Me and my husband very rarely get to go on a date night, even though we were nervous to try a new place we thought why not! Upon arriving there was a short wait which we saw as a good sign. After being seated at nice large booth we were greeted by a bubbly and attentive waitress(cant recall her name we believe it was Syndey). Drinks were delicious– I got the shake rattle and rum and my husband got a beer flight… with over 60 drafts he couldn’t choose just one! Meals came out timely and were absolutely delicious. I got the Pork shank which was cooked to perfection with an sauce that was to die for; my husbands bar burger came out cooked perfectly with two large pieces of bacon. Needless to say we definitely will be returning! Great great start Waxy’s!

Went to dinner with my family Friday night. First off, the atmosphere is lovely and the booths are super comfortable. The bar was very busy as we watched it from our table but our drinks came without a hitch. I ordered a delicious cosmopolitan and my husband got a beer. Our server, Sydney, was an absolute peach! My husband and I love trying new things and taking suggestions. She was quick to fill us in and recommended the pork shank for our entre. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and gave a perfect explanation of the dish(which was incredible). Quinoa??? AMAZING, once we figured out what it was(Thank you Sydney LOL). Overall, we were extremely pleased with our experience and food. Kingston needed a place like this. We will be back!!!

My husband and I highly recommend Waxy’s the next time you visit the mall for a great shopping experience or just a night out for dinner and a movie you won’t regret it!!!

Two time losers Came twice! Once hen it wasn’t really busy. Food was slow, drinks were even slower. Servers were great. The food quality lacked, for the high price. It was slow cold and just straight up disappointing. Hope they get it together.

This was my first visit. We sat at a table for lunch. The restaurant is mostly dominated by a bar and is loud. Bathrooms are clean but the trough sinks spray water everywhere on you and are messy. The service at the tables is very slow. We waited an hour once we ordered for our food to arrive. It appeared service at the bar was much quicker. We both ordered the bar burger, water and a chicken tender app. The app came out reasonably quick. The chicken was juicy but overall a below average taste even with the sauce. Our waters weren’t refilled until 20 minutes later. When our burgers did arrive(an hour after being or, they were bland. I ordered mine medium well and it was very well done. Aside from the standard lettuce and tomato, cheese and bacon it had no condiments or sauces on it and was a bit dry except for the grease. Don’t waste your time on the fries, they’re tasteless(except for a hint of dirty fryer grease) and soggy. After eating we waited another 30 minutes for our check to arrive. In total we spent over two hours for a simple burger. I’m not sure I’d come back here unless it was for a drink at the bar.

Looks great for beer drinkers. The service is slow so bring lots of patience if you are hungry. Fries are soggy. Chicken sandwich is tough as rubber.

Had lunch here. Atmosphere is awesome! What a cool place, would love it if they had a band or dj on weekends. They had magners on tap too! Had the charcuterie board which was ok, not enough crackers! Burger for lunch was delicious, I love that they use grass fed beef. The bacon could have been cooked a little crisper but no big deal. I got the waffle chips instead of the fries and loved them. Overall it was a great first experience, they are still working out the kinks as with any new place. I will definitely go back!

We came here on a Monday afternoon around 1pm. There was plenty of staff on and the place was probably a quarter full. Our first round of drinks took a solid 15 minutes. We tried a handful of the appetizers and had a few entrees. the apps were okay at best. The burgers were overcooked and fries were warm. The service was good though. We may give them another try but not sure.

My wife and I are from The Kingston Area, and were looking forward to visiting. We decided that our Date night would consist of Dinner and a Movie. The Tavern Atmosphere is well above all of my expectations and our Server Justin was excellent at taking care of our Questions and needs during our meal. My wife had the Salad with Steak, and I chose the classic Shepherds Pie. We first ordered a cup of Clam Chowdah! It did need a bit more seasoning but once we added salt and pepper the chowdah was a delight. I found the same to be the case with the Shepherds pie. The atmosphere was 5 Stars, the Service was 5 Stars, the food was two stars and for that reason I feel compelled to average it out to about 2.5 — 3 stars. I am certain that we will revisit and I hope to try something different each time.

I will start by saying i should have never gone opening weekend so i am sure after next time i will change my review. From start to finish for dinner it was 3 hours. In that time i was able to get one drink to my table, it took 30 minutes for the drink to get to me. They have no condiments on the table like salt pepper or ketchup so when the waitress left our meals and never came back to check i had to go to kitchen and get ketchup my self. The fish and chips was so so, the fish was good, the tartar sauce was currie sauce and made the meal uneatable. The rest of my group liked there burgers, although the wrong ones came out but we ate them anyway because it was almost 3 hours. The wings were good, i would get those again. In the end we were offered a free dessert but instead of dessert they brought us our tab and no dessert. The waitress really had no ideas what she was doing and made no attempt to check on us ever. If they want to be a mall pub they should offer more mall pub items on the menu. I cant foresee going back with my kids as the menu is limiting with kids but the bar was beautiful so i would go sit and have a drink again.

Very good food with a modern interesting twist. The grilled ceaser salad was a nice change from ordinary boring versions, and the beet salad was really good too, especially the fried kallettes. Chicken fingers were to die for, the kids loved them too, we ended up ordering an extra serving! I also had the muscles which were cooked perfectly with a nice chorizo white wine sauce. Their beer and wine selection is also excellent, which is pretty important to me. Service was a little slow but since they just opened, I’ll cut them a little slack. Will definitely be back!

We were excited to try the new restaurant before a movie. We were very disappointed in the experience. We had to wait 20 minutes although the restaurant was half full. We ordered calm chower, burgers, fish and chips and Shepard pie. The chowder was bland and the cups came half full. The waitress told us she couldn’t full them more because they just opened a new bag and it wasn’t heated yet. They never brought crackers. The burger was dry. The fish and chips was wilted. The waitstaff was not attentive even though the restaurant was only partially full. This is bland underwhelming food and experience to match. The prices were expensive for the product. Go somewhere else.

Great for what it is going for. Like a cask n flagons but nicer and better menu. Lots and lots of menu items were out tonight. Pulled pork, chicken noodle soup, scotch eggs, bbq sauce, hummus plate, several beers out. But what we did get was good — beet salad, shepherds pie(made w lamb), chicken fingers. Flat breads are very flat… bread needs to yeast up more but flavor a on top were good. Service was great but hindered by all the 86’d items. Lots and lots of great beers all on tap. Fabulous wait list app. Can call ahead and then see yourself move up the wait list on the app. Very cool. Will try again. I girl they sort our the menu availability.

Visited during first lunch service since the grand opening. So I expect the kinks need to be worked out. But the demand for a full service restaurant at the mall is high, and there was a «5 minute wait» at 1PM for seating. I was first impressed by the iPads which the hostess used to take our name(seat for 2). «We will text you when a seat is ready.» But 5 minutes standing at an empty high top became almost 15 minutes. And I noticed people coming in behind us with larger parties being«seated» ahead of us. So I had to step back up to the front door, and a seat was ready. Surprise, it was the very high top at which we had already camped. We noticed the restaurant was rather full, but only 2 tables were eating. The rest were waiting. We got 2 Diet Coke($ 3 each for glass with free refills). I ordered Grilled Caesar Salad. My wife got Roasted Root Vegetable Salad. As appetizers we got House Fried Pickles and a side order of Crispy Kalettes. The food took just over 20 minutes to arrive. We were missing the pickles(which eventually came as we were almost finished up). The Caesar tasted like it could have been delicious, if it were still warm. It was stone cold. The Roast Root Veggie Salad(also cold) did not appear to have the described quinoa. The Crispy Kalettes were great — almost like«french fried» Brussels sprouts, only lighter. The pickles, once they came, were piping hot spears(not chips). The explosion of hot pickle juice from the fried spear on the tongue is interesting, but one is definitely enough. At the end, we paid our bill. $ 45 +20% tip. As soon as the server rung us up, I got a text saying our table was ready. Haha! The menu looks great. I will repeat once they work out the kinks over the next few weeks.
