The price just go up and up, and the quality of food just got down and down. Their fried rice now charging extra for the meat, how ridiculous

As a pregnant woman, when a craving hits it must be fulfilled. Today my craving was for Mongolian beef, unfortunately Joy Luck is closed on Mondays. So, I ventured over here. I could not believe how expensive it was! $ 15.75 for 1 order which was the average amount! No options for salad or veggies instead of rice. The food was ok. To top it off the service was horrible. The lady behind the counter was extremely rude! I will never go here again. Joy Luck has better prices and better food.

General Tso chicken was pathetic with hardly any meat. They charge you for every little sauce packet. Came to over $ 30 for 2 meals. Will never return.

This place has become my go-to for teriyaki in Kingston. I haven’t explored the menu beyond the chicken teriyaki and spicy chicken teriyaki, but those two staples of the menu have been consistently delicious. Chicken grilled wonderfully for just the right amount of caramelization, sweet and savory sauce, and competent sides. Staff is friendly, too. Only wish they would switch from Styrofoam to biodegradable packaging, because I’ve filled a good piece of the Kitsap Landfill with their containers. And why are all teriyaki places closed on Sunday? Hmmm. Keep up the great work, Sakura.

One of my all time favorite Japanese-Korean restaurant to go to. I have eaten here more than I’ve been to McDonalds all my life. Everything on the menus is recommended. Their food fills me up so fast, that I have to save it for left overs. Fair amount of food. Servers are very friendly. I recommend it 100%

My husband and I have been to this little place twice now to pick up food for our family of 5. Here are my thoughts: — Generous portions(we feed our family of 5 with three meals and even have leftovers for the next day!) — Teriyaki chicken made just right(we’ve tried many places and the chicken here is perfect IMO) — General Taos is made to order with your preferred level of spice — The rice is that perfect level of sticky — Store is small and quaint, nothing fancy but plenty of parking — Staff is helpful and kind — Location is perfect off of Miller Bay road and the 104, so you can access this from anywhere in the area I’m particularly focused on the cost of dining out, as feeding two adults and three kids(one of them a teenager) can get fairly expensive. For us, dining out at a fast food restaurant is typically $ 35-$ 40 and I’ve polled quite a few. At Sakura, it’s $ 31 on the nose for 3 meals — and the food is amazing. My only suggestion for improvement would be the [ time to serve ](on a busy night, it can take about 30 minutes to get your meals depending on the level of customization). That said, the food itself is worth the wait. Thanks for making a great little restaurant for our area to enjoy!

Horrible service!!! Every single time we call ahead and they say it’ll take 15 – 20 minutes ends up being 30 – 40, wouldn’t mind it if it happend just 1 time but it has happend on several different occasions.

It’s time Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Indian restaurants. You know it’s time. You want to do it, you must want to do it. We want you to do it, we really do. So start, please! Start serving your regional foods prepared using traditional method and recipes or even mildly Americanized. Shoyu, mirin, sake, bit of sugar and/or honey, maybe a bit of ginger for a teriyaki? Lightly glazed over the protein? Let the protein speak for itself and the sauce be the podium? Everytime I’ve gone here, the proteins have been drenched in this disgustingly sweet sauce. It’s so gross. Then there’s a side of sauce in a little plastic container, at the bottom, is a ¼″ thick layer of sugar. Did you add raw sugar to a bottled sauce or is it so old that the sugar has separated in the container? Either way, it’s not appealing. I’ve been here several times, and I always wonder, what’s going on behind the curtains? It’s bright inside, always seems to be pretty clean and the staff is friendly. But the food, no thanks.

We stopped based on Unilocal reviews: so glad we did! My chicken and potstickers were generous and flavorful, my husband loved his General Tso’s chicken, and my kids ate tons. I have never seen my four year old go to town on a salad like that before. Service was considerate and quick. Total winner! Thanks Unilocalers!

I live nearby, so I order takeout from Sakura pretty regularly. I have never been disappointed at all. It is really consistent and tasty — never too oily as some of these little Asian places tend to be sometimes. They are also quite quick at getting your food to you. I highly recommend eating here.

Yum, yum, yum. I live right down the road, and though I don’t go out often, when I do Sakura’s is on the list. Its not the prettiest place to eat, a little dreary but I have never had better chicken and pork teriyaki. And the General Tso’s is to die for. Everything I have ever ordered from here is fresh and tasty! Stop by if you are driving through town

This place is very good. Tasty, fast & not a lot of oil like other places. Don’t mess around across the street. This is way better. Service is fast & friendly. Stick with teriyaki. Lunch special is a great deal.

I’m a big fan of teriyaki, but rarely ever find a place that does it «right». Of course, «right» is subjective since everyone likes something different. For me, Sakura is perfect. I was introduced to this place by co-workers as the go-to for lunch when you’re craving teriyaki/Chinese. I ate the beef non-stop for what seemed like months. It gets a bit expensive, but it’s good, and so worth it. I’m not a big fan of teriyaki chicken, just because so many places serve the meat extremely dry with hopes that their teriyaki sauce will divert your attention, and it never works. Sakura offers a flavorful, moist meat that makes me wish I hadn’t avoided it on the menu for so long. Their pork is excellent too. And OHMY are the servings ever big! The first time I ate there, I got the pork and beef combo and they gave me two FULL servings of both meats. It was way too much food, but teriyaki and rice keeps like a champ, so dinner it was! I no longer work in the area and therefore, rarely see the place unless I’m driving past en route to the ferry. The great service, the great food, and the great little location(for the area) will keep me coming back for a long time. I just wish I lived closer because a little indulgence in their food now and again never hurt anyone :)

I love good teriyaki. For diet reasons, I’m eating it without rice these days. I ordered #13 — chicken and pork. While I should give them 4 stars because the pork wasn’t as good as the chicken, the chicken was sooo good, they get 5. It’s really grilled and has a little puddle of juice that, when mixed with some Siracha, is superior. It’s like it came right off the habachi grill with real charcoal as the heat… though I know that’s not the case. Moreover, the iceberg salad has red cabbage strips that work well and the lettuce is really crisp. The dressing isn’t too sweet and, most importantly, doesn’t drown the salad. Try them if your out this way.
