastes very fresh and has all of the types I like. I also love the sesame chicken, spare ribs snd hot and sour soup. The ice cream and sugared nuts are also yummy. For $ 13 for adults and 10 percent off with senior discount(thank you Dad) this is a good deal. Also the staff are friendly and efficient.

I mean how can you not love this place. Clean, friendly accommodating staff. The food is great and it’s always nice to know that only 1 or 2 things change daily and we can count on our favorites! The man who prepares the sushi is so good to my youngest daughter. He knows her order and gets it going when he sees her coming. He never let’s me forget to shake the sesame seeds on for her because he knows she loves them! One of our favorite places to stop while we shop!

I try to like this place but it just falls short everytime. Went there today for lunch after 6 months of staying away. 6 months ago i felt sick and no different today. Food is always cold and if your too early you get leftovers from the previous evening. Never will eat here again

I have eaten here three times, twice with my girlfriend, once with her family. Two out of 3 times I vomited. The 1st time, I thought maybe I over ate, and I should have known better than to eat seafood at a buffet. The 2nd time was for brunch, which was actually pleasant. the 3rd time I discovered the mongolian grill, this time I did not over eat, but I still vomited. vomited in the parking lot of the buffet. vomited in the parking lot of the mall. vomited in the bathroom in sears. Needless to say I will never go back, I pass by this place and my stomach turns.

Hey for a cheap chinese buffet, its certainly the best in the area, but the food still is one step below eating fresh roadkill… obviously plenty of dishes, most of them taste all the same the place is kept clean however if you have to use the bathroom, youre better off going outside… they are GROSS!!! there is the mongolian bbq where they cook what you bring them, but still ehhhhh they water down the sauces… neevr saw duck sauce so thin

A big busy boofay I like boofays because you don’t have to wait and depend on a server fawning over you and because of the wide selection of food available. You don’t have to choose, you can take a little, or perhaps a lot, of everything. Of course the food quality frequent declines in boofays compared to fancier, slower and more expensive restaurants but not necessarily by a whole lot. Mid Hudson boofay is a huge place with an impressive number of different items. All the usual things expected in a place like this but with some nice seafood added. Lots of different shrimp, mussels, fish and even crab legs that were quite fresh and tasty. The desserts were kind of boring and ordinary but who has room for dessert with all the seafood around. The décor was typical Chinese American boofay and the service was impersonal but quick and efficient. You don’t even notice the servers sweeping in to take your dishes, which is how it should be in a boofay. Even though this is a large place I was shocked at how packed it was. By the time we left at around 4:30, the line was out the door and people were everywhere. Never seen a boofay so crowded. I reckon the people in Kingston know a really good boofay when they see one.

Maybe I’d be slightly more favorable to this establishment if I hadn’t come down with food poisoning six hours later that left me throwing up, with nausea that was close to death, and everything else you can imagine that goes with it. I’m guessing the culprit was the salmon at the lunch buffet, but it really could have been anything. Since it was my only meal of the day, it had to be that. For 28 hours I suffered, able to eat nothing but crackers, wishing I had not been lured in by the low prices and the all-you-can-eat-ness of the experience. I will never return, so there will be no updates, no feel-good story where I say the owners and I now share Xmas holidays together and laugh about the good ol’ days. Nope. It’s the only time I’ve ever come down with food poisoning and I hope it’s my last.

This is definitely the best Chinese buffet place in the entire region. Seriously. The Hub and I have been stopping off here every weekend on our way up to our weekend place for years now, and I have yet to have a negative experience of any sort in here. That alone is amazing. The staff is wonderful and accommodating, with no attitude whatsoever even with their knowledge that they are immensely popular. They treat their customers like family, and are willing and eager to do whatever they can to make each one comfortable and pleased. The food… oh my. Not only do they have lots and lots of Chinese food choices — which are all delicious — but they also have a large Mongolian station where you can have the chef custom-prepare your handpicked choice of meat and veggies; a sushi bar(really fresh stuff!); a variety of DIY carving stations; a plentiful, drama-free crab leg area; an American station; a cold salad bar, and a dessert/pastry station with soft-serve ice cream and all the fixings. There is even a vast brunch setup during lunchtime with an array of favorites. Although the food is outstanding, the things I like equally well at Mid Hudson Buffet are their cleanliness, and the promptness in refilling the individual items. Never once in all the years I’ve eaten here have I ever approached the serving tables and found one of the items empty. If, on a rare occasion, there is one item that is running low, you can bet that before you even finish processing the thought, there will be a server directly behind you with a full tray of that item, waiting to replace it. They are that prompt. Ditto for the table servers — who will barely allow you to finish your last drop of beverage before politely asking if you’d like a refill. Same goes for their clearing away your dishes. You will never have to wait an extra second for their assistance or look about for them wondering when they will get around to your table. Great food, kind management, clean surroundings, prompt service… and did I mention ridiculously low prices for lunch and dinner? OK, it may not fit your description of «fine dining» — but it IS the fine dining equivalent in the casual buffet category. You just can’t beat this place.

I’ve been here for lunch and dinner. The food at this popular strip plaza Chinese buffet is pretty good! The buffet offers the typical Chinese dishes & items as well as some American items, carve your own roast beef or ham, seafood(shrimp, crab legs, mussels, raw oysters), salads, Mongolian grill, BBQ grill, decent sushi selection(buffet quality), and desserts(ice cream, cakes, cookies, fruit, jello). I enjoy the Mongolian grill(a large very hot circular grill), where your food is cooked right before your eyes from the raw ingredients you choose(meats, veggies, noodles). The place can get very crowded on the weekends with lots of foot traffic around the buffet stations. At least, the buffet is replenished and the food is fresh. The service is acceptable with dishes cleared between trips to the buffet and refills on drinks. BUFFETPRICES(in Nov. 2008): LUNCH: Mon-Fri: $ 6.49(Adults); $ 3.99(Kids under 10) BRUNCH: Sat, Sun, Holidays: $ 6.99(Adults) DINNER: Mon-Thurs: $ 10.49(Adults); $ 5.99(Kids under 10) DINNER: Fri-Sun, Holidays: $ 10.99(Adults); $ 6.99(Kids under 10) Kids under 3 eat free
