I needed to block a bunch of rooms for an up coming wedding as my family and friends are all out of state. I originally went to a different hotel in this area because I had called them and they said they could accommodate me. When I went down to do the contract I was told they couldn’t do it because of the holiday weekend the wedding will take place on. I was slightly irritated by this turn of events, but then I heard about the Hampton Inn. I was a little skeptical at first, as I am not familiar with the location. But I showed up unannounced, the inside was very clean and pleasant and the staff was more than willing to help me out! Very friendly people and I was able to block rooms that day! Thank you! I will recommended your hotel for all future events!

Overall, pretty happy with my stays(twice for several days each time). Breakfast is decent, Mon-Wen nights there is finger food in the lobby from 5−7pm. It’s nothing spectacular, but it’s clean and the beds are comfortable. One of two hotels(the other being Holiday Inn) that I would stay at in Kinston. The rest are all pretty sketchy to say the least.

We had reserved two adjoining rooms for a family of 5. My husband called 24 hours before to confirm the availability of adjoining rooms. Upon check in, we were told that the hotel would not have any water for at least 2.5 hours. One family member had food poisoning and was vomiting. No water, no toilets, no hand washing. The hotel engineer, front desk manager, front desk staff all just shrugged their shoulders and pointed to a sign that said«CAUTION: Hotel under construction.» They also repeatedly stated that guests had been informed that morning of the impending water shut off. My husband was not notified of this when he called the prior day to reconfirm. There were no other hotels in town with adjoining rooms available. The water was turned back on 2.5 hours later. However, the next morning, there was no hot water at 7:15 am. The front desk informed us that the engineer would not arrive until 8 am and there was nothing she could do until then, that we would just have to wait. Despite the lack of hot water, the hotel was still serving breakfast which I am sure is a violation of the health code both for food prep and for employee hand washing requirements. This hotel should be shut down. One of our rooms had a hole in the wall, the windows were covered in dirt(on the 4th floor!), and the bathroom doors were splitting from water damage. We are Hilton Honors members and have never experienced anything like this at a Hilton property or any other hotel. Stayed January 2015, traveled with family

Friendly staff, clean, big rooms. The bathroom made me a little claustrophobic but it was modern and nice. Very comfortable bed! Breakfast was standard with the typical continental selections, waffle iron, and eggs. Easily accessible and close to downtown.

Very nice front desk, room comfortable and bed firm. TV and AC work good. plenty of space in the room. For Kinston it’s a very nice hotel, honestly no issues from my perspective.

First time here. A coworker had stated it wasnt very nice so i stayed away. Decided to stay while on vacation and was pleased. Great staff at the desk and cleaning crew. Clean rooms and a pleasant breakfast. i will stay here in the future.

Horrendous experience. I stay at Hilton’s religiously. I travel alot and decided to stay at the only local Hilton property. I work nights and when i got off my night shift at 700am, to get some sleep before my next shift at 4, i was first inconvenienced by the fact that they could not take care of a malfunctioning remote until maintenance arrived. Boy, i wish they never arrived! Drilling started in my wall 3 hours into my slumber. When i called the front desk, three times, all i got was a manager knocking on my door to move me. I packed up, moved to the room i was told to to go to, and waited. He never showd up to let me in! I asked housekeeping to let me in, since i was running out of sleep time before my next shift. The room was not made up. Housekeeping stated she would go down to the front desk and check into it. Finally, I got tired of waiting in the hallway, went down to the front desk myself only to find them standing and talking over the computer. I left insisting not to be charged the two night stay, since checking in in the morning requires you pay for both the prior night and the current day. That is, two night charge for what would have been for potentially 6 hours of sleep. No luck. Silverfish in the tub, mucously substance on the drop down ceiling in the bathroom. Ouch! I routinely clock over 100 nights per year in Hilton properties and will continue, but not here. Definitely NOT upto Hilton standards. Customer beware.

Overall, a Hampton Inn. Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Renovation was in progress and nearing completion when I stayed(no disruption or noise.) The older TVs in many rooms are scheduled for replacement with LCD flat screens. A typical Hampton property in a decent location. Have a free«lending library» of books in the lobby which you’re welcome to take with you; I donated one I finished on my trip. Typical meh Hampton breakfast; not bad, but nothing special. One evening, they had some munchies including meatballs, in the breakfast area. Biggest standout was the front desk crew — super friendly, super helpful, always greeting you and made you feel like they are genuinely friendly. The staff in the breakfast area was great, too, but the front desk crews were really standouts. For that reason alone, I’ll stay here on future trips to town. My wifi was painfully slow, though my several colleagues also staying at this property had no issues, so it may have simply been an issue of my particular room’s location(the others were in a different«wing» than was I.) But it’s free, and doesn’t even require a logon, which is pleasant.

This hotel is among the cleanest I’ve ever seen and the staff is over the top friendly and efficient. We reserved a room with a refrigerator but the fridge wasn’t there. After we called the front desk, the fridge was delivered within 5 minutes. The hot breakfast food was hot and the cold breakfast food was cold and it was ALL good and fresh. Best of all the area and tables were kept clean and well stocked.
