The food is so-so. The cheddar biscuits look disgusting and sit under a large heat lamp style setting next to where you order. My biggest issue is they allow elderly locals to loiter for hours after purchasing nothing but coffee. These old folks sit around for HOURS after paying about $ 1 for coffee. Paying customers are forced to do take out or leave because the elderly take up space and complain… for hours at a time.

The chicken was a little extra greasy so I wasn’t to impressed. I did like the biscuits though. And the service was very nice.

Bojangles is that regional fast food restaurant that you’ll miss once it’s not available to you. Being North of the Mason-Dixon line, there aren’t any Bojangles for us Yankees. Having visited Eastern North Carolina about 7 years ago, I was blessed to have sunk my teeth into the Bojangles’ treasure known as a Chedder Bo. Ever since that fateful morning, every time I am south of Maryland, I do my best to stop in and enjoy this tasty treat. The last time in Dec. 2011 I failed. This time, Oct. 2012, I’ve succeeded. Now I’m reviewing this location in Kinston with a bit of a bone to pick — a metaphorical chicken bone you could say. Because as you’re driving down 70(E New Bern Rd) you see these signs that say Bojangles in 2 miles turn left. Then as you approach the intersection for 70 and Richlands Rd. you can see another billboard on Richland Rd asking you to make a right to get to the Bojangles. Those damn signs are a bit confusing when all I want and can think about is cramming a cheddar stuffed biscuit in my mouth and washing it down with Sweet Tea. The signs should just read«Bojangles 2 miles on your left», that’s it! No more side signs, loopty loops, blah blah blah. Anyways. The Cheddar Bo is perhaps my favorite thing at Bojangles. You can get a spicy chicken biscuit elsewhere. You can get a sweet tea elsewhere. But that Cheddar Bo. MMmm! It’s one of their famous biscuits and inside of it theres a slab of cheddar. Melted. You can see them sitting there, the cheese having oozed out onto the wax paper and solidified. It’s so simple, so bad for your health but so damn delicious. And you can only get them East of Raleigh in North Carolina. Bojangles anywhere else? Sorry. Out of luck. Now the other Bojangles staple — their fried chicken? Easily comparable to KFC’s, Popeye’s or any other fast food fried chicken. The crunch is crunchy and the chicken is juicy and that’s credit enough. Meaning it’s good and I would never turn it down but compared to some of the local fried chicken places or a specialty place? No comparison. If you’re in E. Carolina stop by Bojangles get the Cheddar Bo and some sweet tea to wash it down.

Chiken’ n’Biscuts, jus’ like how’ ma make! Whoever came up with the idea of chicken and biscuits, I applaud you. There’s nothing that makes this fatty happier than wrapping crispy piece of fried chicken with a flaky, buttery biscuit for around 2 bucks a sandwich. This was my first time trying Bojangles and probably not my last. There are roughly 10 different biscuit sandwiches and I plan on trying them all. The restaurant itself was clean and the service was super-fast. A little about my credentials: I first got into cooking & food when I was in college. After being rejected by numerous girls and getting zero action, I decided it was time for a change. I needed a new makeover to boost my geeky, engineering image. I applied for a cooking position at a Mediterranean-Italian Restaurant near my home and learned to cook all sorts of pastas and dishes. I never became a professional chef, but I continue to enjoy & love food.
