This is the best market. Very low turnover of the dedicated staff, locally owned, nice, helpful people. Some great baristas but they need to market their coffee more — Café Vita yeah, yeah. Delicious. Fresh doughnuts and delicious French bread made there everyday. Shop here!

I’ve tried just about ever supermarket in the area: Wholefoods, QFC, Safeway, Trader Joes, Metropolitan Market, PCC, Uwajimaya, Asian supermarkets … but Red Apple is my absolutely favorite for fresh produce (though I prefer to buy berries and lemons elsewhere). They have an excellent buyer (and gets some of the loveliest avocados in the area) and you can get top notch fresh produce consistently. I also like their sushi section (and my kid who is a corn dog fanatic says they do the best corn dogs as well). I think Wholefoods has the best butcher section in the area, but again, Red Apple has a good meat supplier (not like the stuff at Safeway or Fred Meyers which makes me feel queasy); I think Uwajimaya has the best seafood section, but again, I happily buy salmon from Red Apple regularly as it is fresh (not always the case in QFC or Safeway). The non-​produce section is good but not the most comprehensive: eg, you might not be able to get every flavor of Betty Crocker’s cake mix, but you get most. And I buy wine here too, though I think I buy most from QFC. So, I think if you tend to eat mostly fresh produce and fresh meat, you will be very happy here. The staff all know each other really well and have a good relationship with one another and seem happy to work here (though I maintain the staff at the Bella Botega QFC have the best rapport, not sure what it is about that branch). They can be a little quirkier than other tellers, but that’s a good thing I think. They have re-​designed the layout by putting an aisle in the middle of their aisles, which I personally don’t like, but it opens things up a bit.

Great selection, nice meats and fresh produce. Lots of organics at fair prices. Be sure to try their Italian Sausage and their huge organic veggie section. This would be an easy 5 star review if they would put automated check out stands in.
Numerous visits show some staff like to chat at length while checking folks out. I understand being friendly and social but they extend this well beyond reasonable which is a bit of a hassle for the extra wait in check out lines.
Some of the staff are old and disregard customer service. Linda put the eggs in the bottom of my grocery bag and piled everything on top, including 4 jumbo avacados. I commented and got a lot of attitude.

Rough customer service. Was on hold for over 25 mins waiting to sort out a simple gift card purchase where they didn’t activate the card properly. Disappointing.

I am new to the area and being that I have a zest for culinary experiments I often need a few odd ball ingredients. I was pleasantly surprised to find most of these here. The prices are unfortunately a bit higher that the name brand grocery retailers but I would say well worth the few extra pennies for the customer service and variety! I must say that I was very surprised that they did not carry Limburger cheese. For their variety of both common and off the path inventory I expected I would find this in the specialty cheese area because I usually buy Limburger cheese at retail giant Fred Meyers.

I am a 20 year customer of this market and this is just the best place to shop. It is very close to my house, everyone is friendly, and there is a Chase, Bartells, and Ace Hardware in the same neighborhood so it’s one stop shopping!
The produce is fresh, there is a wide selection of gluten-​free flours, and they have grass-​fed beef.

I have lived in the area for 25 years and this is a great neighborhood market. Very friendly staff, will have everything you need and no long lines. The produce and bakery is always fresh. Their meat department has fresh meats not what you get at Fred Meyer or Safeway.

No reason to ever visit the Starbucks in this complex when the Red Apple has everything they do, but better! They have a small coffee stand inside featuring Caffe Vita with fair pricing, deliciously made drinks, and friendly baristas. The real kicker is their breakfast sandwiches. I’m somewhat of a breakfast sandwich aficionado, and most places just don’t quite cut it for a decent price. For $ 2.99 you can get a breakfast sandwich that will make Starbucks’ breakfast sandwiches whimper in inferiority. My top secret special recommendation is bacon, egg, Havarti, with pesto mayo on an English muffin.
The rest of the Red Apple has a nice selection and very friendly employees. Never had any issues with people not wanting to help, usually greeted with a smile & wave. Their produce looks good quality, and doesn’t go bad quickly the way Costco produce tends to. Health food section could use a boost. Coffee & tea selection is great. I like their beer & wine selection too. Their buyer does a great job given space compared to larger markets.

Came shopping here for the first time while dog sitting for a friend, won’t be going back.
None of the employees were helpful while I was obviously wandering the store looking for items… when I worked at a grocery store, any customer I saw I would ask if they were finding everything okay… here I did not even get a smile or eye contact.
The atmosphere is unpleasant and although Metropolitan Market is more expensive, I would rather spend my money there, where they are friendly, helpful and have a calming atmosphere.

Absolutely amazing group of people here! Prices are good, everything is kept clean, they have their own coffee stand, and it feels like a family in there. The lady in the bakery made me a custom pine cone cupcake cake and the guy in produce cracked a coconut for me before I bought it since I didn’t think I could do it myself. All the cashiers know me and my cat by name, given that I take my cat for walks here all the time. Fantastic place

Called so see if I left my wallet at one of the registers yesterday and got a very rude person on the phone. Whoever she was sounded like I was really interrupting her day and even cut me off in the middle of explaining, that she didn’t find any wallets. Very unhelpful and will likely never shop here because
of how awful the customer service was.
Before the whole wallet fiasco, i had been in there earlier and all the employee’s on the floor seemed to ignore every customer that was inside and seemed very pained to even check me out. WORST. SERVICE. EVER.

This isn’t a bad supermarket, it’s just badly out of date. It’s like shopping in the 1970s — a little bit dark, aisles a bit too narrow. The selection is okay — you will probably find what you need here. But it’s expensive, and there’s nothing special enough to warrant the higher prices — unless it happens to be on your way home.

I live right next to here, so it’s obviously very convenient. I dislike grocery shopping with a passion, it’s stressful and long and hectic which is why I hate the safeway on 85^th. Red apple is nice and small and a lot less stressful. I have found that there fresh foods are actually cheaper, and the more processed name brand things are more expensive. They have some great deals on meat. I’ve gotten stir fry meat that works great in pasta etc for 2 bucks for a package. Most of the staff is really nice especially the younger guys. They have a nice selection of local fresh foods which I really appreciate.

Dislike — prices are higher than some stores. Selections are limited in some areas.
Like: employees are always helpful and friendly. They have some cool specialty items. The produce and meat is usually top quality.

This store carries really delicious raw milk from the Old Sylvana Creamery, which I love! Way too many grocery stores are nervous about selling raw milk (including, annoyingly, Whole Foods) so the Red Apple deserves a big shout-​out for standing up for natural food choice. I will drive out from Redmond to this store just to buy the milk I love it so much. I usually also find other good deals while I’m there and I like the store atmosphere.

I don’t mind the somewhat higher prices here, but the two women clerks here are rude and cold. Not so with the guys who work here — they’re great.
I live close by but would rather go to QFC in Redmond, any day.

Every time I come to this Red Apple I find local treats that you don’t always find in every grocery store. This aspect gives more of a local market kind of feel.
Prices are a bit steep compared to other grocery stores and I was shocked by the prices on single bottles of bottled water. Not a single brand or even their house brand was on sale. Plus, the cooler wasn’t very cold, so even if you fish to the back for the perfectly cold and crisp bottle, you’re never going to find it.
A Chase ATM is always a bonus!

Ran in for an appetizer to take to a friends house and some booze.
Came out with two flavors of hummus, carrots for dipping, cheap cider that was in the clearance section (tasted fine I don’t think cider goes bad quickly), and a 6 pack of beer.
I was impressed with their big selection of cider and beer there was so much to choose from.
The cashier who rang us up was friendly and the guy working in produce was friendly also, so I was really impressed with the employees that work here.

I’ve been in this store three times. The shelves are well-​stocked and it seems to have good, fresh produce in abundance and everything else one can want in a grocery store. What’s lacking are people to help you find stuff. Oh, and reasonable prices. At least in the deli department, everything I’ve seen, the 3 times I’ve been here in the deli department, cost at least $ 2 more per item than its counterpart at Safeway or QFC or Fred Meyer. Whenever I’ve been in here to pick up a quick lunch, I’ve promptly left to get a sandwich at the Subway located in the same strip mall.

I really like this Red Apple. It is the perfect size for the community, with a selection that is varied enough that you rarely need to go elsewhere to find a specific item.
I’ve never seen it slammed with customers which is great, and the aisles are spaced so you don’t get that cramped feeling you can sometimes get with midsized markets. The deli/​prepared foods section is nice as is the seafood department. I like their focus on more local items, and overall the prices are pretty good (there are some great sales).
